    Thanks so much. I've tackled this job following your video and wouldn't have known where to start without it.

    Really helpful video, thanks for taking the time to do this. Tackled mine at the weekend using this and all went smoothly. So glad to finally have the leak sorted!

    Good Job! The only I would do differently is not to remove your upper hose on the Rad although it really help with the Camera Angle! At the same time, I would change your Belt, Tensioner, and Pulley... and in my case, the Alternator since my Z4 is 18 years old anyways... so it's time! Thank you for taking the Time to do this Video

    Great video, thanks for posting - it may have convinced me to tackle this myself, it looks a lot more straight-forward than some other DIY videos.
    Quick question, did you remove the radiator fan at the beginning?

    • @dirtykurty92
      @dirtykurty92  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Go for it! It’s not to hard of a job! Just set yourself with plenty of time just in case! No I did not pull the radiator Fan, in the z4 it only has electric fans.

      @@dirtykurty92 I went for it, with my laptop out and this video at the ready - I did get stumped because I found out that my tensioner has been changed to a hydraulic one (mechanical in your video) - I needed a T50 bit to release the tension and then carry on as per your video - also I left the rad hose in place - to chime in for others, if you're changing the serpentine belt, and you have aircon, you need to remove the aircon belt first, best done from underneath - my waterpump was only changed about a month ago, i had a new belt then and was told the pulleys were ok, so I didn't bother changing those. Also, make a note of how the belt runs and take note of the order of bolts that come out of the housing , as they need to go back in the same positions. Anyways - a HUGE thanks again for the video - M54 3.0 Z4

    Thanks for this! Easy to understand and follow, approximately how long would you say this takes for a confident handyman with little experience working on cars? Thanks!

      It depends how dirty it is and how extensively you want to clean it. I’d say anywhere from 2-5 hours

    • @Sulser007
      @Sulser007 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      3-4 hours but take your time, it's now that you can clean your engine... and change your Pulley and Tensioner... without saying the Belt!

    Did you prime you engine before starting it up after changing the gasket?

    • @dirtykurty92
      @dirtykurty92  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not, I just started it. It may be better for the engine to prime it but I personally did not have any issue without doing it.

      Me either. I took it out after starting and monitoring for a few minutes. Been driving it around. Felt great to drive it again. No leaks 😊.I changed the antifreeze clamp under the oil cooler. I loosen it to get to the bolt underneath on the oil cooler as extra insurance. Changed the oil. I still need to reset the oil maintenance reminder.
      I just don't understand why they don't have a oil dipstick for the level?

    • @dirtykurty92
      @dirtykurty92  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@terrencelawrence5007 my z4 had a dip stick in it but newer BMW's did get rid of the dip stick, it is to bad if you ask me. There is more you can tell with seeing the oil than just the level.
