I think it was very good that in his last health column the late , great , Dr Michael Mosley reiterated that IF/ TRE is good for the Heart . He debunked a very bad piece of research that had suggested the opposite. RIP Dr Mosley.
Doctor I have to tell you that the reason that you're only able to do a 14-hour fast in the morning because you feel very hungry, is because you did not eat meat the night before.
There is no way that a person eating a carbohydrate diet will be able to fast without feeling very very hungry.
I eat a big steak dinner at 6:00 p.m. and I don't even feel hungry until 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. or sometimes even 1:00 p.m. the next day. Then I eat my eggs around 12:00 p.m. and I won't get hungry again until 6:00 p.m. when I eat another steak dinner. After the steak dinner I won't feel hungry again until 12:00 p.m. the next day. That's an 18-hour fast. I never feel hungry during my fast and when I get hungry I eat a meal. No snacking!!!! When you get hungry eat a meal. I ate twice a day so my insulin only goes up twice a day. What causes the insulin resistance is the constant eating and snacking and foraging all day long.

I love intermittent fasting. I prefer fasting for 20 hours and having a 4 hour window to eat. I will be 61 years old in July. I weigh 118 lbs. and I'm on no medications at all. I take vitamins, drink a lot of spring water and sparkling mineral water, and do not go to doctors. 👌😊
20/4 will Rock your world! Best thing you can do for yourself. 2 meals a day800-1000 calories a day and excersize lose 2.3 3 lbs a week

@@earnestcharles9513 If she's taking vitamins and stuff for it, she shouldn't. We really do eat a lot more than we really need nowadays. Especially carbs and sugar. I still eat them, but I treat my coffee as part of my 2 PM snack calories since I can't drink it without sugar. That's what breaks my fast, though. I'm generally not hungry at breakfast, and if I'm hungry at lunch time, I won't eat much because it will spoil my dinner.
Hubby & I started changing our lifestyle last March, from SAD to a form of KETO, but we still eat beans of every kind. I make my own: butter, salad dressings; cook everything from scratch; no sugar, flour, pasta, white rice/potatoes; no eating after 7:30 pm; no processed foods; olive, coconut or avocado oil only, increased flax, psyllium husk, chia seeds, and no eating out. Use raw milk to make homemade Greek yogurt, and buy free range eggs from a friend. And we fast lots … maybe eat 10-12 meals a week, with our longest fast being 72 hours! The savings allow us to buy veggies/meat from an organic farmer, plus I can/pickle/preserve everything that comes off my huge garden. We started in March, 2023, I’m no longer insulin resistant, hubby was taking 60 units a day of insulin, and is now down to under 60 units/week! We walk 30 mins a day, and do weights 2x a week. And we’re each down 80 pounds in weight ~ to put that in perspective, we were feeding 160 pound person between us … think of the money we’ve saved! Thanks Dr. Dhand ❤️❤️

@@AXZJ104 thank you! I’m 65, and have NEVER lost weight so easily. We’ve inspired many people around us who’ve also lost loads of weight. Apparently there’s shortages of insulin (as it’s apparently used in”fake meat” production … who knew?), and what insulin there is available is (reportedly) being “watered down??” 🤷♀️ Lots of comments being made. So I’m much less worried now than I might have been before we changed our lives. Good luck! You just gotta do it, God provided food for sustenance, not for us to gorge (and kill ourselves) slowly with. ❤️
Well, we aren’t back in nature. We have adapted. There are no good RC Studies on intermittent fasting. It might be good for cancer.
@@sassysandie2865 well we are all entitled to our own opinions, and although I’ve not been part of a study, having MS, losing a bunch of weight, eating healthy, and moderately exercising have me feeling better than I have in YEARS. I could never lose weight ~ believe me I tried, and was never as successful until I put my diet on notice, and changed my lifestyle. Wish I’d known in my 30’s what I know now. Honestly in my 30’s the doc told me eat less, move more. So, I swam a mile every day, and twice a week at night did aquasize. In addition, I walked 20 miles a week, BUT I never lost a single pound. So there is something to returning to eating like our ancestors and eating to live, rather than living to eat. PS there may be no studies because big pharma doesn’t want us to be healthy there’s no money when we are healthy and don’t need their ministrations.

