Literally constantly getting into fights with the commenters that don’t believe the benefits of using a Cpl for portraiture. Planning my own CPL video for the industries I shoot. Great Video!
Thanks for this! I think the usage of it for portraits is REALLY underrated. One thing that a lot of people use is small flashes for fill light in portraits. But smaller pop of light often looks a bit harsh and I think using a CPL can really help take some of that off. I'm starting to think it's a "must have" for everything. Sure you lose 1-1.5 stops of light but so many cameras now have in-body stabilization that I think more than makes up for the loss when using a CPL.
Yes, since I leave in Hawaii I mostly shoot in a bright sunny days so I don’t really care about loss of light, but CPL and Mist filters both 99% of the time on my lens. And people don’t know that Cpl also helps with greens and skin tones, which is really helpful
Great video! I am thinking to buy a CPL + ND filter in 1 (to avoid carrying multiple filters) .Do you think that would compromise the quality of each filter?
CPL + ND is okay I think, but I still cant find any VND filter that would not change the colors and make "X" shadow shape. I prefer use CPL and I got 3-STOP and 6-STOP ND filters for my video work
What’s Up Nikita, Im Not Educated At All On Filters… However, All My Video Content I Record Outdoords… I’m Looking For A Good VIR- ND Filter And A Polarized Lens Filter … I’m Working With A Sony A6600 My Lenses Are: Sony E16=55mm 2.8 And Sony E15mm F1.4.. Thank You…
Your 15-55 lens is 67mm filter tread, and 15mm is 55mm So I would recommend something like this amzn.to/3Yqfpyn , this filter is CPL + VND at the same time and it is 67mm diameter. This filter might be expensive, you can search for something similar but less expensive. And to use it on your 15mm lens you should get a step-up ring like this amzn.to/4d47ueQ (its $10 only)
It depends not on the camera, but on the lens you are planning to use. You have to check lens diameter (like 67 or 72 or 77 mm or others) and get the filter with the correct size to crew-on the filter on your lens. Brands I used and love them: Nisi, Tiffen, Lee Filters, B+W

Thank you! People for some reason don’t mention it in internet or TH-cam, so other people don’t believe 🥲
Oh wow , so informative! I really appreciate it , now I need to find a good CPL 🤙🏾
You’re welcome 🙏
