These are the 6 mistakes my roommate Ben corrected to go from getting into ZERO medical schools to getting into a highly competitive California medical school. Now, you’ll want to see an application that did nearly everything RIGHT - and exactly how he earned acceptances to UCSF & a full ride to UCLA. That video is HERE (th-cam.com/video/fDu58fw2-eY/w-d-xo.html) and I’ll see you there!

Awesome, thank you for all you do. As a non-trad, this information is important.
I do have a quick question, I’m currently 29, would a person who ended up withdrawing twice come college within a 10 year span have any chance? Looking at the application layout, I can’t help but feel disheartened by having those two schools viewed first before getting into the rest of my application.
I do have good reasons for withdrawing, I started a restaurant and have three locations, bringing in seven figures. I would give it all up in order to pursue a doctoral career but walking away from what we’ve built with an unfortunate educational journey seems very risky.

Hey Tyler, thanks for taking the time to watch the video. I appreciate you leaving your time, attention and well-thought out question!
Certainly, I wish I could give you an exact percentage or look into the crystal ball for you so the answer below will have a ton of hedging. I'll share my perspective so hopefully you can see your situation with a new pair of lenses.
I think any person - even a student who withdrew twice within 10 years from college - has a chance. It's certainly NOT zero and it's certainly NOT 100%. It makes a ton of sense to feel like you're going to have to fight an uphill battle from the get.
There are protected spaces (in addition to your personal statement, W&A) on your application to explain your non-traditional journey. There are ways to lean into the literal one-of-a-kind experience you've had running restaurants and I'm confident many medical schools will find that as a compelling asset.
Long story short, I would make sure that non-traditional or not, you're still "competitive" by modern medical school admissions criteria. This means you're NOT exempt from having the grades, the MCAT score, the clinical experience, etc. Then, I'd make sure I leaned HEAVILY into what makes you compelling as an applicant - your restaurant experience and clearly (from your time spending watching my videos!) your desire to become a doctor!
Hope this helps. Always available for further questions!