Everybody used to do it. Back in the 70s, most working class people would have dinner at 5:30 PM and not eat anything again until breakfast the next day. No snacking between meals.
This is a perfect example how the medical industry is so slow to respond. I began a ketogenic lifestyle back in 2017. Yes 7 years ago. Intermittent fasting/time restricted feeding was a known thing back then. And yet the government is still allowing Cheerios to be "Heart Healthy" on the box. Today's nutritional info is criminal. And the doctors and nutritionists who push it should be held accountable.
The product also has a very high level of glyphosate as well as a highly toxic unapproved pesticide.

Not 'slow to respond' my friend - suppressed, censored, bribed or compromised. I work in health and health research. We have had this knowledge for years, but trying to get anything published that might cost some powerful industry money - like Kellogg's for example - is an academic nightmare. Especially when colleagues, desperate for money to fund research, accept 'financial support' from the powerful industries involved, which compromises their work. If they can prove something that the industry sponsor wants to publish, they will be rewarded with further financial incentives. If they prove something that their Industry Sponsor doesn't 'like', the sponsor will refuse and block publication, and they will get no further 'support'.

in 2022 I nearly died. I was 20st plus very ill., high blood pressure, etc. started Dr Morsley 800 fasting. Sep 23. I eat from 12 /8 I've lost 3 stone. I am eating same meals. as before.. all my meals and cakes all.homemade so I know what I am eating.

I have been a Type 2 diabetic for about 30 years. I began the 16/8 method, on April 20, 2024, along with a "keto" style diet and walking one mile per day. I cut my daily BP/Diabetic meds in half. It is now June 15 and I have lost 20 lbs, my blood glucose levels are now NORMAL, my BP is now NORMAL. In July I will find out how my cholesterol levels have responded and I expect them to now be NORMAL. NO neuropathy in my feet and NO blurred vision anymore. This has WORKED for me.
Walking bare feet on grass or sand and Forrest bathing r also therapeutic for metabolic patients 😊

This is the way we were meant to be. Constant energy and alertness, no more mood swings and a flat tummy to boot

I fast till usually 4pm. Eat a regular dinner, less than I used to. I eat fruit if I want a sweet snack. I'm down 16 lb.from a month ago. I don't eat hardly any bread or wheat.
I think you're only supposed to eat once a day. I will eat around 2:00 p.m. To 4:00 p.m. once a day and a few snacks during those hours. I feel a lot better and I have lost a few lb this week when I started doing this.

I have eaten one meal a day for the last 14 years, it is my default eating habit... there were times when this got changed because of social circumstances ..... I am never hungry or never full..... I have no goals, I do not exercise or eat special foods..... My work and life style is active and comfortable..... I am 73 live rural, take care of all the chores, live alone and still draw a pay cheque working..... oh yes!!! I get a regular blood panel done once a year and check the results myself..... the biggest thing a person can do to maintain health and energy is to believe you are healthy no matter is your body is going thru some pain..... trust it.... AND DO NOT FEAR

I love your philosophy. I am not entirely convinced because I get scared of oesophageal cancer after an endoscopy revealed quite severe ulceration. But that seems to be better now after a heavy dose of a Proton Pump Inhibitor. And this is my dilemma. I am now more or less off any PPI and began to realise that all my fretting about what to eat was making me MORE stressed. Also I noticed that the acid reflux occurred mostly when I was gardening, or bending over. So I feel very much in tune with what you are saying. A certain acceptance of getting old and trying to reduce fear...sounds good to me.

Eating makes me hungry. I enjoy food immensely but have noticed that I can wait many hours between meals. Meat and animal fat are particularly satisfying, so I basically embrace the opposite of everything pushed on me from without.

Hi, I have been living this life style for over 50 years. I’m 72, slim, not on any meds because I don’t need any. (Get check ups and lab work yearly) I eat a lot of fruits & veg’s, eat lean meat. I’ve gone away from the typical snacking back in my late 20’s. People comment that I don’t look or act my age. (Always nice to hear) I love being out doors through out the year. I guess I am doing well and managing to stay away from doctors and hospitals. So all in all I have SAVED A-LOT of MONEY. I am a nurse of many years as well so I guess paying attention to the patients I care for I learned a lot.
I'm doing OMAD now (or 23:1) and it is genuinely a life changer for me. I was in the ICU 18 months ago and now all my tests are saying I'm ok.

