    If I was in the market for a coupe this would definitely be on my short list. Looks like a great car.

    Not the sports car the newly redone M4 is, it's a better daily driver, and is a much better value similarly-equipped. The same features on an M4 cost you $10k more. Is better at being a luxury car every day, and a track star when you want. Balanced and sophisticated fun. The looks aren't great, but will work for a younger more aggressive driver, which Lexus covets. The upcoming LC500 will be a nice upgrade if you want more style.

      The LC was the concept. The nomenclature for production will be the new "SC."

      Thanks for being wrong, but Lexus just trademarked LC500 and LC600h.

    Those aren't triple-beam LED headlamps aren't they?

  • @DrSpideybug
    @DrSpideybug 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice review! I know the video is a couple years old and my comment may not even be read, but I wanted to point out a couple of things. First, the car you have in the video does not have the triple-beam headlight upgrade. Second, I am surprised that your test car had the TVD without the carbon fiber roof. When I got mine, I wanted to have that same setup so that I could have the moon roof, but I was told that the Performance Package could not be selected in an "à la carte" fashion, so I had to accept the carbon fiber roof if I wanted the TVD. Perhaps when the car first came out Lexus was a little more flexible with the options.
    Anyway, great job overall! I would like to hear what you think about the new LC500 compared to the RC F. I haven't had the chance to drive the LC yet, but overall I am not impressed by the figures on paper. I saw one at the dealership that was for display only, and while the exterior styling is good depending on the color of the car (e.g. I think it looks much better in red or white vs. silver), I don't think it is worth the price they are asking. It is heavier than the RC F, has a smaller trunk, and the interior styling is not as good, in my opinion, especially the door handles! It has more technology, but in the end the performance is the same as the RC F due to the increased weight, which is unfortunate. At the moment, I still prefer my RC F over the LC500.

      I've got a LC coming in November. As for the "wierd" spec of this RC, that often happens with press fleet cars. Thanks for the feedback!

    • @DrSpideybug
      @DrSpideybug 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, that makes sense! Thanks for the info! It would be nice if Lexus was a little more flexible with allowing customers to customize their cars. Anyway, I definitely look forward to your LC review! Take care! :)

    Given the price, near 2 ton weight and limited performance ability, I wonder how many people will take this over the BMW M4 or Mercedes C63 AMG coupe.
    Also, given the near 400kg savings and nearly the same level of power, the upcoming ATS-V will also steal sales here.

    Nice video. Very cool car but front end is looking...bulky. .to me. Anyways for reliability issues and sound I love that 5.0 V8 without turbos or super chargers and what not...but I just CANT WAIT FOR NEW GS F ! Hope you'll have it for a test drive ;)

    Lexus RCF is a gorgeous car but 2016 the new generation Infiniti G coupe will be available and the design is absolutely stunning, it'll make the RCF look boring. However, i must say the RCF is still way better looking than the M4.

  • @kempowarrior
    @kempowarrior 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    This Lexus RC-F does 0-60 4.3-4.4 seconds is much slower than the Lexus IS-F which does it in 4.1 seconds (google it for proof.) I actually prefer the Lexus IS-F over the RC-F. Because I can get a slightly use one for a good price, better looking and faster as well.
    The RC-F is to heavy. It definitely need to shed between 500-700 pounds to be able to play with or beat the new BMW M4, Cadillac ATS-V, MB C63 AMG/AMG S and Audi RS5.

    Save $30k+ and buy a '15 Mustang GT. Similar performance, similar looks for a whole lot less and you're buying American, a win-win situation.

      TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes Steve I've watched both this review and your review of the M4. I'm looking at this market and have pretty much decided which one I will purchase, but curious to hear your thoughts on comparing the two...thoughts? thanks

    • @TestDriveNowCom
      @TestDriveNowCom 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stephen Thomas Well, Lexus does a better job of giving you a more well-rounded car. If you're hardcore then I'd go M4. Either way it's a win.

    Why should I spend $74,000 on this car when that sum of money is more than enough to get a new C7 Corvette Stingray?

    • @TheCarCrazyGuy
      @TheCarCrazyGuy 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hands down the C7 is a way better car. Last year I purchase a 3LT Z51 convertible. I love it!

    • @officialvisaural
      @officialvisaural 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      tmat04 It's a case of refined GT that can go fast vs. all-out sports car. Choose your poison.

    • @tmat04
      @tmat04 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Visaural
      True! But most people who are thinking "performance" will likely purchase the C7 Stingray over this Lexus, especially considering the Corvette has been receiving kudos for its performance and driving dynamics. Personally, I still think Lexus priced this car a bit too high. $65,000 would have been a more than fair price for this car, in my opinion. I would NEVER pass over the C7 Stingray (which offers better performance and exotic looks) and purchase this Lexus for $74, 000.

    • @officialvisaural
      @officialvisaural 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      tmat04 Point taken. I would personally take the C7 if the roads weren't as traffic-filled as those in my country, though.
      I mean -- the C7 has managed to beat a McLaren 650s AND Lambo Huracan around a track!

    • @tmat04

      Visaural
      Don't get me wrong, though. This Lexus is a beautiful coupe. And it performs very well. And I especially love the blue paint job. But, I just think Lexus needed to priced this car a bit lower, considering there are other performance bargains out there (such as the C7 Stingray) that most people might consider a better value for their dollar.
      I also think Lexus needs an exotic looking supercar that is within the price range of the Nissan GTR and Corvette Z06. Acura will soon release the new NSX, that will be around the same price range. But Lexus can't have an exotic that is priced close to $400,000 (LFA), and then straight down to the RC F as the 2nd best example it is offering. To, me, the company needs a supercar that will fit right between the two.

    A Mustang GT would spank it and still have money left in the bank to brag about. If that's not enough you can always slap on a Whipple or ProCharge and really embarrass this overpriced Japanese import.
