What average coach can get you to back to back championship games with a lousy QB and after losing AJ Brown (not his idea)? What average coach could outcoach Belichick in that divisional round game by tooling the rule book like nobody had ever done? You people that look at nothing but the overall record never account for how a HC gets tooled by owners or front office and is basically up against it even in his own building. Nothing counts to you except the record. Well, what a simple world your world must be.
If you’re judging a first time head coach on his record then you’re doing it wrong. Or any head coach in their first few seasons with a team, really. New coaches don’t get hired because the team is doing great, they get hired to rebuild. Belichick was 5-11 in his first year with the Pats, and it took him a few years to turn the browns around. Is he not a good coach?
Blueprint..Detroit..built offense inside out...best OL in football..great Backs Gibbs/Monty..TE LaPorta..WRs St Brown/Williams...Goff just steers to ship. ALL THAT LEADS TO BEN JOHNSON..build the Detroit print in NE.
Whoever Vrabel/Johnson gets the job...if Kraft doesnt give him THE KEYS..it doesnt work..working with front office clowns/scouting personnel stiffs will get the Pats nowhere. They HAVE to bring thier people...ALL 25 of them.
I’m very excited about the future just because of Drake. Think if we can draft McMillan and then somehow trade for DK Metcalf. Drake would have massive targets. Then get him a couple smart lineman that won’t get penalties every play. Protect his blind side this will be a very dangerous team. Eventually.
Probably an educated guess. Only cause the titans were kinda like the pats an he brought them to back to back AFC championship games an his teams punched ppl in the mouth. Now honestly I d t care who coaches just as long as we r decent
How do people not actually listen to what is said? He says he thinks Vrabel can get them to a Steelers floor “but if he can take them beyond that I don’t know”
Paul is delusional. Buffalo did want the incentives, true. But Buffalo wanted to make sure they lost hosed the Pats. Pats threw the ball. Attacked. Bills ran the ball and punted and refused to score
Mayo being hired as head coach is one of the worst things to ever happen to the franchise. I question if he even knows how to read an intricate NFL playbook (serious). The 1st time I saw that viral pic/tweet of Patriots player Mike Onwenun riding his bike through the Patriots locker room with a bunch of players laughing like hyenas with the header "Biggest Locker room 180 I've seen since Vegas gave Antonio Pierce the keys" I knew the clown show amateur hour New England Patriots had arrived to embarrass themselves in the 2024 football season (which they did). By the way, Antonio Pierce, FIRED. Patriots beat guy Taylor Kyles has made himself look stupid about 200 million times this season over on X.
Whoever thought that the Dallas Cowboys would go 30 years without being in a Superbowl??? The Jets is a different story, they are the Jets, the Jets could screw up a 1 car funeral, obviously.....the Pats before Parcells got there in 1993 and completely transmogrified the franchise, went 9-39 under Rust and MacPherson....Foxboro couldn't draw FLIES! I think there games were blacked out locally
8:30 Perillo is an idiot "The floor is that Vrabel will get you to Pittsburgh level" Vrabel went 6-11 after going 7-10 the year before. His "floor" is a minimum of 6-11......by definition. There should be laws against people like Perillo speaking in public.
What he meant by that is the culture. The, at least in the mix, has an identity, not the worst team in the league football. Tomlin has been coaching Pittsburg for more than two years. You have no ability to understand context and are saying he shouldn't speak in public. You are a hating clown.
Better yet, when the other team takes the lead 16-14 in the 3rd quarter don't kick a go-ahead field goal. Run the ball on 4th down, fail the attempt, and let them keep their lead. Continue that for the remainder of the game.
I don’t think anyone WANTS the team to lose, however at some point it becomes a necessary evil to become competitive at a championship level again! Look at the teams on the top. How were they constructed? Through the draft! You need great players, and you have a much higher chance of getting those types of players with higher picks! It’s rare to get stars through free agency. Think about feee agents, a player their previous team didn’t think was worth the expense! Who knows that player best? It’s not fun, but you have to lose before you win!
I feel that way 99% of the time but this game against buffalo was a must lose situation. I dont support tanking because I think it promotes a losing culture and a losing attitiude. but in my opinion the culture and attitude around the team was already at an all time low, and youre resetting with a new coach anyway.
@DMKFACTOR You mentioned that you have to get good players throughout the draft. You're absolutely right about that and that's where the scouting comes into play. Back when Scott Pioli was the GM, they drafted well when they were winning Super Bowls because they did their homework and they scouted well. But when Bill assumed the GM role, their draft picks didn't last very long. Also, I think this whole obsession with the number 1 pick is crazy because a lot of great players were not in the top 10. Aaron Rogers #24 Ben Rothlisberger #11 Russell Wilson #75 3rd round Dan Marino #27 Just to name a few. Also, they're still going to get the #4 pick in the draft and again, if they scout well, do their homework and draft well, it will pay off. That's my take.
The problem is they were playing the starters. Patriot should have been playing practice squad players just like Buffalo was. There’s no pride in beating practice squad players.
Perillo is the fkn GOAT
Paul’s Paul makes this show much better
"Oh, Paulie. Won't see him no more."
"Bring the cannoli."
Vrabrel is a good coach is a bit of a stretch he is an average coach and his record says it

Who would have thought the Patriots would be the laughing stock of the NFL unreal.
We were a laughing stock before Parcells and then Brady. It isn’t really a surprise that after those guys are gone we go back to it.
I don’t think we’re the only team
They really did it to them self. 8-30 in the last 38 games
