    Hey Jason. Been following your channel for sometime now. Let me just say that you do some really good work! These new additions were long overdue and what better time to treat yourself to them than just before the holidays!! The power supply is really sweet and I must say that my heart sank as well when it failed to turn on the first time!! I would keep the hakko where it is as would be easier to extend your hand and grab the iron while you're looking into the microscope rather than towards the side. As I said you already have been doing great work and I hope these additions make your life easier. Hope you have a great trip and a Happy New Year!!

    Merry Christmas to you, Can't wait to hear your opinion on the hot tweezers lol I'm not even up to amateur stage in my learning but i can see the benefit of them "if only i could hold this cap and solder it at the same time hmmm" The quick station is really good i haven't f**d anything up so far with it and the pre sets are handy also in the UK it comes with bent nozzles so gets in nice and close under the scope

    Really like the look of your new PSU.
    Dual (or triple in your case) is so convenient. Use it a lot here. One frequent pairing I use is to have the phone powered (4V2 of course) and then an external backlight on things like the 6S screens ( 16V @ 2mA usually ). Makes life easier :)

    Hope your having a great vacation and thanks for all the quality content :)

    Whats the suction pen on your hot air station like??? Are they useful?

    • @ststele
      @ststele  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never found a use for the suction pen. When I first got it, I thought it might be neat - then I wound up just unhooking the hose because sometimes it can get kinked and restrict airflow. Totally useless for me tho.

  • @mike7958

    The FM-203 & the FM-2023 are still available from Hakko despite what anyone says. And just an FYI, an FM-206 would have allowed you to get rid of the FX-951 altogether since its a 3 channel station. Not to mention, a power switch that's on the front! Don't know why the guys at Hakko decided to put the power switch on the back on the FM-202 & 203 models. Congrats on the new tool additions though. Really liking that Siglent.

  • @Dyaxxis
    @Dyaxxis 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The HakkoUSA website shows both FM-2022 and FM-2023 are still available in their "kit form" (tweezers and stand), but no longer sells "tweezers only". Any further information should be confirmed through an official statement Hakko/HakkoUSA.
    To each their own, however my experience is that some items work for me, some don't, which is why I "mixed and matched" test and rework gear from different manufacturers. With all of the reviews/assessments in regards to both test and rework equipment, I believe you've made the most ideal choice for what you're working with.

    Thought it was going to be a OScope until you said it was your most used tool, never see you use one in your videos so caught me off guard with the power supply. Its amazing how we will fix someone else's $50 item at times but wont fix our own $200+ tools... Hi!
    Try JBC CD-1BE and buy separate t210 tool. It is great station. I have 2 and very glad. I had FX951, FX100. JBC is far better and very convenient.
    And also for Hot Air buy Quick 861~300$ or Weller WTHA 650$ or Hakko FR810. Using Hakko last 2 years, it is good.

    Wow!! That's Cool.!! 😊😊👍I have a good friend of mine who looks just like you and your personality is just like my friend personality... and this is amazing to see someone just like somebody else. (Wow!!) I'm looking for a update on this video. Your equipment will be fine as long as you keep them plugged into a surge protector. But there's a little secret to your device and that is with two protection of surge protector the first one that is plugged into the wall and the other surge protection it's plugged into the first one. But the second protection is where you plug all your devices into..... there for if a lighting strikes it will not damage your device because it will strike the first plug protection. So the second one will protect all your equipment. Put you another shelf to the left on the wall then you can put all your q-tips and whatever on there. And one other thing I preciate most of your video that I have seen that is clean without a lot of bad language. Thanks.

    Wow nice stuff well jel :) and awesome video
    in Europe the 220v version of fm 203 and mini-tweezers costs
    FM203 Multi Station £495.00,
    FM2023 Micro tweezer conversion kit £235.00, (inc. T9-I tip set)
    so 730 UKP lol or 975.83 USD :P it almost makes worth to buy a transformer and buy 110v version from amazon :)

      It took me forever to feel like I could justify spending it. I saved a bit on the FM-203 by buying it without the stuff I already had but not much. It probably would have been cheaper to buy the whole kit and then sell the stuff that came with it that I already had.

    I bought the JBC nase station a week ago, upcoming video on that soon. The things I hate about it is shortness of cable as now have a much larger bench and the fact it cost around $80 bucks for extension cables. It does work well as done a few repairs with it and the . the tweezers make doing backlight filters and etc a few second job and no longer worried about melting connector. The micro pencil great. Yes repairs do take a few second longer on certain repairs on my Weller when compared to the JBC. The Weller WX series is way more versatile and do a lot more projects with it and built way better as far as solder iron handles. The JBC not worth the price tag
    All said I still prefer the Weller had the WX1 station for years with no issue and now upgraded the power unit to WX2 just recently. The micro pencil is far better due to built better and mostly due to use to it and grip better. Have my 120w iron for vintage electronics repairs. like the fact the setting are save on the iron, so just plugs into new station and remember my old setting without having to reprogram presets. Goes to standby mode automatically without needing special stand as sensor in iron and calibration is in iron as well. The Weller is way more refined as they paid attention to detail.
    Where JBC screw up at was making a station dedicated for microsoldering and charging to much for consumables and accessories. If JBC had designed it to use higher powered irons, then yes would be worth the price. The tweezers are the best I used. I give the JBC that.
