Simply amazing, complete no death run with Thief, I don't think I can be suprised by your godlike gaming skills anymore. I really like playing as Thief (her lockpicking and trapfinding, are an invaluable asset, especially if playing with friends), but damn, she's so hard to use in combat, I keep dying in every major battle!

Btw, I heard there's a glitch, when Thief and Magicuser exchange their headgear, their defense goes through the roof !!! I would like try if it actually works, one of these days.
@@ShiroiLuke true, that's the "Highlander" glitch. You need to exchange the Thief's hood by the Magicuser's hat and your defence goes up the roof, I've done it many times but tbh never saw that much of a difference

Discovered this game in the Internet Archive for a class on video games a few years ago and was amazed by it. And very quickly realized the almost direct inspiration for the Thief class in DFO (Dungeon Fighter Online) which is one of my favorite games I played in my childhood. DFO plays in a similar fashion too with side scroll action.

Very good run! Great Harpy fight tho. That fight sometimes gets a little chaotic. I usually use the same Oil technique that you used on Man Scorpion on Tel'Arin (1st encounter), didn't know it could be used on that fight too.
Only reason I liked thief was because she can bump into enemies to force drop rare items. But now I have like 10 more reasons, fantastic video, you got great skills. I used to play it with dwarf because he's the strongest physically, later I played with cleric because of insta undead kill, but I also enjoy playing as the swordsman and the elf. Now I am gonna try with thief again lol I didn't even know how to get the legendary sword from cursed one, one question, how does that lightning magic exploit works on bosses? or may be it wasn't exploit.
Yup. It's running on Capcom's CPS2 arcade system, which also ran Street Fighter 2 and several other sprite-based fighters until it was replaced by the CPS3 board.
Nice to see you playing this great game again, take me near 200 hours to 1cc this on normal with all characters (after that I can 1cc it each time, of course). I have a question, as far as I remember the Thief can do really long jumps (through the whole screen) somehow, but I am never know how to do this trick. Do you know something about it?

@@michaelpf08 my problem is - I cant jump from wall to such a long distance. If you watch a video. than you see, that Thief gets some unusual acceleration in air and jump through the whole screen. When you do wall jump normally - Thief goes only near 1/2 of the screen.
@@DaimondRus It's a hand feeling, so hard to explain, let me put in thsi way, street fighter alpha 2, use Ryu's air tornado kick turns back, same kind of hand feeling :)
Thief was always the best character if you knew how to play her. You could input moves from other fighting games and she was the only one who would react when you did so.
This looks awesome however I find quite distracting when the screen blinks when she does some of her attacks, would that happen when there are other player character on the screen?
I read somewhere that the warrior can dual wield if he takes a shortsword along his main weapon. Do you know if this true? And if so have you tried a playthrough like that?
Yo, what's the deal with the cursed sword? Why do you take all that damage just to heal yourself? It looks pointless. What's the trick here? Or are you just flexing?
I wish people actually played either of the collections this Is on. And trying to get people to play is like pulling teeth and this game is sooooo goddamn good. Streets of what ? Double huh? I'm sorry I can't hear you over the multiple path hidden rooms puzzles and attention to details.
Hi buddy, before you about to fight the beholder, 17:23, look at the note on the wood pad firtst, then stop moving up and down, the system will give you a very perfect lane for attacking the beholder. then run to him suddenly use a magic, the beholder will jump, then always use a 4 hits combos, he'll jump again, until kill him:)
@@punisher467 you can't use any magics when his eyes are open, just making sure use magic when he's using magic, because that frame his eyes are closed :)
This is the most intricate beat 'em up I've ever seen, was it only for arcade or did it come out on a console? The depth of gameplay is impressive, I think they made it a bit too easy to stunlock the bosses though. 😅

Thieves (later rogues) traditionally have been to use longsword (proficiency in the weapons) along with dagger and shortsword, sling, shortbow, and hand crossbow. At least according to D&D rule sets.
Hi buddy, you gotta stand in the middle part of the War Machine, so by the same time the group of goblins shows up, you can beat them all if you stand in the middle part, the war machine was drive by those group of Goblins, as you can see, if you beat those group of goblins down, then the war machine lost driver, that's why can't even moving if you got the trick to deal with it :)
Very cool game, but also, it's kinda lame that you can stunlock most enemies and bosses to death, even something as tall and massive as that Dark Warrior

he moves more than he attacks in some fights & he never attacks when the enemy is in good position to do so; you can't stand your ground with theif =/
Which is why the Wizard/Thief combo is pretty effective, from my experience at least

To anyone curious where the thief character’s design originally came from, look up the cover to a TSR novel called “Red Sands”.
Sands, as in dunes? What good is wearing a bare midriff cloak and cowl though? You're definitely getting sand in your eyes with that!

I was always a fan of the thief's second outfit/character. Reminded me of Hayate from Star Gladiator.

You should have a electricity rod
Use light rod + black mantle. 3x hit then use light bolt for critical hit.
