I love Sail North, this song is so them. It has a mix of sea shanty in it which you can hear.

@@SkeletalIndustial The album is based on the Screwtape letters and all Three, Soldier, poet and specially King directly reference Jesus " Whose brow is laid in thorn (Crown of Thorns) Smeared with oil (Christ means anointed and being anointed requires being blessed with oil) like David's boy (Jesus is a descendant of King David)"

@@lettuceman9439 While screwtape letters was a huge influence in this album, it is actually based the parable of the prodigal son. Their first album Through the deep, dark valley was a mix of that parable and the siblings own prodigal journeys. This album picks up really at the end of that first album, just this time the prodigal son returned home and has now become older, and this is his letters to other prodigal sons making their journey. Each song is its own letter and this is the parallel to Screwtape letter, and of course the main song of the album dear wormwood, which is actually the readers response to the letters that the redeemed prodigal son sent. This is a beautify retelling of Christs love for us and beautifully reinterprets the prodigal son into the modern era and tells a compelling version that was just as impactful the first time it was told by Christ all those years ago.
Exactly what a cover should be. Taking the original and doing something unique with it. This evokes such a different set of emotions. Taking something calm and laid back and turning it into what is essentially a battle cry. Well done!

I’ve used this song in one of my DND sessions. Hell it’s in my DND song playlist which I turn on each session and we vibe while we play and sometimes we work the songs into parties and celebrations in our session and dance and act it out. We have so much fun.
