  • Can you believe it, it has been one year on TH-cam and boy has it been a blast.So for this big moment I made something I have been looking forward to for many years a peated single malt whiskey.So in this video I will be going from Grain to glass in the process to make a single malt whiskey.Thank you Prohibition Home brewers for sending us this super grain.

    One year! ? That went crazy fast. Thank you so much for your hard labor and so honest trials , highs and errors!! No pretenses. Weather here is finally warming up. Figs, grapes , plums, elderberries, etc coming in. Every time I think about doing a fruit wash I alway think of your teachings. Running lemon 🍋 brandy today !

    From North Georgia here. You would make an old hillbilly moonshiner proud. Maybe old school straining techniques. Wish I had some of that peat moss. I'm working on chard Oak and other local woods. My peach brandy is pretty good. Ausante

      Peach brandy sounds awesome need to do a brandy again, crazy to see what the impact of wood is.

    Congratulations on your first year! I have seen some of your first few videos without subscribing but you've got mad skills! I am binge watching your videos and, oh yeah, I'm going to give that banana rum a try. You're so informative on your additions post distillation that I could take a store bought white rum and kick it up a notch. Keep up the great work!

    Hi Beaver. Liked this one. I have made a single malt (unpeated) very early in ky journey. Turned out ok but not the best thing I have made. Still have a bit to learn it seems. In any case, i have a few questions:
    1. Why did you bother sparging when you added the grain back? This does not make sense to me.
    2. Did you have any pukes? My single malt attempt puked twice, all the way through to the parrot, hell of a mess...

      He fermented on the grain in a separate bucket.

    So this was just a single distillation? I have a tough time getting anything palatable off my rig that just 1 time though.

    You mentioned only 5 KG of heavily peated malt. Was that the only ingredient in your mash?

    What is the Relation Water to Barley in your Recipe?

      In this video it was 6kg of barley with 23l of water to end up with 20l of wash off the grain
