I have to apologise for the annoying mic sounds in this video, i didnt even notice while editing somehow so hopefully it wont annoy you too much. i just got a new wireless microphone set up for my videos and im still figuring them out properly,I will fix it for the next video. hope you like the video nonetheless 🩷thank you for all your support as always!
I have a Windows 11 PC and a Windows laptop because the storage and upgrade options were more affordable than Mac. Since Warp isn't available for Windows, I dual-booted Kali Linux and set up a coding partition with everything you mentioned in this video, WARP is now available for linux. I love your channel so much! I have a bachelor's degree in Sociology and am transitioning into Information Technology. My mentor recommended learning Python for automation and scripting, so here I am. I'm currently pursuing my MSCIA from WGU and might go back for a master's in Data Analytics, as I did a lot of that during my undergrad studies.
I was definitely sleeping on the black Macbook. I haven't gotten to purchase a new MacBook yet, but hopefully I'll reach my savings goal to get it in 2024 and I'm definitely getting the black now. This video is so helpful! I'm so excited to be getting this new MacBook and I'll definitely be coming back once I've gotten it.
Oh yes! I can't tell you how many of my colleagues have seen my matte black one and they run out to grab one themselves. The color is so good in person!
Chrome used to be known for storing all of your credentials in an unencrypted text file. I only use it to test compatibility. I'd never use Chrome as my main browser because Google can't be trusted.
i would also recommend adding Maccy to that list, keeps a list of stuff you copy and paste along with time stamps and where you copied it from. i find it useful if you need to copy and paste a bunch of stuff, so you can copy everything in one go and paste in one go too.
Very interesting. I recently brought an M3 MacBook as my old one had developed a few interesting quirks. I had home-brew on my old laptop, but on my new one I will just use Docker and run containers and develop and deploy in those. For me, I got the impression that I was cluttering things up with my over-enthusiastic use of brew (I had trouble when new versions of Postgres appeared and I tended to lose my existing db). So, I'm running containers with Postgres, mongodb and other things. I was wondering if that was something you were planning on doing? I hope 2024 is a very good year for you and those you care about.
thank you so much for this video!!! i’ve been a windows user all my life and now that i (saved for ages and) bought a mac i was just so lost lol thank u really!!
could you automate the process, like click on one button and copy all of your programs ,browser extensions, your ide ...Anyway this video is very helpful.
I’m new to your channel and I just noticed a couple of shorts. What was the point of you getting the Apple monitors and switching back to the widescreen?? What was wrong with the macs? I’m looking into a setup. Thanks! Also your channel is super cute and a total vibe even though my aesthetic is the exact opposite in real life lol ✨🩶🩷
Please answer this : What is the browser viewport resolution of MacBook Air M3 13.6" is it 1400x800 ? And what is the browser viewport resolution of MacBook Pro 14" ?
I prefer Firefox with vertical tabs and other extensions. Though I've used it for almost a decade now. Dark Reader, Ghostery, ublock, Duckduck, Https Everywhere, and Auto Discard Tabs.
I've been using warp on my work MacBook but my main computer is running arch and I'm therefore using hyper, I think that hyper is more pleasant than warp, I think that warp is a bit too bloated to my taste
Hi. I am a newbie in coding. I have a Acer Nitro 5, 16gb ram and 1650 GTX . I'll wish to change my laptop for a Macbook but I want to buy a laptop to during me a lot of yeahrs ( min 6 years). I try to pay the Air m3 with 16 ram! This is enough? Or I try to buy Macbook pro m3 with 16 gb RAM? Or M3 PRO? Thank you.
From my experience it works great, compiles very fast, faster than the intel chips. But the downside is you can’t load native libraries with JNI if they are compiled for intel, can be a bit of a nightmare this one. IntelliJ is fine, Docker is also mostly fine, JDK is also fine, brew is also fine. You might want to bump up the RAM though, 32GB should do you good
I have masters in molecular biology and have been a bench scientist for 5 years, but I'm really intrigued by bioinformaticians like yourself. I'm thinking about taking some online classes but is learning python overwhelming? I have some experience with R but not much. I'm just so fascinated by DNA sequencing and the drastic reduction in cost that will allow us to really understand diseases from a genetic stand point. Debating the career move.....🤔
Python has a similar syntax with R, so the learning curve for you shouldn’t be too steep! That said, the things you do in R can also be done in Python! Try learning it first and see if you enjoy it
hey, may i know what kind of dongle ( usb hub ) that you used when u are using the M1 macbook that only has type C port ? bcs right know im using UGreen brand but it getting so hot time by time
@agenomicsphd @10:25 you mention editor vs terminal woes. I learned a few years after using it, that you can in fact click to any character to go back and fix errors. You just have to hold the Option/Alt key while you do it 😃
I’m not gonna lie, when you said efficient performance for Google Chrome. I chuckled a little. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but my environment of over 200 installations, it’s a resource hog.
You’re right, it’s a major resource hog. One commenter mentioned Firefox which is good, but also a lot depends on which code editor you use. If it’s VSC which is free/very good/MS product then Edge should be your browser of choice.
She’s not a developer though, idk why people keep bringing up the word developer. She’s a bioinformatician, tells you enough that she analyzes experimental data using existing software/packages…
I’m not a software developer nor is everyone who codes a software developer.. you also could just skip the parts of the video you’re not interested in or watch another video
Nothing much in here guys! Its just an average MacOS user trying to showcase their primitive coding skills (Which they claim to have). All the applications are bs. BTW I use Arch!

The black color on the Macbook looks so sleek! Absolutely gorgeous
Love that we are going through all types of themes, backgrounds, addons just to help us cope from the nightmares of code grinding.
Omg anytime i see you have uploaded, my dopamine spikes up ❤ there's almost an instant motivation to finish off my coding tasks ✨
this makes me feel so happy!! thanks so much for your comment 🥹🫶
It's more relaxed to watch this at 0.75 speed

Thank you for the Finder Tips , I found it really useful since I moved from Windows.
It is so interesting all tech channels are using beautiful models to present it...
I would love to have an air m2 I would be happy to work but well not all of us have the recovered ones I love your videos 😍

its a great machine tbh. has all the perks of the pros, with the cheaper price of the air
A great video! It encourages me to work on my programming… Already waiting for the next video! 🙌🏽

Chrome is also known for being a memory hog. Web devs use it for it’s dev tools but I still use FF and Safari over Chrome.
a couple people suggested firefox too, i used that a few years ago but not in ages. you guys are tempting me to go back and give it another go!
Ctrl+RMB is not necessary for get options for things. You can simply hover over the thing you want to right click and tap the touchpad with 2 fingers
You really convinced me with Warp, I’ll definetely check it out
Thanks for your video! I've installed a few of the apps you suggested and they are awesome 😊
what a based woman, great software recommendations, perfect explanations.. god, i'm in love)
cant wait for the vscode video!
Minor thing, if you install brew first, you can brew -cask install chrome to install chrome rather than using another browser

very informative video new sub!!

watching this without having a macbook😭😭😭

I tried to setup ssh on my mac using warp. And it connected to the remote host but didn’t accept any commands as there was no prompt
