you know a story fumbled so hard when you finish it and question yourself, "why did i read this in the first place?"
for me, it's because the beginning promised so much, and it kept DELIVERING, it kept having amazing stakes, amazing characters, amazing moments that made me stay at the edge of my seat every time, but at some point it just... stopped, and nothing ever felt as satisfying as it used to. characters never reacted to their circumstances, deku was set to recognize his own flaws and to become better, but he didn't do any of those things. i kept reading because i foolishly held hope and believed that things would eventyally be like they used to be, that the story would suddenly remember what it was like to be alive
the manga is now over, and the only thing i feel right now is regret, i wish i had never cared in the first place

Then it was just like "oh he reinforces his arms or something by blah blah blah." Just give your character some permanent consequences. I read comments defending the ending, saying his defeat of afo made him the greatest, but I don't see how he can be the greatest when he never went pro and he never surpassed prime all might who also defeated afo twice on his own and had a 40 year career being number 1... deku had elite heroes with him fighting afo with him ... deku still had a long way to go to get on all might's level

Let the man relax for a while,do some one shots then get back to it when he's ready.
Or do what you said and watch him go pro hero. With the complications of their being a #1 hero in every country like united states, that opens a whole new door of competion to REALLY become the best hero their is.

Bakugo was saved twice (if i remember correctly) and only the second time was there some "price" to pay for his revival, which was edgeshot dying to become his heart, but even then it just resulted in Bakugo getting a massive amp in power. Deku risked it all to defeat Shigaraki, losing OFA as a result, only to get a suit which entirely rids the meaning and value of Deku being willing to give up one of the things he treasures most (OFA and being the #1 hero). Not to mention him working as a teacher, you would expect him to have garnered a massive amount of fame for taking down Shigaraki regardless if he wanted it or not, so him being able to live a normal life (not saying this is bad) as a teacher is just super unrealistic.

Obviously the suit costed a lot bakugo wasn't even the only person who funded the suit. He was just the person who led it . Also, the people who made his suit had to study data to make it even better than all mights and probably get resources for it It took three of the smartest minds in the series to create this suit .
and just because your parents are loaded doesn't mean you're loaded, hell you mean deku neaver mastered his powers we see him automatically Master several different quirks and combine them together to make them even stronger and yes, it does feel like there isn't full-on consequences, but that's only really true for the main characters there are several side characters in the series that lose their quirks forever and that's a big thing when it comes to these fights My hero academia isn't the type of series to kill off more important characters to raise the stakes
And deku still became the greatest hero strength doesn't really matter in the end and he proved it,
So I kind of disagree with your reasonings of why the ending is bad
I like the ending but I still have some issues with it myself I honestly agree with the part that some things that's kind of been foreshadowed since the series begun has been ignored like romance
I also kind of don't like how it was rushed. It was a good epilogue to the ending but I kind of felt like the chapter should had more pages to it to explain what exactly is going on
Especially how people think deku had no contact with his friends in 8 years which I barely find important anyways since people start to drift off after high school and his friends are pretty busy.

Well, the first episode of the comic says, "This is my story of being the best hero," and being the best hero doesn't mean being the strongest or being the highest ranked, so I think that was achieved.
As for the quirks, I basically thought from the first episode that there was a high probability that they would disappear, simply because deku asked the question "Can i be a hero without quirks?" Not "Can I be a hero?" I think the premise of "no quirks" is very important, leading me to follow the series with the mentality that the ending ofa will disappear, so the ending of ofa's departure is normal for me, and not surprising at all.
"Can i be a hero without quirks?" This question is also given the answer, even ahead of time, in the final arc AM in order to block the afo with a power suit, I knew that this is probably the final answer, because AM is also a person without quirks, his answer, basically will be deku's final answer.
I think the ending horikoshi gave is quite normal (the only thing I can be angry about is why Endeavour is still alive in the final episode) He is not a genius , but he has done his best to draw the ending that at least makes sense, and if the ending ofa doesn't disappear, maybe a lot of people will be happy, But there may also be some people who ask, "What deku originally asked isn't it possible to be a hero without quirks?" You become a hero, but what about your quirkless premise?"
No matter whether deku retains ofa in the end, some people will question, it is better to draw horikoshi's own wants, in the very beginning of the initial design, deku is completely without quirks, did not get ofa, AM and his connection is not too close, deku in the initial design is completely dependent on support item to become a hero. So the end of MHA, in MHA parlance, he's just back to origin.
Like in the first episode, he will lend a hand to save others, will unknowingly move to help people in trouble, he is already a hero, he just needs a ticket. The ticket was ofa last time, and the power suit this time

The destination is just as important as the journey, perhaps even more so. If the ending is unsatisfying then everything building up to it can feel wasted and hollow. At least that's my opinion. I got flashbacks of Mass Effect 3 when I saw the ending of MHA. All those hundreds of hours of gameplay and choices over 3 games amounting to what color light I wanna die in. The journey was great, but where I ended up left me so unsatisfied that I felt disgusted I spent so much time on it. Now I have a similar feeling for MHA. What a waste.

