thanks! think i got it going with my HX Stomp :) While digging in the menus I discovered it can sync tempo with MIDI clock. I was planning on doing a separate "tap tempo" lane but looks like I won't have to (hoping it's reliable/stable!)

Great great video for automated scenario! Why don’t you use tempo sync from Ableton? is it stabile or has micro-changing value that causes delay pitching? (Pedantic mode on: MIDI-CC does’t have “velocity” but “control value”, velocity is for MIDI note only 😀)

Hello, im having huge amount of latency when my patch changes, to the point of me having to place the "patch change" clip a back so that the helix can manage to change the patch in time. I've noticed you have nearly zero latency on the change, what can i do to reduce that latency and what causes that latency?
Are you now able to do this with the Prime App with their recent update of MIDI Cues out?
I don't have the Prime App, but if you're able to create a MIDI track using CC numbers rather than just notes and connect it to the Helix is should be!
Hi. Great video. I’m willing to do the same thing, ie use Helix to control ableton (play/stop/next etc.) and have ableton change presets on Helix at the same time. How did you set the triggers for ableton?
I’ve set the snapshot mode on bottom row and stomp on top row. I wanted to use the stomp row for the ableton controls: play/stop/previous-next locator, meaning that in every preset I would have access to the 4 snapshots of a song, AND have the ableton controls sitting on the top row.
No problem to get it to work, but when I « stress test » it (for example pressing the previous/next locator switches continuously, on and on...), after a minute there’s always a stomp switch (in toggle mode) that stays « on » in a snapshot... if it’s the next locator switch, then when that specific snapshot is recalled, ableton goes to next locator automatically, as if I pressed it... and therefore skips a whole section of the song 😱
I tried all settings, using midi notes, CC’s... always the same bug.
I’m afraid of setting it up like this for a live gig, even if I would never have to use the previous/next locator during a song... but it’s not reassuring having a potential bug waiting to happen...
A workaround would be to create an « ableton remote » preset, separate from the songs presets.. and insert it after every song. (So I don’t have to tap dance back to the ableton command preset after each song)...
Anyways.... any idea? And sorry for the long message 🤗

Can this be done Using only Helix native and no stomp box? ultimately my goal is to have any preset guitar sound automated to change through out a song so there is no need to have the stomp box.
I can´t find the automation Template in the Worship Ministry Toolkit. was it deleted ?
Consolidating the clip won’t nullify all of the preset/ snapshot changes? All the changes will still happen? This has been one of the issues with automation of Helix I have run into, trying to figure out a “one and done method” - set it up once and be done. Definitely going to try this! Thanks!

Adam is this easy enough to get export midi files ? Reason I ask I bought a m live b beat to run backing tracks and it has ability to run the midi files too. Studio one fails to export the midi data from automation tracks
where is the .Als file in the kit? I can't seem to find it

I have songs that start with clean and I always have cleans on snapshot 2. However, Ableton is completely unable switch to snapshot 2 at all, it's stuck on snapshot 1. I tried hacking it by zooming in really close on the MIDI clip and just painting in a brief moment of snapshot 1 but to no avail. This is really the last nail in the coffin for me when it comes to Ableton Live. It's brought me nothing but hassles, no matter if it's the Axe-Fx or the Helix.
I don’t get it , sounds , like you don’t have to play , just strum along , and then a solo comes in , or other parts .. like samples .., or backing track .
dont add music it is distracting