FEELING GREAT. We've been doing this for a few years. No jibby jabby for anything. Never had a cold since Delta. I'm 61 and girlfriend 52. Currently on day number 6 with no food. 31 miles on the mountain bikes yesterday. Consume around 2.5 litres of water 💧 each day. One of the biggest issues is the mindset. Treat your doctors surgery as if it is ultra processed so stay away from it. 😂
That isn't very healthy, IMO, in fact I have a hard time believing it, especially if you say you are getting that much exercise. Your body needs some protein so it will utilize the protein in your muscle which is hard to replace especially when you get older. Starving yourself isn't the same as IF.

First meal last night since last Sunday and 30 miles off road mtbs this morning. No drama. What works for on doesn't work for another. Know you body and know your limits. When eating most of our diet is protein. We do consume carbs but not many if at all. Carb up the night before we go on long ride follow day. Carbs on the ride too usually via 90 grams of carb sachets in the bottle along with bars etc. Usually do the 5,6,7 day's fast to reign things in if I've been slacking. Don't really do less than 2,3 days fasting. 2-3 days helps replenish the white blood cells which contribute to the immune system.

@@madplanet3351 I'm sorry, but maybe I am missing something. You initially said you where fasting for 3 to 7 days with nothing but water. That is dangerous over the long term. You are stressing your heart by not eating enough protein to build back heart muscle which means you are not as healthy as you think. You are now 6 days with no food - you said - except for all the carbs. That is not advisable for any athlete or anyone else.
Only eat between one and six PM in my eighties now and feel very fit ,Take no medication of any kind.

I started intermittent fasting four years ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for my health. I only eat between 3 and 8 PM and I can honestly say that I am never hungry.
I started a year and a half ago. I had lacquer poisoning that got into my bone marrow. After 9 years and attempting everything possible the pain got so bad that I knew I'd be in a chair on a permanent basis. I also have type 2 with severe nueropothy in my feet. It also has affected my vision and fingers. After less than 2 months of IF 18 hours a day, I reversed my diabetes. Neuropathy is still there but much better. After approximately 10 months my bone marrow pain is much better. About half of what it was. I'm not sure if things will continue to get better but I'm maintaining my eating habits.

This is fascinating! I started running early in the morning when I was 28. I have always run and done other forms of exercise before eating, so fasting has always been a part of my life. Over the years my fasting has evolved to about 16 hours per day and I am rarely hungry before exercise, never realizing that it was improving my health. I'm now 74 and hope to beat my father who passed away at nearly 101.
I have doing 16:8 for 2 years and I feel good. It keeps my weight down and energy up
Started I/F a little over two years ago and lost 40 lbs. Have been able to keep it off since. It just becomes a way of life not to be eating and snacking all the time. I'm 88 and feel great as a result. Thanks for you helpful vids Doc .

Been doing time restricted eating for maybe 5 years. Simply put, it is more right and natural. We’ve gone so far off the rails that we need to all reset and go back to just doing the necessary.
I'm hearing every word you say! I've had great results with IF. I like 20/4 with eating between noon and 4pm. I don't get hungry and I've lost belly fat. However, I recently had a CT and then an MRI which show lesions in my pancreas. I've refused surgery, radiation and chemo. I got 2 opinions from major medical facilities in Ohio and Buffalo. I don't do drugs ... legally prescribed or illegally. I'm very selective and eat a whole food plant diet. I treat every day as a gift. I'm listening to your tips and I'm very happy to have found you. I urge others to stay away from doctors (except you). Please keep doing what you're doing! People need to hear your words.

It's so true, I tried it, and felt wonderful. Then I retired, and was eating out of boredom. Have to find my will power again.
I find nuts and fruit are good to snack on. Walnuts are great. good for lowering colesterol too.

Eating 3 small meals a day, no snacking, was the very best health decision I ever made. You really do not need to eat very much. I have more energy than when I ate whenever I felt like it.
Not eating between meals is a game change! This idea of "grazing" is very bad.

