I agree. They have a unique sound. Too many groups nowadays sound very similar. Each song has such a groove to it.

This is actually their third comeback! They debuted with Stronger and Spit it out. Rain on Me and Dancing in the Starlit Night was the first comeback and then they also had an English comeback with Obvious.

I really hope their company just commits to the EDM style they did for the “b sides” this comeback and last rather than splitting resources between two songs. The EDM stuff is SO COOL for them and makes them distinct. Exactly like PD said their videos feel like dance cover groups rn not full out THEIR SONGS yet

Spit it Out, Dancing in the Starlight Night, and Giddy Up are my favorites by them (with Dancing in the Starlight Night as my favorite of favorites) but that might be because I was a huge EDM fan before I got into K-pop. I don't want them to completely move away from EDM, but maybe going for something a little more trendy will help them gain more traction before going into heavier EDM again
I think it would be a mistake if they change the music concept. This music concept makes them more unique and they do it right. The traction problem is simply lack of fandom, investment, promotion and market saturation, I don't think that changing just the music concept can make much difference unless they get very lucky and viral with a very unique and catchy thing. Also it seems they are aiming to international fans with this concept and also singing in english. Their music is good, if I would change or add something, would be more catchy movements and expressions or variety stuff (for example Billie got more viral thanks to their member Tsuki catchy and unique expressions) and the most important is how their company manage their events and shows and the comunication with their audience.
i really love their music but their management is so so frustrating. they never communicate or promote them and then randomly drop 2 mvs. they really haven't learned from the mess that was ANS. i hope MAJORS succeeds ❤️

@@Matthew-sl8dx staying silent for months on end and then dropping 2 teasers for each member a week before release isn't enough. they also never stated anything about member VITA who has been to the hospital multiple times and been missing from group activities. now she's participating in the comeback without any statement.

A huge step up from their debut. Salute is giving survival show title group track.
Giddy up's intro feels like a synth tradition Korean song that morphed in early 2000s club mix.
You can tell both songs were done in the same place and I just not a fan of it. I wish giddy up would have had some outside shots. I also really hate the going too black sooooo often. This dances are beautiful and you miss so much!

The songs were actually recorded back in Summer 2021 and the music videos were filmed in September/October 2021

Ayyye! You are on top of this one! As a fan of techno EDM I LOOOOOOVE this! All of Majors’ songs are bops! The only probably I think is that they need to promote but understandable of the limited budget the company has. They need to raise some sort of fundings which I know may be difficult to do. I am just sadden how these girls are extremely talented but are held back. People need to check them out more. Thanks for the reaction.
If I may, please check out Craxy - Trigger. You reacted to their Dance with God but now they released their secondary title track called Trigger and is currently promoting it. Let me tell you…it hits hard!
They all have such strong vocals! Very well placed, full, with active chest resonators and breathing! Usually, kpop girl group singing is too light and airy, too girly, I feel like. These girls however have expressive vocals and their voices are distinct from each other. I hope with time they will discover their unique face in this industry! There is already good potential, in my opinion.

I hope hope hope their company treats them well enough to do more promotion and gives them a chance to become bigger. They really do deserve it.
First song for me didnt really sound as good as I expected, but second was really good cause I personally really like this dance EDM songs, so Im glad some kpop groups go with that style, but sadly this might take their recognition and popularity as cost. So if they wanna grow up, I would say they should try something different.

Majors make some of the best music out right now but then again I am an EDMLUVR sooooo
I think they have SO much potential. They seem to lack confidence and that makes their energy seem low and their facial expressions flat. I hope their company is telling them how wonderful they are! They need cheerleaders right now!

i like Giddy Up bc that edm style is still fun and pretty to me even though its definitely dated lol but part of the melody in the verses that reminds me of stuff like Momolands Wrap Me in Plastic which isnt my vibe, but i rly like the rest of the song

While I like Majors (and ANS)- I am a HUGE Yu Jiwon (Bian) fan. This girl has been through so many groups and so many sounds and she slays every time.

