Palm Beach County Day of Service Event 2025

Rows of tables overflowed with essential daily items as volunteers and Palm Beach County staff formed lines to stuff roughly 300 backpacks and 3,000 care kits. This a gesture done in a heartfelt effort to supply Palm Beach County’s unsheltered population with typical daily-use products.
Palm Beach County partnered with United Way to organize the first Palm Beach County Day of Service (video) on January 16th. Employees from various departments around the county rolled up their sleeves at the Westgate Community Center Gymnasium, where they worked together to assemble care kits for those in need within the community.
Amid the ongoing housing crisis, the event highlighted the importance of individuals having access to essential resources. Each care bag contained vital items such as bottles of water, deodorant and undergarments. It also included a brochure featuring valuable information about local housing resource centers and contacts for much-needed assistance. The contributions of TeamPBC employees set the tone for this event.
Volunteers penned colorful, encouraging notes to add a personal touch to the kits. Some of the messages read:
“Keep Smiling, You Matter!”
“People Care about You!”
“When it Rains, it Pours, but There’s Always a Rainbow in the End.”
These phrases capture the essence of resilience. Hopefully, each note will spark hope in the recipients' hearts.
These thoughtfully prepared care kits will go to those in need in Palm Beach County. Kindness costs nothing but means everything. The work done by one may make a difference, but when many come together to achieve a common goal, the impact is everlasting.
