If you push me I'd say this is a commentary on the lack of useful stimulus for the male youth of Ireland, who are doubley doomed by their lack of positive role models around relationships, and enough cash for real drugs. However, in this instance, I think this is just a story about the things these boys did when they were 14-17. They wanted to have sex. Glue sniffing was rife in Limerick. The discourse would have been "Here, sniff this glue and lose your virginity". For reals.

This song has a deeper meaning than it does at first glance. It is about how young Irishmen can’t socialize, especially with women, without being absolutely whacked on drugs and/or alcohol. This is apparent in the chorus- “There’s no way I’m riding you unless I’m wrecked on bags of glue”. This is symptomatic of the drinking culture in Ireland (yah, we have a problem).
