This video was so helpful. I had to sub to watch all the past content. It was hard enough making the video, but then didn't know how to upload it! Thank you for making it quick and easy. Excited to check out all your other tips.😁
You have a nice voice and a really good intro. It is very smooth and clean and also it doesn't have super loud music. I HATE WHEN TUTORIAL VIDEOS HAVE THESE SUPER OBNOXIOUS INTROS. Thank you so much!
Thank you. I used the TH-cam preset on my last video but the quality seemed low quality to what I saw editing. I was just thinking about the export when I chanced upon this video; I was looking at a Shotcut tutorial video earlier and kudos to TH-cam's algorithm for suggesting this video and I'm glad it did. I will try customising the H.264 preset next time. So, nice job.
You have NO IDEA how much of my hair you saved with this video...🤣 I have been searching for a video to help me with this for 2 DAYS!! You have a new subscriber for life and I will be watching every video you have... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU❤❤❤❤
Thank you soooo much! You made my day! I couldn't export my project so I decided to watch your video. I have just started my TH-cam channel and I had no clue how to export my project. You really helped me. Thank you ones again:)
omg okay i just wanna rage for a second here-- i only realized in this video that you have to wait for the it to export like woooow i spent a good 30 minutes wondering why it was saying "fIlE cOuLD nOT bE fOuND" i'm so dumb, thank you for mentioning that you have to wait-
Facts this vid came in clutch so many times even got it in a watch later profile I might have to download it but thanks again man hope 2021 treats u gud fam.
Of course, if you go to the presets tab when exporting, I believe that I used the h.264 preset. If thats not working for you go to presets and choose the TH-cam presets shotcut offers and try exporting with that instead. For the format make sure to leave it at default or mp4 until the file is read to be played. Let me know if it worked!
VBR stands for variable bitrate, which it encodes as it adjusts the data rate down and to the upper limit you set, based on the data required by the compressor. This means that during a VBR encoding process the bitrate of the media file will increase or decrease depending on the media files bitrate needs. VBR takes longer to encode but produces the more "detailed" results. VBR is just an option as there are different settings other people use that may have a preference to the results that they get with their videos. If something is working for you just stick to it. I just found this setting to work for me, so I just wanted to share it to other people. Thanks for the question!
I uploaded my first video yesterday to TH-cam using the TH-cam default setting in Shotcut. I was not impressed with the results after I had uploaded and watching it on TH-cam as some of the quality was lost. I heard it was a common thing on Shotcut forums and there are discussions as to how to improve this. I have just tried your suggestion to use H.264 and to raise the quality to 85%. The file is another 50mb larger which I don't mind and took a little longer. The problem seems to be when it's uploaded to TH-cam I will see how this one goes when I've uploaded it. I see some great crystal clear videos on TH-cam and trying to get the same.
Yea for sure, and when In doubt you could always use the "TH-cam" preset that Shotcut offers and raise the image quality. As any video is going to be compressed on TH-cam when you upload it.
It should do just that! However, if in the future you want to edit and export just audio, give this video a try! 👇 th-cam.com/video/TryMjRx-VMo/w-d-xo.html
Q. Lets say I download a youtube video however I converted it to Wav. audio file using a converter program. I have the clip I was the audio to be with. Like you I use High Profile with quality 85. But under Audio tab would the Aac codex ruin my Wav file? Because when I reupload it to TH-cam it sounds off from the original source
Is there a way not to re convert the video in Shotcut video editor but leave the original parameters. As i just deleted some parts of the video and do not want it to loose quality or take long time to compute new file/
So how can i get 5k resolution on export since my camera recorded in 5K but after export in resolution 5312x2988 and uploading to TH-cam i still get 4k.Thanks in advance
Hello EJ, IMO I would like for you to identify & explain some of the names and acronyms that you skipped over. Examples: (1) Why H.264 High Profile instead of just H.264? (2) I know FPS means Frames Per Second, but not all of your viewers will know that. (3) Why is the FPS adjustable? Why isn't it a function of how the original video was created? (4) Why choose 29.970030? Why not 30? (5) Why are there all those CODEC choices? What difference do they make? (6) I know VBR means Variable Bit Rate, but why choose "Quality-based VBR"? Why not Constant, or Constrained? Do you know where I can go for in-depth explanations of all these items? B/R, Steve
Thank you so much! Its really late though and it says it's going to take more than an hour to finish so if we turn off our computer will it still process when its shut down or do we have to keep it on?
Hi so i saw u had the same thing that happens to me at the start, it says 0% and has no time estimate on it, can I ask how long it took for you to actually finish?
@@EJTech. thank you but perhaps if i cant find it what do you recommend i do so like ideally what should the aspect be cos mines is set to 16:9 and still i cant get rid of those boarders
You can select one your clips and and go to properties and it will tell you the resolution of the video and aspect ratio. Then you can change the export settings to match those of the clips. If that doesn't work you can always zoom in all your clips by the same amount, but that wouldn't be ideal.
You can choose either depending on what rate you want it to operate at. For this example I was using the fps the orignal clip was at. So you can change it to 60 if you want to and just explore different settings that work best with your video quality hope that helped!
Hmm, did you upload the video yet or are you just viewing it? I would try the "TH-cam" preset and export it like that. But let me know what happens next.
I have a problem after I export the video in some places it does show bad quality almost like a blur, not clean, when I did edit the video I did not notice that. Could it be I need to change settings in the export, I did have similar settings as shown in this video but the difference was I did choose 60 frames, gop 300 frames,b frames 3, quality 90 % but this should be just a +? and parallel processing was off. I also wanna mention the mode setting is 1080-60 and that the original video was recorded in 720 and I just did watch the exported video actually it does not look bad compare where the problem is when I upload and watch in yt?
When i export the file it has a black screen at the start or end idk but it's like 1 frame. And the video is 2 seconds and i want it to be without it. Any suggestions ?

You might have to change the aspect ratio when exporting it, so that it eliminates the boarders. There should be a setting for that when exporting it.

Exporting it or rendering it just saves the video file to the location you chose to save it to. You have to upload the video to TH-cam yourself.
@@EJTech. Yeah I just figured it out via another video that mentioned how to do it.
