- In this video we'll understand the economic impacts of migrant workers, why migrants are important to the economy and what will be its consequences if they don't return to cities. In the last 2 months many migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhan, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha who work in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh etc have had problem regarding food, shelter and work due to lockdown. Now they are forced to return to their home states. In this video we'll learn what will be the impact of this on the Indian economy and how it will affect businesses once the economy resumes.

returning of migrant workers is surely a prob for home states, but it also clears off the unnecessary burden put on tier 1/2 cities due to which a lot of problems have risen up in these cities like pollution , poor sanitation , poor and lack of public health infrastructure, deepening water crisis , over-populating cities, less traffic and many more.... the states should do everything they can to provide enough work to these labourers so that they can atleast eat properly (for atleast 1-2 year) and in the meantime states should be deploying more employment opportunities for each type of worker so that this crazy migration doesn't happen again. It is very crucial for the states to prevent the future migration to big cities atleast 50-60% so that proper infrastructure can be developed in their native states with the help of returned labours which also give them employment opportunity.

Can the crisis in rich cities lead to shift of industrial base to the source region?
Very difficult to do so eg bihar they are a agrarian economy very low natural resources, landlocked, infrastructure bottlenecks, land, market nearness, crime rate etc determine the industries location. Read about factors of industrial location and industrial region of India you will get clarity. However MSME can be a solution it is labour intensive and can be set up with govt. effort so do know about govt intervention like MSME outreach program of govt., Government e market place, and 3 lakh crore allotted to MSME etc...

Sir i'm from Bihar even in my family, locality , villages people are working there for the livelihood. Sir how i can contribute to uplift the economy of bihar particularly to the lives those people. Sir i have met people in my village/locality who come for some days they it is better live with some money here than to work there. But the more compelling part is the education factor for the childs. Isn't any way to remove the pains of those who travel with toddlers on the highways for some days forever. Here , a/c me here in every house minm 1 earning people work in states like mh, gj, tamilnadu, kt etc.
