It's probably due to the nostalgia factor since Recovery was the first album I listened to and fell in love with, but god that song is hard to listen to for me without getting emotional

The album is slow to grow to you for me took me a while until I constantly put the album on repeat. As you Are, Shameless, Prisoner and Real Life are my most favourite on this album.
I think this album really show the world that he could write so many songs on this album have references to a lot of things out in the world for example in the night is a song he wrote about Marilyn Monroe actually in Marilyn Monroe's bedroom of a house that her and Joe DiMaggio had together.

She dances to the same song everyday and is forced to remember what she went through as that song was connected to the assault. It's some of his best storytelling and one of his saddest songs disguised as upbeat
