Hey, I was in the Navy. Spent years as an FMF Corpsman. As such, I ate A LOT of MREs, and, they aren't that bad. Certainly better than the crayons the Marines were always eating...
corporeal/sergeant: Have this! It's good meat! private: What kind of meat? sergeant: The best Russia has to offer! yes this is a stolen, mistranslated joke
All I could think of the first time I saw LazerPig was "Holy shit he looks so much like Total Biscuit" And I wasn't listening terribly well at the start and was surprised you were talking to the pre-recorded video, only for the "video" to talk back.
As I understand it, the “better” Russian MREs are meant for the civie market to convince Vatniks of the superiority of their military. For Western militaries, the US especially, it’s the opposite situation. The best stuff goes to the military and the civie versions are of a lower quality.
52:52 my dad managed to fuck up bacon. It was pre-cooked bacon, and the instructions (for a serving size of about four slices) were to put it in the microwave for a minute per slice. My dad, questioning nothing, decided to put the whole package of fourteen slices in for fourteen minutes. It was smoking when he took it out of the microwave. We still had to eat it, and it tasted like charred wood.
Those desk job Marines you mentioned. You can always recognize them even in civilians clothes and online because they run their mouths like there is no tomorrow and make ridiculous claims. One with a straight face told me he was a coreman, scout sniper, and a hacker at the same time while in service.
The thing is, I would still respect them if they just admitted they were a POG; those people are incredibly important to making the military run as well as it does.
@Shaun_Jones Same, but they don't. They make it clear they are insecure about being a non combat role. Which tells me they don't respect the importance of those roles.
@@killfang9659 to be fair, a lot of people do look down on you for being non-combat; it’s become less common over time as more people learn about the importance of non-combat roles, but I would not be at all surprised if there are some places that will deny you a veteran’s discount if you were a truck driver or a desk jockey.
@oldmanreacts If someone told you that the Emperor made no mistake, because he has a plan, everything is going according to said plan, and could even demonstrate how it shall lead to ultimate victory ... would you want to know? Or would you consider it spoilers?
Still laugh at how the Metal Gear Solid games makes fun of Russian MRE's, especially in Snake Eater ;-) Jean Reno was the best thing in that "Godzilla" movie... Also I was planning to wait until after I had slept to watch this as it came out at midnight local time yet I watched the whole thing until 02:00 ish... Oh well, have nothing to do tomorrow anyway so I can sleep in, this was worth it XD
i don't think the death korps of kireg would eat that mre, it looks like shit.....literaly, not even a hive world gang member nor a chaos demon would even eat that.
Anyone remember the "Landing Porridge 4M22" From Paratrooper Stepochkin? How!? How did the parody bad Russian military rations from a cartoon look better than the real-life thing? Might still eat it... I would give my dogs something else, however. I hold the standards for their care higher than my own.
I had to stop watching a few times and just listen to the audio while doing something else because the 'food' was starting to make me slightly nauseous.
I was terrified for HoE and Lazerpig when I heard that Russian MRE’s use Hexamine tablets as a heat source, because hexamine releases lots of toxic substances when it’s burned. The way to avoid eating the poisoned food is to keep the tins closed when you’re cooking them…which Lazerpig and History of Everything DID NOT do…
Crap like this gives you a real appreciation for American MREs and the logistics behind them. It doesn’t matter where on the entire planet you are, the procedure for keeping your unit fed is to order enough MREs for everyone, plus 10%, and then you don’t worry about it anymore. Water is basically the same, you just call up the water tanker, throw some purification tablets in the tank, and then you don’t worry about it anymore.
I subscribe to the belief that all religions past and present are as real as we make them and therefor the same is true for the gods. Even if he's not in Valhalla because he went somewhere else I'm sure Odin made him an offer.
The crossover of the year boss is moving up in the algorithm!!!
Eating a Russian MRE is how I discovered what quickly became my new favorite food: salo - salted pig fat.

Ah Russian MREs the proto corpse starch:)
Probably an improvement on the rations some IG regiments get...
corporeal/sergeant: Have this! It's good meat!
private: What kind of meat?
sergeant: The best Russia has to offer!
yes this is a stolen, mistranslated joke
I can't believe I'm saying this but actual corpse starch or eating a nap sound better
@@captain-commander8138Agreed on both counts.
@@TheAKgunner I think generic spam might be better

For me, I somehow got Angry Joe vibes from pig's looks.
... you're a genius! We need to make glowing green "ration bars" full of caffeine called Elephant's Foot! Russia's Top Energy Food!
What a great Crossover, and nice Additional Information =)
I literally can’t finish the original video because there’s so much extra context in this one.
I watched this once and the Original Twice.
The Algorithm will be pleased.

At least the Germans were kind enough to put meth in their rations
And the lower quality US MREs are STILL tastier than Russian dog shit!
Despite beeing in the shade most of the time we could see HoE grin the entire time^^
I am expecting a history of everything as a voice on a lore video.
Maybe Imperium navy thing. Or that russian inspired guard regiment.
I had a deep-fried marsbar from a fish and chip shop near my work last year it was delicious
You can get them in every Australian fish and chips, which is why we have an obesity problem.
@@themalcontent100 I know there supposedly common but it was the frist time I'd seen one advertised in the menu.
Boss if Russian MREs have the same logistics as Russia then the poor people who eat it will be crapping out of there thumbs somehow.
1:07:10 proper corpse starch right there
On the battlefield. Never ask where someone got it. 😆
0:01 I already know regrets will be had by all parties involved! May God have mercy on their souls.
2:01 Well, I didn't see that coming
the MRE was so bad HOE lost weight because he just could not think of food this is my head Cannon..... turns out it was neat
You know those wild dogs that live in the irradiated remains of Chernobyl? The Russians found a use for them.
This is sweet, very cool you guys did a collab
"Bubble, bubble... Toilet trouble."

Spam would be better then this Russian MRE where it truly stands for a Meal Ready to Expire
1:14:46 No! Not Mriya, not again!! DX Edit, I will be looking into getting that shirt!!
Im trying to eat noodles but I keep chocking from laughing
Just wait until the Chinese ration. And remember, the delivery drivers are seen as having a higher status then the grunts.
The review was fun to watch, your reaction to it makes it better.
That stuff looks like something you'd expect to see maggots crawling around in, but that might actually increase the calories and taste better.
I finally catch one soon ish after release
The meatballs looked like the rot swamps in calid
1:11:58 it made a sound like a tyranid ripper farting this stuff would be mean to feed to tyranids
My favorite crossover 🥳
I think I would rather eat the breakfast omelet MRE again instead of trying that.
*edit* I see that History of Everything agrees with me.
The Emperor made 10 mistakes and 10 valid choices. Together they constitute the Primarchs.
I wonder what in God's name the grunt rations are, rats wrapped in aluminium foil?
More likely meat from the corpses of their dead friends. Corpse Starch, if you will.
Wow so this is the second channel I follow featuring History of Everything that wasn't LaserPig lol. I just saw him on the Unsubscribe podcast.

1:49:35 probably as durable as the real one.

This shouldn't be considered food.
We like Warhammer 40k if we cannot process Dark Humor properly we should probably revaluate if we want to remain within the fandom.

I had Russian mre before I like them better than us one. Probably because I don’t eat them regularly like us mres😂🪦.
Real russian MRE or just russia produced export one that no russian soldier will ever see?
You probably had the higher-quality export MRE; this here is an actual Russian combat MRE.
