My favorite crazy artsy person have gone even crazier this time... And I'm all for it! Saw the thumbnail and I was like "oh no! She broke her leg. Poor Raquel"... Then a second later I read the tittle 🤣 Missed you around this "youtube land"
Hahahaha “this crazy art project made me break my leg!!!” Now that’s a clickbait title 🤣 Always happy to be back in TH-cam land sharing my wacky projects with y’all 🤗 Thanks for watching!
Hahaha. That is awesome! The only thing that could make it better would be a touch sensor on the toes to turn it on and off. Next project for body casting, Raqrez Hand phone stand!
I thought about that too! Since the leg didn't end up hollow it really made it challenging to make it an actual functioning lamp but we got there! haha Love the hand idea - I was also thinking of making some furniture that has "real" hands and feet...
Haha! I love it! Great tribute to the iconic leg lamp and bonus points for using your own leg for the mold. Leg Lamp is good all year round - no worries that it's the new year.
You will always have to wonder, are they complimenting your leg from 2022 or the light it brings to dark spaces. Glad you didn't let an imaginary deadline destroy your holiday time, no one deserves that - I think body molding will be interesting, it's a very different way to get to the same place as subtractive styles of art, and I think you'll have plenty of ideas spawn from this video. Thanks for sharing your work, as always!
Thank you Chris! I’m happy to hear that this video has created a little brightness ☀️ And you’re absolutely right…this video has sparked many ideas for me 🤔
The lamp looks fantastic, I was wondering when you were gracing us with your presence again ( You were missed Raquel) love your videos! Regarding the shoe, most shoes have what is called a shank in the arch/heel area which adds support and reduces flex of the shoe in that area, it would appear this shoe had a steel shank, sometimes they are made of wood or plastic. I have to add, you have really gorgeous legs Raquel.
Thank you so much!!! I’m so hopeful to have more time to create more content this year - changed up my work and living situation recently so that should help. And yes I’m familiar with shanks in boots but I was surprised to encounter such a powerful one in a cheap high heel 😆
This is such a cool and unique project, I loved seeing the process and problem solving. Looked like a pretty tricky build, but woah it turned out soooooo cool in the end, ugh what a fantastic video! The fact that you couldn't drill through those heels kinda blew my mind haha
Ahhh it's so realistic it's freaking me out in the best way. I'm glad you took your time and finished it in the way you wanted to. I'm glad you're back, I've missed you friend!
I’ve recently come back to a project that I previously abandoned because it didn’t go at all according to plan. Similar to casting with resin, I cast masks with latex and if the mould I use isn’t watertight then the latex will come pouring out of the bottom. Needless to say it’s quite stressful at times, so I can definitely empathise with you on this project!
Ooofff yeah that sounds stressful as well and potentially costly! I’m happy to hear you circled back to your project - sometimes all you need is to step away for awhile 😊
@@RaqrexArt Is there a particular platform where I can send you photos of projects that I’ve done. Would really like to show you my “Vecna” (Stranger Things) mask that I made from scratch.

Yay Raquel 🥰 feels like ages! *so long u might notice the name change 😞 unfortunately Jake passed away early December 😭 some issues happened and he needed some anaesthetics twice in the space of a week and they didn’t sit to well with him and he didn’t wake up one night 😭😭 super sad, please give Django a big cuddle from me ❤️❤️
Oh no! I’m absolutely heartbroken to hear that and can only imagine how hard this must be for you. I hope that you’re healing and will have space in your heart for a new dog soon. Jake seemed like a special guy and I know you loved him very much and treated him well. Rest in paradise pupper 💙🥺
@@RaqrexArt thanks Raquel yeah he was my baby and best friend, was super sudden, and I still really struggle, luckily he passed in his sleep peacefully and here at home next to my bed, so glad he wasn’t stuck at the vets when he passed but it’s still hard just not having him around 😞 ❤️❤️❤️
@@RaqrexArt You'd probably be relieved! It cures in like 15 minutes, and you basically can do the whole thing in a 5 gallon bucket so you have a nice solid cast with thick walls that you don't have to support afterward
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS WAS POSTED 2 WEEKS AGO AND I MISSED IT.
Hahaha better late than never 😉 Glad you checked it out!
1. Wonderful
2. Glad you took time to enjoy the holidays
3. Love that it's a table lamp - actually works better and more useful.
Thank you Sam! I’m happy I took my time too - it was definitely the right call 🤗
Been a while since we've seen you. Always love your energy in your videos.
Hope you are well.
Chaos Chaos CHAOS! Love it Raquel!
Well done !!!
Congrats on not abandoning and taking your time. Great success there !!!
it's nice the way you distinguished your lamp from the iconic lamp by making a table lamp instead of a floor lamp.
More practical too 💁♀️
Impressive - both the amount of work and the result!
This turned out SO good!! So happy that I was able to help with this awesome project :)!!
