Wow. I am from Hunza, Pakistan. We too have somewhat similar dish, we call it Axcho-vey Berkutz (walnut Pie). We use a batan to grind walnut, add chopped onion in walnut paste and bake it on Tawa instead of steaming it, spread homemade ghee/apricot oil or walnut oil on it. For dough, we just add salt in plain flour.we dont use malera or yest (we call it Emma though). Do try our version of the dish, you will love it. 😊

This siddu is as like as Bihari PITTHHA , and Bihari pitthha is made up from rice flour and filling is so many types , such as khuskhus , spicy pulce , tici and so many other things as we like .
