- Evelyne Raden, Executive Housekeeper at Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, sits down with hosco.tv to talk about her path from Front Office to Housekeeping, and about what it’s like to manage 88 employees in a 319-room luxury hotel. Although her original passion was for Front Office, having worked as both an agent and as Front Office Manager, Raden says it was her curiosity about the “flip side of the coin” that led her to try out a position in Housekeeping. She discovered that she loved the department’s huge team, its many moving parts, and the coordination that she had to master to succeed as an Executive Housekeeper. She walks us through a typical day overseeing one of the hotel’s biggest and busiest departments, and she shares her position’s unique challenges and inspirations. Am senior housekeeper, the job of the housekeeping supervisor is the same in all section of a company, be in a hotel, presidential houses, offices and public arsas. Just making sure every thing is put in an ordinary manner, the place is very clean to standards, no complaints in the plumbing, electrical section so that people using those facilities areas are happy.
What kind of training is needed to be an executive Housekeeper . I’m currently a housekeeper at a nursing home almost 5 years but would like to be an executive Housekeeper like the lady in this video.
I would suggest you apply at a hotel as a supervisor for housekeeping job. That way you can work your way up to being a manager. Working as a supervisor try to learn all the programs on the computer the cordinator or the manager uses. You can do it. I became a manager that way. Its called on the job experience.
