On the flip side, the Collector is so mysterious and thankfully never really explained, which made him a nasty great villain. Unfortunately, The Collection pretty much ruins the whole thing.
Yeah the collection was weird. Made the killer capable of murdering an entire nightclub and getting away with it. Oh yeah he also had a horde of zombies I guess. Idk man, the concept of a team led by Arkin going against him is cool, shouldve just been more grounded. I didnt need to see the weird creature that is the masked man all tactical'd up with an M4 and attack dogs.

Kevin discovered a gleeful satisfaction in tormenting the Wet Bandits, and continued to chase that feeling, pushing it further to where he is now. He uses his natural booby trap skills to capture and torment his victims in ridiculous prankster fashion.

It was great...until the ending. I hate arbitrary "evil will always prevail" endings. The villain was a regular human, not a supernatural entity, as we originally thought. Also, 911 was so accommodating. In real life, they'll ask, "Have you contacted the police yet?" or "Hello, is this a prank?" Also, the girl who called them give them directions to the home, which would have made real 911 hang up.
There is an almost Resident Evil/Survival Horror game bent to this film. The puzzles, the traps, the dire need for ammo. As a movie I get there are holes, but they manage to create a tension without it feeling contrived. There is a worry that is created without having to forcefully threaten bodily harm. I loved this movie, and its sequel “The Collection” which takes place immediately after the events of this film. The director wanted to do the third film sooooo badly but The Collection just didn’t make enough money during its runtime in theaters, which is deeply disappointing. Fun fact! The script for this film was originally written to be an installment in the SAW franchise.
I forgot just how insane this movie was. The fucking FLAMING DOG improvised throwing weapon 💀 I’m sad that the third movie “The Collected” got cancelled
You know what is funny about this film? It has disturbingly creative torture like it's a Saw movie, but then has a villian reveal that feels like it belongs in a Disney movie lol
This is one of those movies I never knew the name of, but i remembered some vague scenes from walking in on my parents watching it as a kid. Like the woman’s mouth getting sewn shut and the dude ripping himself off the fishhooks. Cool that I know the name now bc of this TH-cam video, so thanks for that :D
Really good thriller movie. I remember loving the idea with the traps and especially the scene with the water electrocution, like both sides are actually smarter than your average horror movie characters and try their best to overcome the other. It had the torture porn vibes from movies common those days, but also packed it into a good thrilling plot that reminded of movies like Panic Room without being overly convoluted as the later Saw movies. Great movie, actually.
I actually watched the sequel first not knowing it was exactly that. It wasn’t until about a year later I realised the Collection was part 2. Both solid movies for the TP sub genre.
This movie plays out like an uncensored version of "Criminal Minds". Josh Stewart, the actor who plays Arkin, has appeared on several episodes of "Criminal Minds" as JJ's husband Will.
I ve watched that movie but after the first couple of traps I couldn’t bare it because it is impossible to set all these traps even if you own the place.
The collector is definitely not human (or at least has superpowers lol). Gets all of this set up in just a few hours or something, and then at the end is somehow able to get past the literal convoy of cops, break into the ambulance, and kidnap the guy.
This movie would of been great if they worked into the plot a bit more wiggle room between the family leaving that afternoon and then the contractor coming back before 11PM, it literally only gives maybe 4 hours for the elaborate traps set up. Another thing that bothered me was the guy breaking in walked around a bit too much before going up for the safe to *not* bump into any traps.. then he comes down and suddenly BAM shit in every corner.. And the contraption that swings the poor girl across the room was too much… having her fall down into a flat surface full of nails would of been more believable, that structure must of had some hydraulic system behind it to throw her with such force and literally pick her up from the ground. Also the door didn’t need to have like 6 key locks on there.. like the basic structure of a door and frame make that set up impossible without it damaging the door to the point it would make it easier to open, a few simple outer dead bolt locks would serve the same purpose. Also hear me out, it would of helped the plot more if the robber was the exterminator and the killer the contractor, at least it would of made the whole *sneaking in hundreds of materials into the house* more plausible. Now the foreshadow of the spider in the tea cup and the killer showing mercy to the spider and him having *spider eyes* was connecting him to being an exterminator was too bleak and actually inclined me thing they were about to throw in some supernatural arc to his story. Besides that it was a good film.
The biggest plot hole (the house set up) could’ve been completely filled had they just set the scene as _after_ the vacation and not before. Sure, it wouldn’t give time for the traps and preparations in the main areas, but it would’ve at least made it _posible_
This was absolutely repulsive to watch and I wish he would just leave and not worry about the family but this guy was so so smart and it was really fun to watch
Not into killing good boys irl but laughed loudly when you said "launching the ultimate improvised weapon. A flaming dog" that sentence alone made me press the subscribe button lol.
Arkin has to be one of my favorite horror movie protagonist until now. He was smart throughout the movie, but the masked was just comically powerful enough to out wit him and Arkin ultimately lost.

Bro omg this guy make my day with every vid becouse of his dead humor bro the flying dog got me good damn 😂
Watched this movie while eating… went really well
Insomnia really does benefit my addiction to watching good TH-cam channels releasing content
If Arkin wasn’t a good guy he wouldn’t have gotten caught
Not letting kids die is the bare minimum out here. Idk about the situation over there at kid diddler weebo land
Watched this whole review and all I can think is: poor kitty… poor doggo… 😢
Same. 😢
"the complete deafening sound of silence" I guess so
Gotta catch em' all, I guess.
Love the collector and the collection movies. Love them!
Love the content atm big will keep it up 🙏
This was absolutely repulsive to watch and I wish he would just leave and not worry about the family but this guy was so so smart and it was really fun to watch
Not into killing good boys irl but laughed loudly when you said "launching the ultimate improvised weapon. A flaming dog" that sentence alone made me press the subscribe button lol.
This is one of my fave movies. The second one too. I love these movies
Fun fact dead bodies everywhere by korn was on the soundtrack :)))))
Arkin has to be one of my favorite horror movie protagonist until now. He was smart throughout the movie, but the masked was just comically powerful enough to out wit him and Arkin ultimately lost.
New video by Big Will? “Ahh, I’ll buy it at a high price!”
Arkin rly does have infinite wisdom
Poor kitty
The curly hair girl is Madeleine Zima, the little girl in Fran Drescher's The Nanny. Little Gracy Sheffield.
Gotta be honest, loved the phrase “and now they have two cats!”
I was waiting for you to cover this movie
