Very interesting video. I really enjoyed it. The lock groove on my copy of the Moody Blues album keeps playing endlessly.
Hello Bill. Had forgotten the James Gang locked.
I love your Spudlocked groove!
The perpetual intercourse album by Skinny Puppy. At the end of Burnt with water is a groove locked sample from the movie The Exorcist.
Lindsay Buckingham put an ingenious locked groove on the end of side one of “Go Insane”. The song Play In The Rain goes into a locked groove loop at the end of side one, then picks up at the beginning of side two. If you record the song to tape or digital, it’s possible to make an edit that seamlessly connects the two. It’s freaking brilliant.
RRRecords, purveyors of many noisy and experimental platters, have produced three infamous locked groove compilations by various artists over the years: RRR-100 (which is a 7"), RRR-500, and RRR-1000 (!), featuring one hundred, five hundred, and one thousand locked grooves, respectively.
Hi Bill! The new album by Sleepytime Gorilla Museum has locked grooves on all four sides, PLUS a hidden track after the first locked groove on side two.
White Flags “S is for Space” had locked grooves
and all sorts of weird stuff on it.
Very cool! Looks like all the copies available are too expensive.
Great video! I love a locked groove... Sgt Pepper's was the first I heard.
Two other albums spring to mind - Kevin Ayers - Whatevershebringswesing: end of side 2 has a lovely running water lock groove.
Julian Cope - Skellington: side 2
Cheers.
Gonna have to keep an eye out for those! I have 2 other Kevin Ayers LPs but not that one.
@@BillsBoxOfSound It's sublime throughout. Includes 'Stranger in Blue-suede Shoes' 😉
@@martinscase3904 Hmmmmmm! Thank you, very much! 😄
@@BillsBoxOfSound Lol!
I have the CD 'Chips From The Chocolate Fireball' which includes The Dukes Of Stratosphear's 25 O'Clock and Psonic Psunspot. I assumed the backwards message was the start of the latter, just before Vanishing Girl!
That's it! Love XTC.
Finally someone has brought this to light
I figured some one like you would bring this to all to investigate
👍👍
Non. Pagan Muzak. Is by Boyd rice . It’s 15 or 16 locked grooves on a 7” vinyl with 2 centre holes and it plays at any speed ! It also comes in a 12” cover even tough it’s 7” ! I have a lot of locked groove records because I like noise music ! But that one is my favourite!!!
ABBA must have heard that King Crimson USA pressing as they have a similar locked groove of applause at the end of The Way Old Friends Do.
@barbarakirk3064. I also have the ABBA album with that applause locked groove at the end of The Way Old Friends Do. It's on the Super Trouper album. I don't know if all vinyl pressings of the album have that locked groove though.
You Bought It - You Name It by Joe Walsh has a locked groove at the end of the song "Theme from Island Weirdos" on side two.
I'm compelled to ask when does the remastered and expanded edition of BIH!, otherwise known as the tour edition come out?
I do have that Joe Walsh LP! Maybe there will be a second installment of lock grooves. As for more Spudlok, all it takes is the money to do it. BIH! was not cheap, even though it sounds that way.