Personally, I do the 20:4 intermittent fasting. I'm a busy mom with three children under four and just so busy that focusing on that 4-hour window works for me to get my daily calories in. I feel fantastic, already down 32lbs since February and my pre-pregnancy clothes are starting to fit again. I've also noticed that my body has a smaller appetite and doesn't like if I eat either high-sugar meals or just things that aren't great for you.
For example, I was at a kid's birthday party and figured I would just have a hot dog, a scoop of ice cream with a few toppings and one cake pop. I ate the hot dog and was halfway through the dessert, but then I suddenly felt extremely full and my stomach was not happy. I excused myself and went for a walk, but I just threw up what I had just eaten. I still had a bit of a sugar buzz, but after some water, I started to feel better.
Since then, I've had to politely refuse some food and people are not happy with me. "Just ignore the calories! It's a special occasion! You can have this or that or have this cheat meal!" It's not about that. It's about debating whether or not I'm going to feel sick from eating something so greasy or so sugary. Which is apparently hard to understand for some people
I get the comment ‘it would be rude not to’ and used to find it so hurtful. I now have the confidence to stay strong in the knowledge that it’s my body and I care for it.
@@annettestephens5337 A host makes the guest feel comfortable, offers food and drink and also graciously accepts a No Thank You. That is also part of making the guest feel at home and comfortable. Funny how 'pushy' hosy don't see themselves as being rude.
It is easy, once you get used to it. I don't get hungry until around 1 pm at all usually.
This is the best advice for all the reasons mentioned in this video. I was 90 Kg about 6 years ago and hadn't even noticed putting any weight on because my clothes still fitted. Then I decided to try the 5/2 diet with Dr.Moseley God rest him, but I couldn't do it. Next I tried the juicing diet and got on better with it. I did that for 1 year and lost 10 Kg. Then I gave it up and tried Keto which I didn't like so I adapted it as a vegetarian and then introduced lots of fish into my diet with mediterranean vegetabls in an olive oil salad and a menu far too long to recount here. I choose what I will eat every day and make it fresh. I make my own bread with nuts, seeds and cinnamon and I eat between 8.00am but usually 10.00am and 3 or 4 pm. Then I fast and am never hungry. At 74 yrs old I feel the fittest I've ever been now I seem to have got over many health challenges in the last 3 to 4 years. I believe I suffered during Covid and will never have another RNA vaccine include Covid or Flu which I believe pharma are producing soon. The word Covid and vaccine are never mentioned in my doctor's surgery (UK) along with insulin resistance or endocrine problems. I became allergic to all the medicines I was prescribed and am down to just 2, one of which I promised to take once a week instead of 7 days a week called Bempodeic Acid because I couldn't accept the side effects. I have a herbalist friend who has helped me a lot and I don't go to the surgery unless I have to as I don't feel understood or that access to specialists is available but that it is restricted. I wonder if my age determines whether I"m deserving of treatment but there is silence from my doctors. So many things went wrong in the last 3 / 4 years considering I was fit and well before Covid struck that I'm embarrassed by the list. My doctor will only treat what is the presenting problem according to a basic blood test. This is not the NHS that my parents fought for. Thank you Dr. Dhand.

GPs are independent businesses not NHS, they invoice NHS and pharma companies pay them for prescribing drugs.

Yes this is true. Intermittent fasting is a very powerful tool along with regular exercise in reversing chronic diseases like T2D and hypertension. I've been doing IF every other day (18-6) for more than a year together with at least 1 hour brisk walking 5 days a week and my blood sugar and high blood pressure went back to normal, the reason why I am no longer in medications.
Dr Dhand, you are one of the very few doctors I feel able to trust.

I have been doing intermittent fasting for one year and I LOVE IT!
As someone with Gilbert syndrome (a mild liver dysfunction) intermittent fasting is not recommended for me. Anyway, I keep the insulin spikes at bay by eating high protein, low carb, no sugar, no processed foods. I also work out 4 days a week, my body composition is great.
Years ago, I used to fast 24hrs straight. I started with 12 hours. Interestingly, I then could smell better, for instance a slice of tomato or pieces of celery from kilometers away :) Adding a few hours over time, I eventually could fast easily for 24 hours once a week. As an experiment, I once fasted for 50 hours. The experience was so revealing : my mind was clear like never before, my mental capacity was quick and sharp. It was a marvelous feeling ! And, unexpectedly, I had to study intensively for a few days. I say it again, it was a great feeling. ~~~~ That is when you realize how much energy we spend... digesting. One more thing : after 50 hours, because of how I felt, I did not want to eat ! Thank you Dr. Dhand for proposing this approach to your viewers !

