Build the perimeter wall higher. The fish jump out at this height and land in the sea. Should help the rates. Also the magma blocks being 2 blocks wide also help the rates as the large fish seem to get stuck less above the signs

Actually you don't really need to put the soul sand right below pressure plates. I tested and I think you can optimize this farm a lot just by placing soul sands way below in ocean. .

My base is located at a 5 river junction which creates this big water body that feels like an ocean but it is not an ocean biome.The closest ocean biome is kinda far away from my base so i do not want to build this farm there.

If you can try putting mending and unbreaking on it, you can’t enchant it directly on a table you’d have to use books but it’ll save lots of time and experience
