I worked for Amazon for 3.5 years. This episode was painfully true. Apparently the people of South Park didn’t learn their lesson from when Walmart came to town.
Our manager quit because he was forced to screw over employees month after month more and more. And eventuly he protested outside alone and told people truths. Pray for him he had 3 kids and was a great man.
Worked for 2 months at Amazon for the holidays. Appreciated the fact that I had a job, but it was the worst experience in terms of jobs. 10 hr work days, 30 mins. for lunch and supervisors on you if you were making 10 less boxes than someone else and if you took too long to go to the bathroom (even though the closest bathroom was on the other side of the huge building) and the fact that you are easily replaceable.
Yep my manager was like whyd u take 15 minutes to get back to ur station? Well bc the bathroom is literally a 5 minute walk just to get to the corner one
Worked at Amazon even longer, definitely not anywhere near the worst experience, they get on people about the bathrooms because 90% someone goes to the bathroom for more than 10 minutes its because they weren't using the bathroom lmao, and yeah making sure everyone is working and putting in effort is kinda a supervisors job? The work itself is insanely easy, especially compared to most other warehouses, im not trying to defend amazon the company, but people whining about having to do the minimum effort is just sad to see lmao
Delivery stations may be different than fulfillment centers, but I applied at one expecting to get run into the ground and it's honestly a joke. I agree with the comment above me; 20 yrs of warehouse experience and Amazon has been one of the easiest. If you actually try and show a little pride in your work, management does notice and they will commend you for it. I hear "I really wish you worked every day, I need you here" quite often. And not in a "we're understaffed we need everyone" kind of way, but as an actual compliment. I don't hide in the bathroom on my phone; I don't stand in aisles trying to squeeze in a text message; I do what I'm paid to do. Again, delivery is a smaller operation, totally possible that has something to do with it, but it's cake compared to other warehouses I've worked. They throw time off at you, both paid and unpaid; for every 8 weeks you work, you can take a week off (and get paid for 1/3 of it). That's not including vacation. Benefit package is solid. There's a lot I like about the job to be honest. The only thing I've found that I don't care for is that there's no raise for Learning Ambassador. It's more responsibility but the only thing you really get for it is something to put on your resume for other roles. So if you're not trying to make "management", there's no point, outside of a different color vest.
Nah Disney World employees can talk whatever they want. You get 3 tickets per 3 months at least, and you get free access. So you can take friends/family on an off-day. Some employees just sell them for cheap to friends too, but that is obviously against the rules.
Im a former amazon employee of nearly 2 years. Imo, the work itself isn't terrible, its the culture, management, and policies that make it a fucking horrible job.
Agreed. I was a pack ambassador for two years for Amazon. As long as you do your job well and don't screw off then you're fine. The management is just shady and the work is repetitive yes but that's the way it is at alot of jobs.
That's how so many jobs are. If you boil it down to just the work, it isn't so bad for the pay except in certain circumstances. When I was in high school, in order to push us all in to college, teachers, counselors, etc would all quote this statistic about how many hours the average person works in their dault life and another one about how many adults hate their jobs. They'd say, "You don't want to spend that many hours of your life hating your job. We just want you to be happy." There are definitly undeniable advantages to going to college and working in a more skilled field, but the argument is flawed, because the reason why most people hate their jobs has nothing to do with the job it'sself. It's the terrible management, the assholes they have to work with, the terrible hours they are ordered to work if they want to keep that job, etc.
you gotta not be picky and keep appllying on the website for your ideal job.. trust me ;its the easiest job ive ever got but you have to have email alerts set up on amazon force to get notified and apply asap

