i've been playing and singing to this for the last 24 hours, im not even joking or exaggerating. i probably should be concerned lmao. but this cover is such a masterpiece and well-made, no joke. they did a great job of reminding us asian of the karaoke vcd we all had back then.
Jokes aside, I don't think many people value the amount of details in this MV to reproduce the late 70's/80's vibe, my parents used to owned a lot of classic dvds of some notable chinese singers such as Anita Mui, Theresa Tang, Sam hui etc. And I used to watch most of them as I grew, even Indonesian, local Malaysian singers, basically most Asian classics during those era have the same kind of MV. The color and lighting adjustment, aspect ratio is 4:3 black bars instead of 16:9, the fonts style, the singers introduction 0:15, the random floating logo of the production company 0:56 that keeps disappear and reappear from time to time, random presence of a pretty woman with countless screen time to complete the ritual of such love song, and some scene where the singer(s) can be seen in the background (like at 1:39 and 1:57) but still the pretty woman will always be the main subject because duhh we should adore her beauty, the stretch transitions like 1:02 and 1:17 and some other old editing style transitions (1:31) , the dreamy black background scene, place settings either a park or at the seaside lol, basically this whole piece is almost perfect for me, the outfits were fine, nice plain silk button shirts and bootcut trousers, one thing tho I just think that Adeline should use darker red-ish lipstick hahaha, also missing the unnecessary strong air blowing into their face, other than that this was pretty well made, solid 9/10, I ain't no professional videographer or something lol, but I just love it when productions put into the work in making music videos especially classic old time themes. I've been putting this song on loop for half a month now.
literally, my only clue that this song was not a 1980s classic was when I browsed Dissy's other videos today and came across the actor/singers and was like, hold on, aren't they the super idol guys/girl? how old must they be now- why tf do they look so young

Jokes aside, I don't think many people value the amount of details in this MV to reproduce the late 70's/80's vibe, my parents used to owned a lot of classic dvds of some notable chinese singers such as Anita Mui, Theresa Tang, Sam hui etc. And I used to watch most of them as I grew, even Indonesian, local Malaysian singers, basically most Asian classics during those era have the same kind of MV. The color and lighting adjustment, aspect ratio is 4:3 black bars instead of 16:9, the fonts style, the singers introduction 0:15, the random floating logo of the production company 0:56 that keeps disappear and reappear from time to time, random presence of a pretty woman with countless screen time to complete the ritual of such love song, and some scene where the singer(s) can be seen in the background (like at 1:39 and 1:57) but still the pretty woman will always be the main subject because duhh we should adore her beauty, the stretch transitions like 1:02 and 1:17 and some other old editing style transitions (1:31) , the dreamy black background scene, place settings either a park or at the seaside lol, basically this whole piece is almost perfect for me, the outfits were fine, nice plain silk button shirts and bootcut trousers, one thing tho I just think that Adeline should use darker red-ish lipstick hahaha, also missing the unnecessary strong air blowing into their face, other than that this was pretty well made, solid 9/10, I ain't no professional videographer or something lol, but I just love it when productions put into the work in making music videos especially classic old time themes.
