Lovely paint job bro👌Although it does trigger my OCD slightly that GW painted some of their studio S2D stuff in black armour and some in silver armour lol
Love this video. I notice you chose Nuln Oil rather than Agrax Earthshade for the 'second coat' of shade over the Iron Warriors & Targor Rageshade on the Chaos Chosen video. An particular reason other than these dudes are 'lower class' and therefore slightly grubbier?
Warhipster should I apply paints without dilute (water down) them? It looks to me you take the paint directly from his bin. And should I wet the brush before to take the paint?
Yes, don't water down the paints, take them directly from the pot if they are contrast paints. Make sure your brush is damp (not wet) before putting any paint on it. You don't want to put paint on a completely dry brush, you'll ruin it.
hey I'm new to painting models and I have a question, do you think that if I use black legion for armor and go like you agraxx etc (just change silver to black but I'll still go like you) it will be a good effect? I also saw your cavalry guide and maybe try armor like you did with them? Or should I try silver because they look great but I don't know if I can do it
The armour certainly would be aye. You could always try Mechanicus Standard Grey that way you can still use contrast paints on the cloaks and things. If you went for black you would have to classic paint the non metallic bits of the models as the red and the bone and that wouldn't do anything over a black primer. If I procure some more warriors I'll see if I can do a Mech Standard Grey scheme!
question would paining the horse mounted chaos knights look good with armor painted like this or would that be to mutch metal with the horses having armor as well
Incredibly useful. Painting these now. Subbed for the $65 patreon. Is it bad that its at the point where I'm basing my purchases on if you have a video for the kit? :D
I used to have this issue too, then I realized I was putting it on too thin. Try putting thicker coats on and use longer strokes when you can. Try to avoid going back over parts that are still wet. By going on thicker you shouldn't have the need to keep doing brush strokes over wet areas. Good luck!
Chaos Warrios, Exalted Hero, Eternus, my hobby evening is set!
Loved the videos this week! So excited for these guys. Thanks for posting!
Thank you very much for all your work. Keep up the amazing work
Just in time! Thank you for all you do!
Oh man, I can't wait to see what you do when Old World Models come out
Love your paint scheme. What is your recipe for bases?
Awesome stuff!

Amazing job
👏 amazing. I'm following all your videos to get my army ready. Do you have a video on chaos chariot or knights a d deamon prince...cheers
Quick question, if you make a mistake are you going back over it with grey seer brush painted before applying another contrast paint?
Great video 👍🏻

Armure = targor rageshade + agrax earthshade

Nice job bro !
Do you think one day you'll make a video for Varanguard with Contrast Paint ?
Oh man that's what I've been hoping he would do!

After trying Black Templar and Agrax Earthshade over the Iron Warriors which was the best result for Warriors of Chaos armor?
Would this just be darker and bit more grim if I used a black primer instead of grey?

Would it be easier to paint the shield separately? And glue it on when both the main model and shield are finished?
Yes by far. The shields can really be a pain in the ass, but same goes for the cloaks.

It’s only bad if what you really want to do is something old I haven’t done yet and will not have time for! You’re a legend though thank you so much!
Haha, well the tips and recipes I am learning along the way should allow me to figure out anything you don't end up covering@@Warhipster
I love your work. May I ask how you get the contrast paint on so smooth? Mine tends to come out very splotches.
