That was one hell of a great ride. Alvarado slingshotted the last turn as perfectly as it can be done, then proceeded to humiliate the rest by hand riding the Runhappy colt. Very enjoyable race to see, congrats to all and best wishes for the future.
I know Runhappy is known for what he did at shorter distances, but this last to first move makes me wonder how his son might do with increased distance.
3,4,8 and 11 were the four runners that had more than 1 route win from their siblings. They ran 1st and 3rd off the hot pace. I know it was a 7 furlong race. But that proven stamina shined today.
Yep, wrong lead, which only makes the win that much more impressive bc he was on the wrong lead the entire stretch, had he swapped, he might've won by a larger margin

I know the horses up front were getting tired, and I know the speed figure wasn’t amazing, but I think this colt’s performance was pretty darn impressive, especially being so young and green. And he’s so maneuverable, weaving in and out of traffic as Junior asked of him. I hope he continues on an upward trajectory.
Castillo of the number 2 didn’t need to press the pace you look at the form of the horse he’s won from off the best pace. Didn’t understand why he sent him to the lead. IDK. But great job to Contessa team great way to upset the field
