The 90s definitely had nonsensical beauty standards it's crazy how if a woman had any sort of curves she would be considered "fat" Thank God our community didn't oblige to these rules, but the way the media made being a size 0/2 the standard was bazaar. Selena was so confident and beautiful I didn't even know she was designing her own costumes you can tell she loved fashion

Selena will always be an icon who paved the way for her peers. she was pure true talent with no gimmicks and completely authentic. any and everything she wore looked incredible on her. It's so true about us being like family with the Latin community in NYC. I learned how to bachata, had sleep overs, learned about hair care routines, went on vacations and still call my best friends grandmother Abuelita💗 although she isn't my grandmother, but you grow up so close with one another that their family becomes your family too and vice versa.

Everything that she designed and wore could be worn today. So ahead of her time I wonder how far she would’ve went.

Selena’s biggest influences were Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Donna Summer, Whitney Houston, Paula Abdul, Jody Watley and Madonna. She made a huge impact for not only Tejano and Latin music, she also made a huge impact in music all in general. You see a lot of artists that are inspired by Selena today. She continues to inspire many generations. She is deeply missed and her music and legacy will forever live on.💖💖🙏🏼

Thanks for covering Selena. She is a Texas icon. She had great songs and tremendous style. She was very proud of being a Mexican-American woman from Corpus Christi, Texas. She went into the male-dominated genre Tejano and showed that a woman can be successful. Although her music is amazing, fashion was always a big passion of hers that isn't always covered. Until this day she is still influencing many young girls' style.

All I know is that if she was still alive, her kids would’ve been wearing the best clothes to school cuz of their momma’s skills😂😂💗
They would’ve been the “cool and trendy kids” lol😂
Continue to rest in peace Queen🫶🏽🥹✨

Still miss this beautiful, lovely, full of energy, larger than life woman. Definitely remember her fashion vividly (I love that fire engine outfit she wore with the flaming looking bustier) and her curvier figure makes me and my bigger thighs happy :) rest easy Selena 💜

Ok you guys don’t make fun of me. But I’m going to start incorporating some pieces that Selena used to wear and mix them with 1970s fashion with a hint of modern. I’ve always loved her fashion but I’m just going to make it my own.

Her impact is definitely seen in the industry today from her singing style to her fashion. Si una Vez is one of my favorite songs from her she was beyond talented, her body was banging and all of her fits were on point
