    Great advice. I launched my first product with $350.00! No kidding. Is that the slow way to do it? Yup. BUT, if you only have a little to invest just have faith and keep your profits separate and - slowly - grow it to an increase in inventory! THEN, you can start looking for a second product to do the same thing. Think small sized items-less storage fees and/or easy to store at home if you need quick inventory replenishment, as Amazon restricts our inventory allowances. Do your own inventory stickers too as that helps keep up front costs down until you can get your volume up to justify the hired labor for such things that Amazon offers. Don't worry about custom packaging at this point. Again, wait until your volume is increased to the point where you can justify the expense. You'll get there slowly but surely. Be organized, be disciplined and have the steps clear in your mind with the goals of compounding your profits until you really get going. You can do this!

    I actually launched my first product for 700 dollars now I have 2 more products it took way longer to scale that way about 4 months longer but the more you do it the easier it is my second launch I had 2200 to put into it.

      Matt King completely agree. It takes longer and more time to scale. That’s why my first year was slower and then since it’s got 10 times faster as now I have more capital!

    Many don't understand the importance of cash flow and trying to start with minimal capital investment. You should always have at least 2.5x the amount of starting capital for each product. If inventory cost you $1k , then you should have $2500..What if your product sells well, then how are you gonna order more product and pay your suppliers with only $1k. Don't expect Amazon to pay you right away and not to mention other things you need like software tools, pictures, packaging, shipping, inspection, marketing, etc..People need to think like real business owners.

    • @TrevinPeterson
      @TrevinPeterson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      agree with this! We are building a business. Not many businesses you can start with less than a couple thousand dollars!

    • @1life1love729
      @1life1love729 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TrevinPeterson Cmon people lets be real here, Amazon isn't like it was in 2017. In 2020 you probably need around $5k + to really make any decent profit and scale your business fast. Anything less and if your first couple of products don't do well, you are gonna run into cash flow problems. 90% of Amazon sellers fail because of cash flow and thus the reason they don't scale their business as fast as others do. Then again most new Amazon FBA sellers don't even know what it means to really run a business. Either build up your capital or just be a Amazon FBA dreamer.

    I'm trying to start this business from India. The only thing which bothers me is how much strong the US dollar is compared to Indian rupee.
    I mean, basically $1000 for you is $4000 for me in India.
    So the cost of me getting on Amazon went up to about 75% more expensive. But if would be able to successfully get this done on $1000 I would be really freaking happy.
    $500 for me is worth $2000, because USD is soo strong. Thanks for the boost in confidence man.

    Thank you so much! This video really encourages me so much. I have one question. If I remember correctly from your other videos that I am not allowed to sell products on Amazon if I do not put any logo on. If I have to put a logo on the products for Felt Ball, do I have to make a package for that and print the logo on the package? Then, it will cost more money than $1,000. I am a little confused that if I can really make it work with the process that you said or this video is more fore a reference so I should study each step's detail more about Trademark, Patent, Logo, and Package. Please let me know. Thank you!

    Question: Does Amazon charge you that 30% as soon as the product lands ay the warehouse? The video it seems to imply that it does. Or is t more like Amazon charges you the storage fee then the FBA fee once the product sells. Would that be more accurate? The second One the product sells Amazon immediately deducts from your credit card or deducts from sale with a settle bilking date? I would appreciate the clarification. Thanks and keep up the great work!

      There’s alot of other costs you need to consider especially when inporting from other countries. Import costs, shipping costs, product costs, Amazon fees just to name a few. So you will have to get all of the costs worked out on a product before you even think about launching it to make sure you can make a good profit. FBA is not as easy as people think.

  • @Daniel_Borisov
    @Daniel_Borisov 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video Trevin. I realise there's no exact science about what I'm about to ask and it varies per product but from your experience, if you launch a product that does for example $1000 in sales per month, say 50 units and each one sells for $20, what is good practice for price per item manufactured, shipped to Amazon and customs etc. Charges included - final cost for you per item? And what does a good PPC outcome look like - active advertisement for 1 month where you are investing all your profit on PPC, or more or less? For example expected monthly revenue when finally ranked $1000, sales price in Amazon $20, profit margin 30%, total unit cost for you $13, first month PPC budget = expected profit when fully ranked = $300. You of course opyimise PPC regularly but is 1 month a good guess for such duration?

    • @TrevinPeterson
      @TrevinPeterson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Borisov 100% depends on product supplier quality and how you ship whether it’s sea or air. So many things to factor in. But at the end of the day the most important thing is to be profitable. So if your margins are 30% plus after fees then that’s pretty good!

    • @Daniel_Borisov
      @Daniel_Borisov 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Just on the other question about estimated PPC costs. It will vary from product to product but if a product is edtimated to sell $1000 per month when organically ranked, what would you ecpect PPC to cost in the first month? This can't be answered with accuracy but what would be too much in your oppinion and what would be ball park expected?