@@gedofgont1006 Yes, I do. I just did yesterday. Sometimes I have just one meal in 24 hours. I do not necessarily plan fasting as I used to (usually the same day), it just happens... But I might start the same plan again.

I have been practicing this for 20 years, it is so good for my body!
I do a complete fast every Friday, and 18, 6 the other days.
I do Pure barre daily, clean whole foods diet. I have an IPA beer or glass of wine daily.
I hydrate and do drink 1 cup of coffee ( morning) and herbal tea .
I only do distilled water, cook most meals myself.
I am 64 and look forward to a long healthy life.
Apparently, the latest research is showing that daily fasting can be overly stressful, cause the metabolism to slow down after a while, and 18hrs isn't long enough to really get the deep benefits anyway. Better to do a longer fast, 36hr+, a few times a month.

I am pretty much the same though every quarter I will do a 2 day waterfast and 7 day once a year. 62 and medication free.

And the information I've shared is coming to me from various health and fitness gurus on youtube, and they are pretty unanimous in their conclusions. Also, from my own experiences, 18/6 really messed me up and it took me a long time to recover from it. Daily fasting is old news and no longer regarded as the best way to go about this.

Feeling a little bit of hunger for a few hours isn't dangerous. It gives a reward in the form of extra pleasure when you do have your meal. Also you will get time and inspiration to prepare an extra tasteful meal to enjoy. When you eat less you also save money that you can spend on higher quality ingredients for your meal.
I starten out with skipping breakfast. The next step was to eat lunch later and dinner earlier. Eventually the time between lunch and dinner was only a few hours, so I decided that I could cope with being hungry for like two hours, resulting in now only eating once a day, most days. This have made me loose weight, feel much younger and reducing the cost for food significantly and it wasn't even difficult!
My daughter went overseas last October and I stopped making dinners. The days were very short and I made a big lunch and drank green tea in the late afternoon. During Lent I stopped eating sweets and no wine with lunch. My weight had been 87 kilos for years then I checked after 5 months of this regime and it was 81 kilos. People commented you’ve lost weight and I could feel my clothes were baggy and needed alterations. Now my daughter is back and we continue the same routine and we both feel great. It’s not hard to have a rest from eating and snacking all the time and the the benefits are enormous

If I didn’t eat for a whole day, I would have the worst headache, be extremely tired and feel like crap.

I had the same issues. I decided I would eat breakfast at 6:30 am and stop eating by 4. Those were really the hours that I needed fuel based upon my calorie expenditure. On the weekends I may not eat breakfast if I’m not hungry. It worked wonders on my high liver enzymes and glucose levels.
I lost 54 pounds in 6 months, on a fairly mild keto diet. Wasn't hard, once I quit sugar. 2 weeks off sugar, my cravings and constant hunger subsided. Bought some new clothes! Feeling good!

Int fasting has become my way..7am to 1pm... healthy whole foods low carb breakfast then lunch...then no food (and no hunger) for rest of the day. My weight has stabilized. I am happy with this method....
I will still break my fast to join friends or family on occasion...(I'll often skip lunch if I have a supper coming up that night)
I do the same. A lot of people wait to eat later in the day, but I usually have breakfast early, then lunch, and fast the rest of the day.
I used IF to put my chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia into remission again and in the process lost around 80lbs. I have stuck with a 20/4-18/6 routine for a number of years now and I have so much less inflammation and the weight has stayed off. I had tried so many things before but this worked so well for me! (I'm now 65 btw)

I eat twice a day at 10.00 am and 5.00 pm. This has helped me first to lose 7 pounds and second to keep it off which has always been my problem.

