I’m convinced that Benoit was never quite right after Eddie died. They were best friends, practically brothers, and I remember seeing Chris in the memorial clips they had, he legit lost a big part of what kept him grounded. Even seeing clips of him in backstage storylines after that, he looked haunted, and I haven’t seen anyone with that look since. I’m not saying he wouldn’t have done what he did if Eddie had lived, but I think the chances of that happening would have been lowered somehow

Unfortunately death changes people especially if you lose someone you care about. I wished Chris would had retired and got help before he did what he did. It’s like what New Jack (R.I.P.) said, you can’t justify what he did.

I agree, looking back many people claimed that CTE was the case for it. But I think that is only part of what led to his downfall. The effects of loosing Eddie and his often intense and dangerous approach to the Industry ultimately was destroying him mentally. However that still doesn’t mean it excuses what he did, everyone has a choice.

    • @togucvinw7
      @togucvinw7 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I DO NOT condone what Chris did.
You have to remember though....THEY STUDIED HIS BRAIN and it was VERY clear that the areas of his brain that were severely affected were the areas that harbor our ability to CONTROL OUR EMOTIONS and DECISION MAKING!!! They compared his brain to I believe they said to an 80yr old with Alzheimers! Then you add losing quite possibly THE ONLY OTHER PERSON who helped keep you grounded.... ESPECIALLY in times where you were not amongst your own family.........He was a walking glass shell with 50lbs of Grenades AND C4 connected to a very unstable detonator inside of him. It would only take JUST ONE small wrong move and BOOM!
Had he lived...he would have had a LEGIT argument for a Temporary Insanity plea and Possibly had gotten him sentenced to an INSTITUTION.

You have performers who risked life and limb (many of who actually *lost* their lives and limbs) for your company and this is what you think of them? I don't know if he's as evil as Buck Zumhofe or Grizzly Smith (google them), but he is definitely ONE OF the most evil men in wrestling just for how uncaring and ruthless and disgusting he was. While I can appreciate him in part making me a fan of WWE when I was growing up, that doesn't exonerate or justify or absolve him of all the depraved stuff he has done or tried to cover up. Vince is still a tyrant, Pat Patterson should NOT be remembered at all and Bruce Prichard is still a meat rider. I don't care what Bruce says. If Vince cared that much for you, then where was that exact same care for literally everyone else from other staff to other wrestlers, huh, Bruce?
As for the other people in the doc, I just wanna give Shane a hug after everything he said and went through. Heyman was great, Tony Atlas was great. Meltzer was surprisingly good and I was left a little disappointed by Austin saying he denied CTE, like "damn, man. You really gonna say that after all the research that's out there?"
Overall, it was a good documentary. In regards to the current investigation, I hope Vince is found guilty and they throw away the key. There's no coming back from this anymore. WWE doesn't want him. Wrestling in general don't want him. Fans don't want to see him. All we want is justice.

I watched all 6 episodes; Vinny Mac definitely was a trailblazer that stuffed out any and all competition. Dude thought he was untouchable outside of the Squared Circle.

Alot of old timers don’t really believe in it you gotta understand CTE has only been around as long as Facebook…it’s not something these guys grew up with…most of them were 40-50 years old when they first heard of CTE

Heyman might have been dramatic in the way he said it but 💯 Vince clearly only loves the business of wrestling...it means more than anything else to him and he's been willing to put himself and those closest to him at risk for the sake of it for decades. Everything good he might have done were also done in service of the business

At this point, The Mr.McMahon character was just a dramatized version of himself. He even said himself multiple times, hey I'm just taking a part of myself and making it appealing for wrestling. But the thing some people dont know the part he took from himself to make Mr. McMahon wasn't small and too far off to the point it blurred real-life and dramatizing himself. Whats worse was I was young and i defended people like Pat Patterson but now when this stuff is unfolding and Vince is covering this up, it is just very dark and very messed up where it's no excuses.

So one thing i found weird was at the end when they asked Vince what words he would use to describe himself, one thing he said was sexually active........that says it all!! Why would he say that unless he wants the world to know that yea im 70 years old and yes im still fuckin....pretty good for an old guy right!!! 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️😡😡😡😡

Vince is the scapegoat of the industry. All these old wrestlers and bookings trying to play innocent, but everyone knows that the industry created Vince, not the other way around.

You make a good point. It’s not just Vince’s fault. The wrestlers wanted to keep wrestling and wrestlers have some of the blame as well. They want to blame everything bad with wrestling on Vince. I don’t think he should come back but if he does, I’m gonna be laughing at all these people crying and complaining and whining. They act they’ll stop watching wrestling but they won’t. Who knows, Vince could be the target of a conspiracy.

The fans are to blame because they just want entertainment and they want blood and violence. They care about the wrestlers now but they didn’t always. The fans are also not that smart and the promoters take advantage of that. They are fooled easily quick to jump to conclusions. They used think it was real because of Kayfabe too.

Honestly I think the truth of the matter is that Vince McMahon is human being. He did some incredible things, and he did some heinous things. You can think whatever you like about him, but you have to acknowledge everything.

Vince was trying to buy the documentary back from Netflix, he and Bruce realized how bad this would make him look.