  • @adamburakowski42
    @adamburakowski42 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

I dropped MHA after 4th season, with a notion of great potential which will be wasted, so it's not worth it to continue, because nothing interesting is going to happen anyway. When I heard that Ending is absolute garbage, I decided to come back and see how it happened. My expectations were rock bottom, and I still ended up disappointed xD.
I had to watch season 5 and 6 to catch up, and honestly I loved it so much, I felt the urge to make a video and tell everyone that this anime is actually good. Not "Has it's moments", Just Good. I completely forgot that ending is going to be garbage, and went in for a ride. I Catched up with season 7, went straight to the manga, cause I couldn't wait, till the anime is finished, and... The ending was terrible, who would've thought?
This story should end with Deku with no quirk, yet still a hero. We had stories of guys with no quirks fighting and winning, and all might had OFA for YEARS, and managed to pull off one of the greatest battles before loosing it. Deku should be loosing his powers gradually, and maybe could make up for these losses with tech, and at the end be totally quirkless. Which honestly would make the message author was going for, much better, because Deku would show that everyone could make a difference even without powers, which maybe wouldn't make him the strongest, but for me that'd be the coolest hero (Batman is my favorite superhero, how could you tell?).
More importantly he shouldn't loose contact with his friends. People saying that adults are busy, and it's not easy... HE'S THEIR FRIEND GOD DAMMIT, who they would give life for not so long ago. You're saying they couldn't spare a weekend for him every now and then? Apart from that, I'm not much of a shipper, but if author goes for it, he can't chicken out at the end. If you foreshadow so many of them... Kaminari and Jiro, Kirishima and Ashido, Shoto and Yaomomo (tis one is not as concrete, as others) and of course the elephant in the room Midoriya and Uraraka, then make them official. We know that Uraraka has a huge crush on Deku, which is undeniable, and there's no way Deku'd say no, if she asked him out, which she should. In current second last chapter for example.
The last important thing'd be turning one 8 year time skip (which in my eye is just a lazy way of showing how things changed) into couple chapters being a 1-2 year each. When you do big time skips like that, unless a lot of things change, it makes the world feel static, which sucks.
Honestly I'm the most disappointed in myself, that I can't draw, because I believe that non-toxic fanbase of MHA deserves better xd.

At least Fairy Tail had nothing to prove. I never got the impression that Fairy Tail tried to take itself too seriously, so the lack of significant stakes never bothered me. It was there to entertain its demographic and entertain it did. And the ending was fairly satisfying! It’s not perfect, but it’s perfectly harmless.
My Hero Academia, on the other hand, always felt like it was attempting to prove itself in the genre, not only that it was just as good as what came before, but also better. But it set itself too high of a bar. At the end of the day, we just gotta accept the irony that a show called “My Hero Academia” will be remembered mostly for having some of the best written villains in recent history of the genre.

They're just the embodiment of "to prove how corrupt the government is, I will put this baby in a blender". Like I'm sorry, but nothing they do has any significance. They don't challenge the heroes to be better, they just challenge how empathetic the heroes are, which starts getting pretty toxic.

@BongsoonDo Again people not understanding the actual world building of how the hero society works. Its not just about strength. Heroes jobs are to save lives, maintain peace, and reduce collateral damage it's not just about fighting or whose is the most powerful.
The series addresses this many times that you don't have to have the most powerful quirk for it to have any use on the job That's why certain heroes have specific jobs to help out.
Hagakure (Invisible Girl) has a quirk that allows her to go undetected. Very useful for stealth and recon. Momo may have to work on a team but her quirk can be very useful for utilities and support to help others or the situation in better ways. Hanta Sero (tapeguy) has many versatilities on the job like subduing the suspect or rescuing others. Toga has a literal quirk that disgust her from all the way to her finger tips that literally help her avoid being caught.
Why have a quirkless individual who probably works in public services like the police force, firefighter, or paramedics doing professional hero work over actual person that has a quirk that could be more versatile, capable and whose quirk can have more use.

For me it is a bad series and one that is poorly written in my opinion, there are no consequences to anything that happens to the characters none of the main core characters die, yea you have background characters who do but all the main 1A class and All might still live and whatever injuries they have, are magically healed, it’s a bad series because from chapter one it made promises and foreshadowed events that simply never happened, you could read chapter one of the manga or watch episode one of the anime and look at the final chapter and every single character is the same as they were in the first chapter, Rendering the entire series pointless, yes they go through stuff but in the end they are all still the same and they are all in the same physical condition they were at the start, if none of the events happened in the series they would all still end up in the same spot at the end, being Entertaining does not make for good storytelling, and in a series that is driven by character development and stakes and consequences for the characters and the world they reside in, and then doesn’t deliver on any of that it does make it a bad series in my eyes, Entertaining and good storytelling are 2 different things to me personally

The story of the greatest hero who has no powers. Something to aspire to. Not this bs chosen one shtick that shonen loves to use and never gets right.

Honestly they should have committed to the "Japanese Spiderman" angle Deku had going for him. He started at the very bottom and got brought into the upper tier almost instantly because he understands how to responsibly use such a power.

People who think bakugo should have died are brainless and the same for people who think izuku should jave lost his arms.Bakugo had to be alive for the story to have a good ending. Bakugo was the only one who could have stopped afo. If he died then allmight gets ripped in half then deku dies. Izuku got his arms back cuz of eri. Her quirk is stored in her horns which is explained way before. All 3 of them bakugo izuku and allmight had to be alive to get the good ending where the heroes win. Yall edgy toddlers complaining about stakes are annoying. If you want stakes then make up the story of previous ofa users. All the previous ofa users died horrible deaths and got every single member of their family kill. You want that sh1t then imagine that in your head. Mha is the story of the victors who defeat afo. These are also meta humans, not normal human. They don't even die easily 💀.
