Great project and well done. Did the same thing when I was 30 building a 43 ft steel cutter with a lifting centerboard keel. We did 2 trips around the Pacific Is. and Australian east coast then home to NZ. You feel safer sailing around the coral reefs with steel around you.
Congratulations on your vision and determination ! And your 'smarts' ! The 'steel' constructions lends itself to 'hard-chine' hull design, and this is a beautiful hull/ yacht.
Nice, as a fabricator and coded welder with UK shipyard experience and owner of a hard chined corten steel Van De Stadt 34' I really appreciate, understand and respect the amount of work that went into this beautiful boat

This must have been before y'all got married. Props for marrying the best-looking girl in town! I've just started watching your videos and the two of you have an incredible work ethic. Where do y'all live? I noticed when y'all built your house that some of the things you did were different than we do here in the USA, particularly the framing. We really have to build out our window frame with king studs, jack studs, and headers. I'm not saying one way is better, just different. Your house is awesome by the way so is this boat.
AWESOME BUT I ADVISE YOU TO BUILD A FLAT HULL BOAT FOR SURVIVAL BECAUSE IN SURVIVAL SITUATIONS YOU HAVE TO STAY NEAR THE LAND SO IT CAN SURF NEAR SHORES AND SHALLOW DEPTHS

Amazing! I'm impressed that the waterline is accurately painted before launch. Is that fibreglass being attached to the bottom, on top of steel? (at 6:36). I like the wheel!

I am guessing the fibre glass gives it abrasion resistance. Did I see some going around where the chain rubs
Don't get the fiberglass on steel hull ????
