Thank you for this amazing interview with Retired Brig. Gen. Bornman. He is an amazing man with 3 life times of experience and stories. It would be great if you could bring him back for some more stories. You must really try to get Frans Fourie from 1 & 4 Recce for a chat. Another great man to have a chat with. Thank you for your work, Toni.
We were in charge for maintaining the Norex and Caftan Security border fence in Borries time in Musina.Good friend and a very clever Officer!!! Great respect for the General.God bless!!!
What a fellow! Good and interesting interview; surprised Gen. Bornman didn't mention Jan Smuts and Louis Botha, both outstanding leaders and men. Thanks for this video.
Up to 1985 the SAP contolled that area against Zimbabwe. The SADF only held Beit Bridge. In fact the SADF only took over the bridge in about 81/82? And only because they managed to convince the government (PW Botha being the ex minister of Defence, he favoured the Army) that Beit Bridge was a statigic point and the SAP couldn't hold it if attacked as they never owned artillery and large mortars. Being restricted by law to the 60mm mortar only.
Thank you to Fighting Men for this video. God bless. Koos and Team
I have such respect for these Afrikaans gentlemen, full of honour.
Always salt of the earth. Never anything else.
What an honor to listen to this warrior. Huge respect and thanks Tony, as always.
thanks Jim
