Its simple: the project was so ambitious that it was actually stupid. Our politicians couldn't care to upgrade existing tracks (whats classified as fast at present is hilarious) but they started talking about how making a track and putting a vacuum chamber around it could make it fast.

    • @darktitan8085
      @darktitan8085 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

@WonderShot let me explain it in simple way bro:
      1. You know how laying roads has lakhs of crores of Rupees spent? This project says literally: first make a separate corridor, preferably elevated or underground. Then put a tunnel of thick concrete or whatever other materials around this corridor. Then spend more energy sucking out all the atmospheric pressure from the tunnel, then spend more on designing special pods (pods, not coaches) that can withstand the vacuum, then spend a lot on its maintenance, then spend on generating way too much power so you can constantly monitor this entire corridor and keep the pressure at check.
      2. Already, roads themselves as i said are incredibly expensive. This idea is proposing a seperate corridor and specialised tunnel which is already overkill.
      3. Logistics should be as affordable as you can keep it. So which company is stupid enough to pay over the sky exorbitant prices for the same goods to be shipped, and which customer is stupid enough to do the same?
      4. We dont need something as fast as possible, we need something to sustain, which is true for Logistics mostly. Just imagine, if one of the places even has a slight crack whole corridor will need to be stopped. One maintenance issue and whole corridor is useless. You might say alternative corridors but how many will you lay when one itself is so uneconomical?
      5. Maintenance here is going to take a lot of time by comparison because of the complexity. Logistics is about as fast as possible while as affordable and sustainable as possible. This already violates 2 of the core principles.
      6. Comparison with bullet trains are not correct, the whole premise is different. Lets imagine you can complete delhi to chennai within lese than a day. Why now, do you want to complete it in slightly lesser time at significantly more resources usage? This project is an extreme case of diminishing returns. Bullet trains have served the countries well, hyperloops havent. Because whats the state of the current Indian railway? CAG already reported that the "new technologies" promoted by the central govt from a long time has barely been implemented in most tracks. Do you really think this will do it?
      7. This project has already been in discussion in western countries, and its already been scrapped because of how unviable it is. I can tell you with confidence brother, that this will go absolutely nowhere.
      8. Lastly, many discussions and digital trial runs would've already been completed, as you said. But that's exactly why it'll go nowhere.
You can watch some European content creators, they've already discussed the same, you dont have to take my word for it

    • @darktitan8085
      @darktitan8085 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@anandsuralkar2947 its extremely stupid even if it brings tourism
How many people actually care about a train ride? Sure therell be hype at first but its really outrageous to think that initial hype can even cover a fraction of the costs involved.
Secondly, comparison with middle eastern countries is a very bad point. Their projects are based on completely different parameters. If youre taking dubai, id like to ask if you can call dubai a city on the first place. Just search for the same on youtube; middle eastern economics are absurd to say the least.
The cost of this significantly outweighs any advantage it can give. We should not be pursuing a 400% gain if the cost for it is over 2 billion % increase. Its just that simple.
Lastly, its also outrageous to assume this will be open to tourists first and logistics next, the entire point of this thing's advertising campaign is to improve logistics, exactly where it stops making sense. The idea is ambitious, the implementation is impractical to say the least.

I don't mind govt. pushing to be a pioneer in the technology field. So saying building only tested proven things is not a progressive approach.
But at the same time, there should be some testing and viability check of a project.
If the maglev technology is not gaining any favour in the expert countries based on economic viability. Hyperloop clearly seemed like a more costly project.. initial as well as operational.
I don't know how will they make even the cargo version of the hyperloop. They would have to make big changes in the technology and its plan to make it viable..(Something like Xipline in rwanda)
Otherwise I don't see how it will be cheaper than any bullet train project or give significant edge over it.
Maybe something like roller coasters would be made for logistics.. only ultra strong non-rusting steel frame tracks to run Pods/carts with cargo on it.
Like some countries have huge length of tracks on hilly areas with people riding with a cart on it.

If the price is low it will interfere with train and airplane transport as the speed and time saving in hyperloop is much more than any other transport.
Hyperloop is amazing thing but far ahead of time. Future is hyperloop but due to chances of job losses and complete distruction of other transport it will not be reality in near future.

There are some obstacles that can deter a country's progress or even stall it from becoming an advanced economy even if it has good governance. These obstacles are beyond the control of the government. They include.
    1. Frequent natural disasters
    2. Unfavorable terrain eg. being too hilly or densely forested
    3. Lack of natural resources, especially water and arable and habitable land
    4. Being landlocked
    5. Being surrounded by poor and unstable neighboring countries
    6. Being too remote
    7. Being too small in size
    8. Crappy climate eg. being too hot, tropical or cold
    9. Effects of global warming
    10. Invasive plants, animals and insects
Contrary to the belief of some classical economists, it's actually not possible for every country to become an advanced economy just like it's not possible for every person within an economy to be a millionaire.

No it wasn't a scam. It was an experiment however crazy and if it would have worked, India would have jumped at par with developed nations.
Just like how India did with 4g/5G in telecom. While the world first had land lines and then DLL, and then 2G and then 3G and so on. India during 3G was also far behind in infra and instead of investing nore on 3g jumped straight to 4G LTE and today we are at par with USA.
Sometimes lraps of generations of technology is absolutely required.

We as a country should take this opportunity to implement it first so that we have an edge in this technology and can make it a good export business, but sadly we are not so innovative and always waiting for others to adapt it and we only follow them blindly 😢. NO, hyperloop is basically a pod in a vacuum tunnel and it has been proposed nearly 200+ years ago...the reason why we humans didn't utilize this concept is because it's a dumb idea and not as realistic and reliable as a high-speed rail...Elon Musk simply stole the idea and called it Hyperloop and said he invented it...this shit will never be made because it simply does not even come close to a highspeed rail, and we need more highspeed rail and buses in India and not waste money on these dumb vaporware concepts that are unrealistic.

Bro ill explain why this isn’t the future
      Imagine YOU have 2 choices
      1) a 160km/hour train which has a capacity of 1500-2000, ticket that costs 200-400 rs
      Or
      2) a 840km/ hour hyperloop which has a capacity of only 2-4 people per pod, 140$ (11200rs)
      What would you choose?
People who can afford it will only use it once or twice, even business class airplane ticket is cheaper.
Its impractical, low capacity, high Maintainence(vacume+supermagnets).
What would the Indian citizen do with such useless product that s/he cant afford ?