It’s amazing how the body adjusts to intermittent fasting. When I ate a carby diet I always needed breakfast. But since eating a carnivore style diet I can easily fast ....it’s incredibly satiating and keep my insulin constantly low and level.
I start eating at 6:30 am and I stop eating at 2-3 pm..so that is 15-16 hours of fasting. I didn't need to lose weight - just doing it to feel great and have more energy and clear thinking. I have coffee and a flax seed “Aussie bite”. Around 11am I may eat some oatmeal and fruit.
Around 1:30 I eat a huge salad with beans and veggies. I only take thyroid Rx. I’m 76 and I walk and stretch daily…….most people I know are overweight and on numerous Rx drugs. In the last 10 years I have lost friends and family members to cancer and heart attack and brain tumor.
My blood pressure dropped so low (85/55) after 8 days of 18 hour (6 hour eating window) intermittent fasting that I had to reduce my 3 BP medications down to 1 and it has been 125/74 average since. Miracle process.
I have been doing '16---8' one to two times a week. Zero problems.
I recently tried a full 24 hour fast. Well, it was a lot easier than I thought. So now I do a full 24 hour fast every 2 weeks. BTW, my BMI is 24.5, RHR 54, BP 118/81.

Intermittent Fasting/Time Restricted eating has been a game changer for me. Most days, I eat in an 8-10 window….and fast 14-16 hours. I also workout before I eat breakfast.
My weight is ideal, body fat excellent with very low visceral fat, I have tremendous energy, and according to my Function Health reports I’m 14.2 years younger Biologically than I am chronologically.
Again-game changer!!
I’m 71 and I have been doing 5 day water fasts twice a year and and do a lot of fast walking I reckon I’m a lot healthier than people half my age.
I did IF while in keto.
Changed to carnivore and fast breakfast most mornings. I have a last meal before 7pm.
Have reduced weight. Reduced inflammation.
16:8 works best.
I tried intermittent fasting and it works. My second toe was aching painfully. I skipped breakfast and lunch and I realised the pain had reduced significantly. I think it's helpful.
Your body will literally eat itself but it eats the garbage stored in your body. I'm working toward doing one.
I intermittent fast everyday for at least 16 hours with no problems. I eat within a 8 hour or less feeding window. Low carb/low sugar with a focus on protein, healthy fats and fiber. Typically in the afternoon, I’ll eat a steak and a few eggs with some greens/avocado and some cheese. This will keep me satiated throughout the day!
My MD has been trying to get me to intermittently fast for a while ( she suggests the 6/18). After watching your video I will redouble my efforts...Thank you for all your sensible information.
Start delaying breakfast and eating dîner earlier, going keto low carb helps as well, by reducing insulin spikes
I have been on the carnivore diet for the last 5+ years, 2 years ago I started doing 1 to 5 day fasts to break my snacking habit and that worked.
I continued with the random fasts but this month I am doing alternate day eating / fasting :)
I am SO glad you mentioned not eating first thing in the morning!!! I simply don't like to eat in the morning- not sugary treats, not veg, not not anything but some tea until after 11 am, preferably after 1 pm. I've always been this way. But the so-called experts, such as cereal sales, say "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." 😂 Not a sugary cereal or donuts to break that fast, it's not.

So glad to see you do this topic. I’ve been intermittent fasting for 15 years. Every annual checkup with my doctor shows zero inflammation, which blows him away. In fact, it convinced him to do IF as well. I’m 64 years old.

I eat my first meal between 10:30 and noon, second meal 5:30 and 7:00 . I’ve been eating like this for more than twelve years and I feel like it’s been beneficial.
I’ve been intermittent fasting for several years. It never has resulted in weight loss, but it has made my cholesterol and blood sugar decrease. I have IBS, and on my fasting days I couldn’t go to the bathroom. It set me up on a vicious cycle of constipation/diarrhea. Also I wasn’t getting enough food everyday because I can’t eat enough during 2 meals. Now I eat 3 meals a day, but I stop eating about 8 pm and have breakfast between 10-11. The only thing that works for weight loss for this post-menopausal woman is to eat a consistent number of calories everyday, and moderate daily exercise. Thanks for your informative videos! ❤
I also discovered I had sharper thinking and better energy with intermittent fasting. I fast until 1pm and do not eat after 7pm.
I'm trying to work up to just one meal per day.
I am on the 5-2 fasting since April and love it - more energy and losing weight gently and gradually....
Intermittent fasting has been absolutely life changing. I lost 75 pounds over 5 years. Whilean awesome tool for weight loss, the better part is now i know how to KEEP IT OFF!! Plus, now my blood sugar is in normal range. Its truly one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
I am 62 and have been intermitten fasting year and half .
Love it ,i eat twice a day nothing after 7
Drink 3 liter,s of water everyday .
Also do 3 to 5 day water fast once a month
Plenty of energy sleeping 5 hours a nite and feel great in body and mind .
Still have a belly but going down slowly 👍

