    Awesome to see this video and for Chris to be out and about again doing these tours. So many cool setups in the area. That aside, I've been to this man's home before. He's an exceptional person who shares his passion for the hobby with others. I can't wait to get back and hear the new subs. I am sure it is just epic.

      @@doyleshafer hi Doyle 👋 not mad - my advice came across wrong - not my intention. All in all if you’re happy with it that what matters.
      Side question: did you consider JTR over Perlisen? Or you chose latter because you had them in you living space in the first place? Total overkill probably but I sense you would like it 😁

    Love the theater!!! Definitely a SNewbie themed show. Something tells me in a few years, there will be more subs later. I have to get into this one to experience it. The fact we didn't get to your rack tells me the subs steal the show.
    The most simple and easiest upgrade is going to the LS12000 from the 6050. Its a HUGE upgrade, and for cheap. Sell that 6050 while it still has some value. 2k more you have your LS12000.The JVC NZ line of projectors are on sale now that they are about to go into a new model. Maybe waiting until they come out and jumping on that wagon if you have a LOT of cash.
    If you guys get a Houston-Wave tour, I would sign up for this one for sure!

    For clarification, the HDFury devices, including the Vertex 2, do not do actual Tone Mapping. They can enable LLDV and allow some parameters to be set that can be beneficial to projectors.

    • @Rayman-expertsoundpro
      @Rayman-expertsoundpro 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From HD Fury: the HD Fury Vertex2 does offer tone mapping capabilities. Tone mapping is a process used in High Dynamic Range (HDR) video to adjust the luminance and color of images to match the characteristics of a display device. This is particularly important when playing HDR content on displays that do not support HDR natively.
      The Vertex2 is equipped with advanced video processing features, including tone mapping, which allows it to adjust HDR content to be displayed on non-HDR displays while preserving the dynamic range and color accuracy as much as possible. This ensures that HDR content can still be enjoyed on SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) displays without loss of detail or color fidelity.
      If that is the only thing you picked out in the video as notable then think we missed the point...lol

    Great Setup! I’m curious about the JTR subs compared to the SI. I’m running a bunch of SI subs also. It’s a mix of their drivers. I’m super happy with them but have wondered how they compare to the JTR.

    • @tkcdac
      @tkcdac 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The JTR subs I drive have no bottom. Clean bass that makes you give before they do. I too would like to hear both in the same room to compare. Wonder when JTR will start putting out dual 24s?

    • @Rayman-expertsoundpro
      @Rayman-expertsoundpro 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I absolutely love JTRs and I have had many of them in my room. However a 24 is a 24! These are also sealed and the Cap I had in here was ported and it was blast. For my room sealed are a better choice. There is ton of ULF but cleaner and the room is not moaning and groaning as much. I bet I could have 4 RS2s in here as well and would love them but would cost me more than double what these did. Plus I am covering the entire bandwidth with those NSWs

    • @danielwander605
      @danielwander605 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Rayman-expertsoundpro Interesting. Very similar experience. I was running 4 ported SI HST-18s, and then recently switched to all sealed. Two dual-sealed 18's and two sealed 24s. I am liking the sealed subs a lot. It's definitely perceived as a cleaner sound, and no more port chuffing. The 24's are definitely impressive, but wasn't as big of a difference as when I got my first two SI HST-18s in. That was a religious experience.

    • @FOH3663
      @FOH3663 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For many enthusiasts it's about extension down into the single digits, free from distortions, etc.
      A quadrupling of cone/stroke is required for every octave downward to maintain the same output.
      So the max your two 12"s can do at 40hz, would require (32) 12"s down at 10hz!
      The requirements add up fast.

    • @batsonelectronics
      @batsonelectronics 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FOH3663 I used to compete in Crank it ups back in the day, even with a Sony ES cd player ( late 80's ) and a spectrum analyzer, music didn't go down much lower than 20-25 hz. What source material goes down to 10hz ?

    • @FOH3663
      @FOH3663 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@batsonelectronics
      Very cool.
      I participated in one car audio competition in the early 80's.
      It wasn't a crank it up contest, I guess it was a linearity test. They placed a small tripod mounted test mic, and played a test signal ... measuring FR uniformity.
      I didn't win but I received a dot matrix printed paper readout if my freq response!
      It was a '76 Chevette, Alpine head end, 5" door mids, dash mounted Alpine dome/ribbon two-way tweets, supplemented by a dual voice coil 10" sub from SpeakerLab (in a sealed/quasi IB alignment).
      Powered by Alpine and Linear Power.
      Alphasonik active crossover.
      Regarding 10hz and below content;
      soundtracks special effects go as low as 3hz-4hz (War of the Worlds, Blackhawk Down, How to Train Your Dragon, a few examples).
      Of course in music you don't encounter it much, but spectrals on some material show its there.
      Synths, and perhaps the leading edge plosive of kick drum hit.
      Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, the cannon blasts possess single digit energy (Telarc version used 105mm Howitzers from the US Military).
      Before CD, there was few turntables that could track the 7hz blasts ... the tonearm would just fly out of the groove!

      - frequency

      - environment (ie., ground plane outdoors, indoors 3k cubic feet room, etc.)
      For example; 120dB at 10hz is only about 20dB above audibility.

    Those speakers are bordering on commercial concert units.
    There's absolutely no reason for a home 24" subwoofer. Let alone that many.
    The problem is that big electronic companies no longer play in this space, so you have to go one man business JTR etc.
    Also angling your speakers is not necessary if you calibrate your sound correctly. It's not about bass.
    I aim for the best music configuration first, and if you get music right, you don't need to do anything for movies. What I'm hearing there even from here is an after market car audio sounding system with no bass clarity

    • @tkcdac
      @tkcdac 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, this post reeks of arrogance. 2 channel systems and theater setups have completely different goals.
      - No reason for a 24? One. Home owner. He is emulating a popular theater in Wisconsin's sound signature. If that is his goal, he is very close.
      - There are many subwoofer superstars out there like JTR, the delineations are pre-built configurations, vs flat packs and who pairs which crossovers and amps.
      - Angled speakers aren't necessary in a calibrated 2 channel system, with a small listening area. A theater attempting to get full range without hotspots in all seats in a short space may be needed.
      - Music configuration and movies are miles apart when dealing with multi zoned systems.
      - If you think for a SECOND, that this bass response resembles a car audio sounding system with no bass clarity, you have no idea what advances a responsive, tight driver with good calibration can do. I have 6 x 18's and my bass is razer sharp, filling the entire space instantly. Does one have to address the residual patterns that can add up quickly? Of course. Did you see the room treatments here to adequately accommodate this? Doesn't seem like you did. The speaker recording this was simply overwhelmed, leaving you to think incorrect conclusions.
      Lets tame the 2 channel bias a tad. If he wanted one, he would have built it.

      You are missing a few data points here. First a mic on a phone will never be able to pic up the bass and its distorting badly, second you have no idea on the dispersion patterns of the JTRs, third you don't seem to understand the concept of headroom and what that does to sound quality.....you are certainly entitled to your opinion but you lack the information to make definitive and conclusive statements such as yours.
