OMG how did it take me 2 years to find this video!! the is the exact solution and setup I have been looking for! Boss should really pay attention and incorporate this into the design.
Hello all. I am the one who developed this mod. There is no video for this mod, not by me anyways. The mod is strait forward and if the instructions are followed paying attention to noted details it will work perfectly. It is important to note that good soldering skills are required. The solder points are in close proximity of other components so you need to take care and pay attention where your tip is at all times. Use a fine point tip if possible and don't stay on the solder point any longer than necessary with the heat. There is 3 wires to solder. If you want this function and don't feel comfortable doing this mod, Boss just released the Katana Go Headphone Amp. It's only $119 US and has line out like this mod gives you, and usb recording. The app is also somewhat improved and gives you other features the Waza Air doesn't offer. I have both and I can honestly say they both sound reeeeeeealy good. If you want to do the mod and have any questions, just go to the VGuitar link above in description and we'll be glad to help any way we can. Incidentally, If you have the Waza Air headphones, a Fender lunch box and some foam padding make a great carry case ;)
That’s awesome, like you I got the WAZA headset so my poor wife didn’t have to listen to me play my guitar all the time😂😂👍🏿, however; as soon as I got the headset my next thought was I want to record so I can listen back to how much I suck at guitar lol And it looks like I’m not the only one Boss needs to put this feature in them already, doing it this weekend .. us shredders helping each other is awesome✌🏽✌️
Bonjour vous allez bien? parlez-vous français, je suis pas sûre de bien comprendre, vous avez installé vous-même l’ aux?? J’aimerais bien modifier les miens pour pouvoir faire ça.
That is exactly what I’ve been wanting to do, but I’m not confident enough in my knowledge of the circuitry to in the latest technology. If you could possibly afford the time to just open yours and take a snap shot of the soldering points it would really help me a lot. You did exactly what I didn’t have the ⚽️🏀⚾️ to do!!!😂 Take a bow, my friend!!

@@Th3Mandrill actually I found that last night, I didn’t see the link on your site. But, thanks for replying. I had begun to assume that was the way to do it. Thanks again, seeing your results really helped!!
Hi, thanks for the sharing your mod. One question though, my understanding is that the mic transmitter you are using is mono. How are you getting stereo recording? Thanks a lot.
It's only mono unfortunately. If you want to record stereo you could use a splitter and two transmitters or a stereo cable directly to your recording device. The DJI Mic only has mono output through the Lightning port but can output stereo to through 3.5 mm.
I connected my DJ mic and it doesn't work. I tried connecting it in other places and it works. Why doesn't it work with DJ Mic? Can you explain to me how to connect the DJ mic to the headphones, thanks!
Did it work connecting the headphones to a speaker or another device? I didn't do anything special for the DJI mic, just connected to the new jack with the included 3.5mm cable.
Am I right in thinking you’ll need to play this through a full spectrum amplifier, eg a keyboard or acoustic amp? Otherwise wouldn’t you get additional compression etc from a standard guitar amp which would potentially adversely affect the sound you’d expect to hear? Effectively the headphones are full spectrum range to provide the range and complexity of sound required. Really excellent idea by the way.
Hi, very interested in recording my Waza Airs. A year on in since you made the video, what are your thoughts a year later? Anything that you would do deferent? Any thoughts on other options (if any)?
The mod itself works great but I got a horrible buzz through the headphones. Seems to me like a combination of active pickups, bad wiring in the guitar and high gain on my patch.
@@Johnny_blu the built-in jack is unfortunately only for syncing the wireless transmitter, it doesn't output any audio. Doing the mod is the only way to get audio out of the headphones.
È l'unica cosa che manca alla waza air. Io non credo di essere capace e non so quanto costerebbe farlo fare a qualcuno. Immagino che alla fine terrò le cuffie solo per suonare sul divano. Grazie comunque per la dritta.
I ordered the WAZA Air phones. Like you, I want to record, or at least loop a chord progression to practice soloing over, I’m surprised there’s no looper already incorporated. I will do the mod, and pair the headphones with the boss fs-1-wl which will be used to trigger record, stop and play. Anyone have suggestions for an iOS phone recording app? Thanks for posting the mod👊
I found a solution. I use two cheap Bluetooth transmitters/receivers. They have stereo minijack plug. One is set in transmitter mode, the other one in receiver and they are paired together. They are small, light (size of an usb stick). Sound quality is good. The only problem is a delay, but I use it for recording, so it doesn't matter. They cost 10EUR each.
I got this one (Swedish store): www.kjell.com/se/produkter/ljud-bild/kablar-adaptrar/35-mm/35-mm-kontakter/chassikontakt-med-brytare-35-mm-stereo-p37154
I have a simpler solution. Us a focusrite scarlet, ua volt or some other similar audio interface, plug pedalboard into audio interface then plug wasa into headphone jack. Can then record and listen to what you playing.
Also I don’t own the boss headphones. Not bothered about the katana in headphones, but positional audio for that amp in room is something I am looking for.
How would you suggest plugging the Waza headphones into a headphone jack when the whole video is about solving the issue of them lacking a headphone jack?

Hello, DaddyRock! Just finished this mod myself. Little tricky to solder, but works perfectly!
Thank you so much!!! It's really important to listen what you practice. It's sad, that it wasn't already there on the product.
Woa! A video tutorial would be so greaaat 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Killer tip !

Is there a way that I could record the sounds straight into my phone, while going through the headphones only and no amp?

Would this work if I used the existing jack to aux on the ear piece and run an aux to the amp/speaker (so I don't have to drill or make mods)?
Not sure if thst makes sense. Using a jack to aux and plug thst into the existing ear piece and run the aux to the amp? Jesus. Hard to explain.

Do you know if there is any less expensive solution for: DJI Mic wireless microphone system?
You can record with your phone running a 3,5 mm cable or something like a Zoom H1n recorder.

This will technically work however, it will only be a mono signal.
I got a solution on Logic Pro and one of the studio environments for positional audio. So I get that amp in room type effect.
