CRASHED SECONDS BEFORE LANDING! Yeti Airlines Flight 691

- CORRECTION: The Video describes Anju Khatiwada as a First Officer awaiting promotion to a Captain. There was significant conflict in reporting in the news and it was very hard to discern whether Anju was a Captain or FO. I had finally based that part of the story from this article - www.indiatoday.in/world/story..., which I have now understood is incorrect. Thanks to @Mike-Bell for his inputs in correcting this. Anju was a Captain and the flight was only her Familiarization flight for the new airport.

yeah, the information on the news channels were very conflicting. @@shivammishra1380

@@user-eu1il4ns4o The passenger crash footage is here on TH-cam. I know, because I watched it and in this way learned of this accident. There are several versions available on several channels: some longer, some shorter, some with faces blurred for some reason. If you check these videos all out you will grasp the sudden horror of the crash for the passengers, who were seemingly unaware of the developing emergency situation until the last moment -- which I think was for the best, for in this way they were spared from enduring prolonged angst and horror.
It’s crazy that someone with a flight simulator can make a better documentary than a multi-billion dollar company with professional producers and actors.
Haha. You are very kind. Thank you very much ☺️
@samidiesyt4798 if he had that budget he'd be a huge draw
Thank you so much. I am not sure any sane producer would invest that money in me :D @@D_Alleyne2005
well to make the simulator you will aslo need a multi billion dollar team
Multi million
My brother and his bestfriend was planning to come to pokhara with that same flight. But later on my mom told them to take a taxi instead of flight. Because she always used to say that
The Domestic airlines of Nepal is too risky. Later on when we heard that news we all Got Shattered. God saved my brother that day.
I'd say your mother saved your brother. Thank goodness he followed her advice
Yeah💓

4:21 is insane editing. The fact you took the time to change the aircraft livery in-line with the different airlines you were mentioning is just crazy work-rate!
Thanks for noticing that. That specific shot took me quite a while to shoot :). I am glad you noticed :D
Hopefully that crazy work rate doesn’t cause his next video to crash.
Sorry for the bad joke
What is more tragic about this accident is that the first officer’s husband was also killed in a Yeti Airlines crash several years back and he was a pilot
Exactly!
So both are brainless 😂

finally yeti airlines flight 691! you earned a sub my guy!keep up the work!
Thank you so much bro! :) Happy New Year! :)
Good job guys! You earned a sub. When I saw your AI 101 video, I was hoping you'd cover Yeti 691 as well and you didn't disappoint. One nitpick -- the graphic depicting a turboprop shows two pistons. A turboprop is basically a jet engine with propellors so it doesn't have any pistons.
Thanks a lot mate. Thanks for the subscription. Yeah, 100%, the graphic was more an ELI5 version. I agree, a turboprop doesn't have pistons! :)
i lost my very best friend .
Thank you so much sir @@_WyngX
Your videos are both educational and extremely intriguing. Fantastic work.
Thank you very much! Happy New year, mate! :)
I have been a line check airman like Captain Kamal for over 20 years. The LCA position is one of the toughest jobs in the airline industry. Sadly, he made a mistake that resulted in the loss of his passengers, crew and aircraft. Your analysis and the contributing animation of the event was impressive. Thank you for your work.
Thanks for sharing your perspective, James! :)
Well explained
Excellent job , hats off to guys .
I hope this video clears misconception about the tragic accident to most of public’s .
Thank you so much! :)
This video just popped up in fyp, can't believe how much work you put in to make it, considering it's not that short too. The quality, the voice over, the animation, everything was perfect and on point, heck even the watermark was so smooth xD. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much. I appreciate your encouragement! :)
I subscribed you when you were at 5k bro , your content is legit amazing, love you ❤️
Legend! Welcome back Sandhya. Thanks for coming back. Happy new year. Love you too ❤️
I have been a passenger on this route with Yeti (possibly in the very same aircraft that was doomed) ... it was one of the most scenic flights ever for me. Sad to see what happened.
Another one thankx for doing early buddy. Love u!!

