Wow now I get why people like fish tanks, kind of mesmerizing and hypnotic. Now would you say that the coral reefs looked bleached? I sort of picture them as being super colorful. Beautiful area, thanks for taking us along. It really is a trip of a lifetime and to be able to do it twice!
When they’re bleached they look bone white because the corals expel their zooxanthellae. There was an area which had been bleached there a few years back but generally it was healthy. It’s just that some coral like fire coral come in more muted colors
Glad that you scored a sea snake and that’s a cra-a-a-a-zy crop of fire coral. One in our little group got tagged by fire coral as he was exiting from our final dive of the trip. No bueno. I do miss the clown fish… plenty of anenomes around, but sadly, no clowns. Looking forward to the next vid!
She found a small one during one of the later trips and it completely overrode for her the fact it was a less than wonderful dive in a strong downcurrent