let’s all be honest and say that south park (and Family Guy) has taught us so much. they don’t sugar coat it, and it subconsciously gives you an understanding of their experience
I think I like this idea, where people that live and know the actual thing, react to what a show(like southpark or simpsons) has described it to be, and all its jokes
My only complaint about that show is you used to be able to just tune in any ol time and be able to follow the episodes story but after awile they had to keep up with current events and if you miss too episodes you got no idea wtf is going on
The breaks weren't really breaks, two 15 minute breaks, 3 mins to walk to the canteen, 3 mins to walk back to work, 9 mins to sit down and eat if your fast enough after walking to your locker and/or toilet.
Funniest thing is how I actually applied to Amazon back in, like, 2015. I took one of those "personality" (or whatever you call it) tests as part of applying. When I was done, the person looked at their computer screen...and said that was it. I didn't even get an interview. (Of course, they claim those stupid tests don't mean anything, but clearly they do.) Turns out I was the lucky one.
Not Amazon, but I work for Walmart as a Fulfillment Associate and between unloading trucks, stocking shelves, organizing the back room, and dealing with garbage from the rest of the store, on top of the the customer is the most important, and safty is the most important, and getting your work done is ALSO the most important thing you do in a day, management is never happy with us, even though the store would have no products to sell without us every day
You guys get paid enough. That's the market value for your work. If 100 people would apply to get your position at that price, that's the value. Be a doctor or even carpenter if you want to get paid more. That way there aren't 100 capable people lining up for your job.
One thing I notice is that you must work at your own pace. if you try to push yourself they will expect you to perform at that level all the time then you just end burning out yourself with no energy at the end of your shift.
I worked for amazon for a week packing things. I once pulled a boxed item from the top shelf, and whoever placed it there also placed a knife on top of that box. When I pulled the box the knife fell on me. Luckily the knife was wrapped in bubble wrap and the handle hit me on the head, not the blade but it was still heavy. I reported it and they def. Tried to blame me for it. I quit the next day.
I currently work 12 hour graveyard shifts at Amazon!! I work from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am!! I’m hating life rn because of it. I have no life cause after my work days I have to get back to sleeping during the night and not days. Also I’m supposed to be at work rn but I honestly didn’t want to go so here I am on TH-cam. Also the time off benefits are trash. I only get 36 hours of paid time off for the whole year!!
What city are you in? I'm only asking in case you live in a city where a certain company is. Jobs are zero stress there. Also in case you live in a city where reselling is awesome.
One of the most depressing things about working for Amazon as a driver is that you don't get Prime as a benefit. I spend all day delivering people's prime packages, but I can't get myself to pay for prime when I know it'd be an hour of delivering to pay for it.
Amazon makes you sign a non-disclosure agreement once you get hired. The current employees will not speak badly about amazon, on video; It could potentially get them fired.
Maverick D. It only says you can't talk about confidential information like new products or customer information. It does let employees talk about working conditions and wages.
This is an accurate representation of working at Amazon, I have been working there for 9 months now. It is the most boring, exhausting work you can do, most people who get hired drop out within the first 2 weeks to 1 month later.
@@vtjake3761 Well he's making things happen, people want everything and they want it FAST. To make it happen you need lotta people who work tirelessly. He's giving people what they need.
@@pmaster1173 Well , no. Amazon pay NO federal taxes, and a 2018 report came out and said 1/3 Amazon workers are on foodstamps. That's not "giving people what they need." He's the richest man in the world, and can't pay his employees (who I agree work TIRELESSLY) a livable wage.
They should look into the suicide at phx5 amazon, the associate stated that he was being bullied by the management and that's why he did it, but they just gave us a 5 minute speech about the hotlines and work still needs to get done.
For years people have been complaining about the low minimum wage. This place starts you that at least $15 an hour, with medical, dental and vision. Options for 401k, and you start off with paid time off you can build on. The trade-off is, you have to work for it. This is what we refer to as a "job". Pay inequality is a real thing at some places, in this case we have an effort inequality.
Doesn’t matter what company you work for it’s always about numbers to them. They always say that your safety and well being matter to us but in reality it doesn’t. And you know how they show us appreciation they gave us free ice cream instead of paying us more. Smh 🤦🏽♂️
Not surprising at all. I work as a dishwasher for a local restaurant that is owned by the same person who owns a local chain of organic markets. I get paid minimum wage, as do several chefs who have culinary degrees. I suppose it's justified in that you get free meals, but screw that. You don't even get to choose what you get, and organic does not mean low calorie. Hell, I have to go to the bathroom to get a break. Supposedly, I'll get a raise after a year. A dollar, probably.
I'm about start working for a local fulfilment center soon, I do admit that I have mixed feelings about it because of the stories I hear about the place. But most of the people who work there who have watched this episode can relate to it, and that makes me nervous
@@daniel-ss1rk I just finished my 10 months experience there. I didn't go away , I was "fired". Why? Well , I was starting to slow down cause I cannot keep with that rate of productivity (lost 14 kg during the first month there).

