I hope Floridians will do everything that they can to protect them, encourage their nesting and try to induce more wild birds to return. We have selfishly driven out or killed off so many species as well as introduced non native species that are out competing our native species. We have got to do better!
Wow! I'd heard flamingos had been spotted in FL since the hurricane but didn't realize there are so many! Nice to know that they are back where they belong 🩷
So, I thought these flamingo's were dxmn near native to Florida but I literally have no idea if that is true , and I don't know much about Florida.. so weren't these things always in and around Florida? Also, if and when did they start disappearing, because that should have been like a wildlife emergency! They belong in Florida , RIGHT? we should be doing everything we can to keep them and why haven't we made tremendous effort to keep them !? Anyway, if they were disappearing I am very glad to hear they are returning, because I may not be able to see them but I do believe the Floridian's would absolutely love and enjoy seeing them again and I hope you guys all do ! Lovely birds! Hey, does anybody know where wild shoebill storks are and like to live?? Are there any in the U.S, maybe wild? I'd love to see one of them but only bc I think they are terrifying!
Asking these questions and a comment on TH-cam what make one believe that you can't go research it yourself .. This is so weird in this day and age with information at your fingertips for you to be so lazy and not go educate yourself

Being honest, I thought flamingoes were just something we used as mascots because they're very distinctive and Florida tries to advertise it's "tropical" motif. I'd always associated flamingoes with Africa and had never heard about them being mentioned with Florida wildlife, so I didn't know they actually were native to Florida.

I've seen two flying in Palm Beach this year. Pink rockets.
they are also in Gulf Coast Venice Florida...saw 2 of them in March of this year. Hope they are a breeding pair!...
Yay, greetings from Merritt Island where we have 14 of these magnificent birds! ❤