@PD, I figured out why I loved Dancing in the starlit night. The chorus is the same as Alan Walker - Alone LOL. All my favs are like this, RV - Psycho and OneRepublic - Secrets. Its always a Western song!
Thanks for doing this reaction ❤️. Sadly MAJORS is not appreciated by people. I personally love their songs, and I also think they have a lot of potential. Sadly there are things that don't help them, like the low budget of their company since their videos are very simple and poor. Regarding the dance I also think they need to try harder. Certainly their concept is very different and unique compared to most of the current kpop groups and yes that difference looks very daring, possibly that is why they have not been loved but personally it is what I love about them, their instrumentals are great and very catchy. Hopefully soon they will improve much more, which they have already done because they have just had presentations for the first time in these famous Korean shows, in which they were seen with a lot of energy, presence and with more striking costumes. The girls deserve the support and hopefully soon they will be more listened to🥺. Stan MAJORS #MVP 💙💜

So I'm not the only who thinks Giddy Up is 2010s EDM influenced thank you I really like it and even prefer it to Salute (which is also good). I want them to keep doing whatever sound they do but I know not everyone digs this kind of sound

Somehow when I watched these 2 MVs is reminds me of 2nd gen releases. And they're really good brings kind of old school EDM songs into their B-side. I love their B-sides so much rather than the title track. 🔥

I listened to majors since spit it out era - it's still in my playlist. Even thought I don't like some parts of their songs I love Bians(?) powerful voice. Nothing really stood out to me in giddy up - it's to similar to dancing in the starlight night.

The Debut was made with passion and love, the song 'Spit It Out" was great, the costumes unique and the video and camerawork was really good. Compared to the MV of 'Say My Name' from the former group ANS, 'Spit It Out' was a cheap production as all of the projects of MAJORS, but the quality of this comeback is very cheap in all aspects. I really feel sorry for the girls from MAJORS as they are working really hard and being high talented. But K-POP is a tough business and I don't think ANS Entertainment has the financial resources to support MAJORS as they deserve and need. I wouldn't be surprised if the ending will be similar to that of the group ANS.

Sadly this sounds dated to me. They can sing though, but deserve a better song pallet. I liked the second song a bit better though. EDM has been underused in K-pop. I can only remember sugar free and catch me if you can as 2 EDM hit songs.
Yeah, hands down Giddy Up is the better song. Salute felt like the vocals and music were out of sync to me, which was distracting. I do like what Salute tried to do, but Giddy Up was just that much better, I think.

Oooookay so if labels are getting ad revenue from your videos cause of copyright then why do some companies sometimes block review/reaction videos? At the end of the day they're the one seeing the profits anyway. Wow

I was confused when you said you checked out their Dancing In the Starlit Night+Rain On Me debut, and that Salute+Giddy Up is their first comeback, since they released music before DITSN+ROM. Their first tracks were Stronger and Spit It Out, and they also filmed MVs for both of them. They've so far filmed MVs for each of the two tracks on all their three albums. One could argue that maybe they should just film an MV for the lead single of a comeback instead of both tracks. Then there would be more money for that one MV. Why split the little money they have to make an MV for both tracks on an album?
About if Majors should change their style: That depends on what the change means. A huge number of girl groups have come and gone. They have tried various styles, yet disbanded even when trying popular styles. In the end the success relies so much on the quality of the song, the members' skills, and most of all, their budget. Majors has the skills, but they need to find songs that work. Maybe another genre might do them good and bring them more recognition, but only if the tracks that come with the change are good. Just a change in genre is not enough. Many groups have tried with popular genres but bad songs (and questionable talent), with poor results. Then there's the money issue. Time and time again we see what happens when small companies try their luck in K-pop. Very few succeed, with the idols earning nothing during years of work. The few that have done well have had proper vision and access to good material. What are the odds that ANS Ent manages to squeeze that out from somewhere? But I guess the question is not whether they should change their style, but when that will happen. Because the reality is, if what you're trying is not working, you have to change what you're doing. If Majors wont find decent success soon, their options are to either disband, or change what they're doing. If they choose to forge on, we will eventually see a change in style. I don't think it'll be enough to just tweak their track selection a little, but a major revamp is what they'll go for at that point.
Their talent and music it's great but sadly the company don't have any money or they just spend everything on their videos/music and they don't have more to promote them at least on music shows

The problems they have it is lover budget and no fan groups in Korea, Japan and others countrys, i see clip red velvet it so rich and there is salute majors its so pure!
I think they could change their sound to sound more like kpop song and not just a night club song when you can listen only in a night club and improve their dancing skills, i agree but like you said, they have potential and has good singer