Wow , hats off to the team , loving the stuff you guys churn out . The switch of the aircraft from kingfisher to thai and back to yeti is too good 👍🏻
Thanks a lot Akshay. :) Glad you liked the livery swtich scene. It took a while to film that! :)
It's about to be 1 year now and this incident still gives me goosebumps.....
Also great editing, so clear and professional! The only thing I'll mention is that it felt a little out of place to hear 'if you like this video' at 14:14 after a video showcasing a tragedy.
That’s good input. Thanks for mentioning that. Is there an alternative wording that you can suggest I could have used that wouldn’t have been jarring ?
@@_WyngX hmm good question. One option might be "If you found this video worthwhile,"
Or u could say if u appreciate this video
That's a good suggestion. I'll start using that next time @@sukhithapa544
Thanks For the suggestion as well :)@@therascals8237
Many thanks for this Clear Demonstration. Had read about it but now you made it very clear with regard to the Feather Lever.. Wow... Shows that even such an experienced Pilot can make such rudimentary mistakes. Also extremely sad that this lady officer who lost her husband and was just one Check Ride away from becoming a Commander. R.I.P
Thank you so much! :)
this video is insanely good, you have more than earned my sub, its insane to me how the captain was even certified to be a senior pilot, and if the approach wasn't certified why would you even consider familiarizing yourself with it, so much of this incident infuriates me, thank you for this video
Thank you so much. I am glad you enjoyed it! :)
@_WyngX how someone can enjoy while watching the explanation of how 72 people died! Your work here is commendable, but sorry to say, it's not enjoyable!
@@babaisamanta7655 Then why are you here ??
Do you often do/ watch things that you don't enjoy .??
People watch murder/ true crime channels .it's the same kind of thing.
ALSO IF YOU'VE WATCHED HIS OTHER VIDEOS THEY OFTEN FEATURE INCIDENTS THAT HAVE NO Injuries OR deaths . Just near misses or piolet error that were closed calls.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU CLICKED ON THIS CHANNEL IF THIS ISN,T THE KIND OF CONTENT YOU ENJOY .
KIND OF A POINTLESS WASTE OF YOUR TIME !!
really appreciate your content and hard work sir . editing and graphics are just insane . And your way of explaining things is professional too .
Thanks a ton. Appreciate it Nikhil! :)
This is already one of my favorite aviation channels, you should collab with green dot aviation and disaster breakdown one day
Thank you so much! :) I'd love to collab with them! :)
A excellent watch. Subscribed. Not just a story for the sake of drama.. But very educational (geographical, aeronautical social) and respectful at the same time. Not an easy task. Thanks!
Thank you. I appreciate you saying that! :)
Excellent explanation and editing, i understood everything - saying this As someone that knows nothing about aviation and is not a STEM student. Thanks so much for your work. I'm not from nepal, but This accident was unfortunate. RIP both pilots, the crew and the passangers. I can't imagine the dread, terrifying fear they all must have felt in their last moments :(
Appreciate it! Thanks for the encouragement! :)
I’ve been watching aircraft crashes and disasters since Discovery Channel first popularized these in late 90s and early 2000s. Since then, there have been countless documentaries, youtube channels but my god, this one is a step function above them all. Hats off to you!
Thank you so much for the encouragement! :)
I used to watch documentaries on the aircrafts accidents . After coming across a random video on AI accident at kkd, in one go i watched all your other videos. Godos...... Rather than explaining or documenting what happened, you are explaining the technical aspects related to the flight which is appreciable......thank you so much for the detailed information..
Thank you so much Aprana! :) Appreciate it! Thanks for the encouragement! :)
even though I have watched many videos/documentaries related to this fatal crash! your video is giving a different vibe as I am jumping on this case for the first time. What a master piece Man
Thank you so much Pradit! :)
Wonderfully portrayed. Exceptional job. Such a tragic incident in the history of Aviation Industry in Nepal.

Really good video! So well made and you explained everything with clarity in just 14 minutes which is impressive. Could you do a video about Alliance Air Flight 7412 which crashed in Patna, India? I think nobody has covered it in a manner you have with so much detail. Thank you!

Hi Wyngx Creator Team,
At First I would like to thank your team for the amazing presentation of Flight 691 of Yeti Airlines, I am Nepalese and and an aviation enthusiast too, Looking in the past for more than 2 decades, Nepal has experienced more than 30 Fatal Accidents as you have mentioned in this video, And I agree too, But What I believe is sometimes There is factor of Destiny too and Unfortunate events happened , My deep condolences to all my Nepalese brothers and sister who have lost their Life in the Accident,
Once again, Thanks to the team of Wyngx for this video and we appreciate your work and keep doing like this, My support with you guys!!!!
Thanks Amit! :)
Omg the technical details of the video is insane as a student who is preparing for dgca exam and going to be a pilot it's extremely helpful and Knowledgeable information. Thank you for the amazing work 🙌
Glad you liked it! Welcome to being a pilot. It's amazing! :)
@@_WyngX thank you 🙌
you videos are very well made. thanks for going into such detail!
I appreciate that! Glad you liked them ☺️
This is a very good and well made video, unfortunately the moment I saw that plane I instantly recalled the video and knew what’s going to happen, very sad what happened to them. Thank you for covering it, I’ve watched lots of videos about this crash yet yours still brought things up differently and even tho the ending was clear as the accident was covered before your pacing and editing made it feel like it’s the first time I’m hearing about this!
I’ve got some points tho, during the intro the background music felt too loud, and same with some parts of the video that didn’t have the songs just to intensify/spice things up, still good pacing lowering it would’ve made a big difference (or cutting it earlier)
Thank you so much. I am glad you liked it. Thanks for the feedback on the audio levels.I sincerely appreciate it. Can you please elaborate on the "some parts of the video didn't have songs" part. Did you mean that it would have been better to add BG music to it?
Best most informative documentary of a plane crash being explained ive seen
Thank you so much! :)
Great video Wyngx, I love your content.
Thank you so much Aman! :)
Man uploaded only 4 videos and made me glued to screen already 😊
Aah. Thank you so much mate! :)
Your voice is very clear.... So far I have seen many videos but had to watch with subtitles. This time I didn't require any subtitles. Good job🤝
Oh thank you so very much! :)
Thank you for the clear incites of the incident. Mid-air workload with souls onboard was too much of a risk taken. The question is "WHOM TO BLAME "for the incident ???? was it the pilots or the airlines who took this risk??? May the departed souls on board rest in peace🙏🙏
loved that you took on my feedback on making the vid shorter keep up the great work!
Glad you liked it! :) And thanks for your feedback.,
explanation is so good. you explain the abbreviations and necessary technical information in easy way which other channels don't do and they assume that the viewer knows everything beforehand.

Yeti Airlines crash last year Magh 1 was found to be due to human error according to CAAN Investigation committee. In the final report published, the flap lever with red signal (right) was supposed to be pulled but the pilot pulled the condition lever with red signal (left). With this just being your 4th video the level of quality and content you have showcased is outstanding.