Thats all this country hs become is nothing but monopolies its why everything sucks now
let’s all be honest and say that south park (and Family Guy) has taught us so much. they don’t sugar coat it, and it subconsciously gives you an understanding of their experience
I think I like this idea, where people that live and know the actual thing, react to what a show(like southpark or simpsons) has described it to be, and all its jokes
Thank you Amazon Employees for the great job you do!
People seem to forget that the ones working behind their order/s process are also human. We appreciate grateful customers like you 💖
Haven't watched SP in years, but if they ever do a South Park version of FBE/React, I'm so there
Funny how the irony of the use of the song "16 Tons" by Tennessee Earnie Ford is lost on EVERYONE in the react video...
JOE VS. THE VOLCANO LEVEL PERFECTION. 🌋💯
Southpark is still relevant. Some say it lost its perks. But I still stand by it. Really great series
My only complaint about that show is you used to be able to just tune in any ol time and be able to follow the episodes story but after awile they had to keep up with current events and if you miss too episodes you got no idea wtf is going on

The breaks weren't really breaks, two 15 minute breaks, 3 mins to walk to the canteen, 3 mins to walk back to work, 9 mins to sit down and eat if your fast enough after walking to your locker and/or toilet.
this is true.
Funniest thing is how I actually applied to Amazon back in, like, 2015. I took one of those "personality" (or whatever you call it) tests as part of applying. When I was done, the person looked at their computer screen...and said that was it. I didn't even get an interview. (Of course, they claim those stupid tests don't mean anything, but clearly they do.)
Turns out I was the lucky one.
If it doesnt mean anything then whats the point of having it lol
Not Amazon, but I work for Walmart as a Fulfillment Associate and between unloading trucks, stocking shelves, organizing the back room, and dealing with garbage from the rest of the store, on top of the the customer is the most important, and safty is the most important, and getting your work done is ALSO the most important thing you do in a day, management is never happy with us, even though the store would have no products to sell without us every day
Dude: gets crushed
Lady: *laughs* that almost happened to me 1ce
Me: hahaha yea so funny
Ok?
THEY EXPOSED TF OUT OF AMAZON🤣saying they barley get paid enough lmaoooooooo. I stan
*Barely, barley is a grain type...
You guys get paid enough. That's the market value for your work. If 100 people would apply to get your position at that price, that's the value.
Be a doctor or even carpenter if you want to get paid more. That way there aren't 100 capable people lining up for your job.
$16 an hour is quite enough for hauling boxes around a warehouse. I do about the same amount of labor for minimum wage.
I heard a chick got fired for using adult toys in the bathroom

I just started my first day at Amazon, I really respect all these people that have worked here longer than 3 months
PetitePhillyLife WOW good on you for quitting... I sure would have smh
Good for you. Screw those people. No crappy job is worth that.
Amazon watching "fired...fired... fired..."
How about having Wal-Mart Employees React to Wal-Mart in media.
I have a number of friends who work there...it would not be proper to televise that type of profanity that would be used to describe working there.
This did happen in real life. Covid slowed down deliveries, people lost their minds.

YES! FINALLY SOMETHING SOUTH PARK RELATED! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR YEARS! also great episodes to have them watch. they were amazing.
I work there too and I was surprised by how accurate the episode was.
The only big difference I noticed was an automated wrapper. We had to hand wrap everything.

All fulfillment centers are like this. I worked at one for Macys that was just like this too. I imagine Wal-Mart does something similar as well.
I work in storage for a clothing store chain in my country and it's like that. My part-time pay barely makes the mold inhalation and box papercuts😂
Alyssa Dyer what store?
@@anonymoushuman8443 But what's stopping the bigwigs from retaliating for bringing up how shitty they are anyway?
This is an accurate representation of working at Amazon, I have been working there for 9 months now. It is the most boring, exhausting work you can do, most people who get hired drop out within the first 2 weeks to 1 month later.
Well Bezos is a leftist moron who "claims" he cares about people but he doesn't at all.
@Logan Waltz saving 15% on car insurance with Geico is a choice.

I am amazed how erudite and intelligent these employees are. They have real insight to the Amazon culture.

Most are former employees and trust many probably have a job lined up with how Amazon's system is.
I'm about start working for a local fulfilment center soon, I do admit that I have mixed feelings about it because of the stories I hear about the place. But most of the people who work there who have watched this episode can relate to it, and that makes me nervous