I keep healthy by avoiding ALL sugars, no processed or packaged foods and zero carbs. I am 84. Got rid of diabetes after 25 years and now have very normal blood pressure. I am a carnivore and daily only eat 4-8 eggs in lots of butter, rib eye steaks with an occasional lamb, bacon or salmon.
I practice intermittent fasting every day & will never eat any other way! My fasts are usually 20-22 hours out of every 24. When I was a beginner, I started with about 15 hour long fasts and worked my way up. Now, it's truly joyless & effortless! The benefits are so amazing. I have also done a few longer fasts up to two days long & am planning on doing more of those. I have experienced all the benefits you mentioned and more!
In 2012 I followed the 5:2 way of eating and it completely changed my entire way of living and viewing food. My relationship with food changed forever. It took me a year and a ton of journaling and mental work, but I fixed my unhealthy relationship with food, forever!! I was in my 30's and now in my 50's. Dr. Dhand, I am so happy you exist in this world and that I am lucky enough to have access to your videos. Thank you!
I am 71, and I do keto and IF which has allowed me to lose weight and work on reducing inflammation. It works. I feel better. It has allowed me to quit hypertension medication.
I maintain an 18/6 window on a wfpb diet as well as one 24 hr waterfast each
week. I am on zero medications at 62 years of age even though I have PPMS. My robust outdoor lifestyle remains the same regardless of fasting schedule. I would highly encourage anyone to try and adopt this habit.

I have been doing this for 25 years and my weight has stayed the same . Up or down 2 to 4 pounds depending on hydration. this is a very good explanation and anyone I have suggested this to has had positive results if they stick with it. Thank you Dr. Suneel.
IF isn't a one size fits all. The needs of menopausal and post menopausal women in regard to IF are unique and need to be treated as such.
20 / 4 for a year or so now, with various longer fasts mixed in, just did 7 days.
I feel incredible. Weight has gone from 90kgs to 70kgs. High Blood Pressure fixed. Gout massively reduced.

I'm 81, and last year, I developed polymyalgia rheumatica. I was put on 15mg of prednisone and immediately felt better. However, as time progressed and I gradually reduced my prednisone dose, the polymyalgia came back with a vengeance. I coped well by taking a couple of 500mgs of paracetamol or 2 x 250mgs of ibuprofen. However, I still felt drained of energy and hated the idea of going for even a short walk. About 7 days ago, I fasted for 24 hours, only drinking water or tea/coffee. I had a normal meal and fasted again for 24 hours. I almost immediately felt better. Now, 7 days later, I'm relatively pain-free and have my vitality back. Doing the Wim Hof breathing two days ago has also helped, and I shall repeat the breathing today. I hope this helps PMR sufferers out there. 👍
I have been using intermittent fasting for years. I usually make sure to have coffee and water til time to eat...first meal anywhere from 1-3pm. I have found I am more focused and achieve much more work being done when intermittent fasting. Thanks Dr. Dhand for explaining the benefits of intermittent fasting. 👍🤗

I've lost 4.5st which corrected my triglyceride levels, blood pressure and diabetes 2 risk. I'm now off all medications. I use IF, just one meal a day and one desert, both of which are low or even zero carbohydrates. So I fast for something like 22 hours per day.
It is our DEVIATION from a Low Carb, Whole Foods Ketogenic Diet with Intermittent Fasting and occasional Prolonged Fasting that is responsible for the accelerating epidemics of Chronic Diseases we observe today.
The problem is that much of the research that challenges the 'Money-Making Narrative' is suppressed, censored, or compromised. I work in health and health research. We have had this knowledge for years, but trying to get anything published that might cost some powerful industry money - like Kellogg's for example - is an academic nightmare. Especially when colleagues, desperate for money to fund research, accept 'financial support' from the powerful industries involved, which compromises their work. If they can prove something that the industry sponsor wants to publish, they will be rewarded with further financial incentives. If they prove something that their Industry Sponsor doesn't 'like', the sponsor will block publication, and they will get no further 'support'.
