Stella Glow is definitely one of my favourite JRPs of all time, up there with Radiant Historia and Yo Kai watch. I decided to pick it up on the e-shop before it shutdown, and got a MASSIVE discount (90% off for $6 lol). Probably the best $6 I spent in my life. The music, battling system, story and characters make this an extremely satisfying experience. If you like JRPGs, it’s basically a must have. The main complaints I see on the game is that it can be cliche and filled with tropes, but this game does it so well. My first play through took me about 80 hours, and second took around 40. The battling system is done really well, and in my opinion not too difficult battles. At some stages, there are really weird and annoying requirements to beat it (like protect a character who is HALF WAY across the stage) but after some thinking, should be a breeze. Honestly, doing a little grinding here and there was really fun, with a feeling of achievement and becoming stronger quite satisfying. MUSIC. Did I mention the music? It’s SO GOOD. My favourite tracks are by far Rusty Key, Amatsu Battle, Alto’s determination and countless others. All in all, this game is really good. So good that it made my play a 2nd time just to see each character’s ending. I hope others will enjoy it too (at the cost of their arm and leg if they’re going physical lol)
Loved reading this comment. It's always fun to see others enjoy the same games that I played. I agree with all of your input. Glad it is getting love. Thanks for watching!
Radiant Historia is absolutely goated. I remember borrowing it back on the DS and I ended up buying it for the 3DS and I revisit that game yearly. Masterpiece
I used to follow the studio that made this game back in the day. It was called Imageepoch, and this game was their last game before it closed down. The studio made a lot of anime styled JRPGs in a span of 10 years, and some of those are pretty bad, to be honest. That said, Stella Glow holds a special place in my heart. It's a sequel to the Luminous Arc series in all but name, which I used to love when I was younger, and it really feels like they managed to polish the formula after the 3 previous games. It does have those balancing issues, but the art, music and presentation still feel great. Thank you for this video!
I didn't know that the studio closed down. That's a big bummer as I loved this game. I will have to look up the Luminous Arc series... I wasn't aware of it. Thank you for your comment and all the input on this game. It was a fun review to create and I'm glad it's catching some people who enjoyed Stella Glow. Thanks for watching!
I absolutely loved this game,it was one of the first two games I got for my 3DS. I got Stella Glow and 7th Dragon 3 Code VFD that day. Highly recommend both
I also have 7th Dragon 3 Code VFD! Haven't played that one but I'm glad you said something about it. I'll have to check it out soon. Stella Glow was a blast to play. Thanks for watching!
omg you played this game lol! @1:45 wow the cutscenes look like a legit anime! love that! @4:19 okay Sakuya is a babeeee! And a fire priestess too?! My favorite already.. @6:03 LOL Nonoka's costume is killing me!!! @6:49 ohh Hilda had saved the world before!? That's cool when stories have that "come back around" moment @7:32 damn why the heck isn't this an actual anime!!!? @10:15 "my man Rustyyyy.." as Rusty smirks hahah there's always one character that's a perv 🤣 @12:38 LMFAO @14:21 my damn jaw dropped!! 😂😅 @15:40 😳the sound effects... and wording... lmao! @20:04 damn!! a 4 hour battle!!!? yeah I can appreciate the battle fields looking so different! very very cool game Tiger!
The cutscenes were gorgeous in this game and looked like they were straight from an anime. LOL Nonoka is my girl... I'm sure you could tell with my enthusiastic sound effects. The epilogues are WILD Val!!! I had to turn down the volume as I felt so uncomfortable 😂😂😂
Awesome review! Nonoka sound effect had me dying LOL! I would say that this is one of your best review! Really well detailed, some good footage and some hilarious jokes! As far as recommendation goes, you've opened a door to a brand new genre so there are a ton of them! I know you really like Onimusha so there's Onimusha Tactics on GBA. The Mercenaries Saga on Switch is also a great series! I think there's like 7 games in that series now! If you want a challenge, Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1 is probably the best one to tackle! And since you like games with humor, the Disgaea series is one that should fit that bill! I could go on an on but those should should keep you occupied for a couple of years lol! Great video and keep up the good work!
I do have Onimusha Tactics, but I need to play it still! I may have one or two of the Mercenaries Saga.... but I can't remember which ones. Thanks for the suggestions, this was a really fun game to play through and I like the idea of playing others like it. Thanks for watching buddy!
I took a break halfway through it. I just closed my Nintendo3DS and came back to it about 30 minutes later but other than that, you can't save during battle! So lock in and get ready for the long haul haha. Thanks for watching!
I used to enjoy playing some select JRPGs (some _Final Fantasties,_ and _Grandia II_ kind of touched me personally in surprising ways), but anymore the stories are so convoluted and fantastical that it makes it a bit hard for me to buy into them anymore. Also, the talking seems to go one endlessly in todays JRPGs. Like, can I play a game when I’m playing a game, please? I didn’t read this much sh*t even when I was in college (which…might explain a lot, come to think of it… 🤔)
Wow, a Grandia guy eh? Props buddy. I like you even more now! The stories and tropes can be pretty predictable now which is disappointing. Right, my wife talks too much as it is? Can't a guy just play games in peace and quiet? Thanks for watching.
I do like to play a good tactical turn based game Although I've never heard of this one before, Wow this game certainly seems to have a lot of twists and turns, From what you're saying about the female characters This would have certainly of kept a teenage me interested 😂 Although I would have been in my mid-thirties when this was released 😂 12:53 I ninja with fat cannons, Sounds like my kind of girl 😂 13:18 Cookies and milk jugs, You're really selling this game to me now 😂 14:06 Did you say family 3 $ 0me? 17:24 I'm all about Non pc language And spicy Humour 😂 Yes Japanese developers do make their Female characters fun, Modern Western developers make them look like Blokes and they are girl bosses 😂 20:15 A 4 hour battle sounds a little bit heavy to me, Fantastic video the game definitely has me intrigued, Do you know if it's available on modern platforms, Preferrably PlayStation but if I have to I can play on the switch
LOL those girls kept me interested the entire time i was playing. Haha, yes we all love fat cannons on this channel! I feel like this game made me giggle the entire playthrough. Thanks for watching this review buddy! The four hour battle was a little tough to get through but in the end, the experience of beating this game was worth it. I think it's just available on the 3DS at this point : (
I remember playing the demo for this and thinking it looked cool. So much so that a few years ago buying the CE for it but never playing it. Given how much it goes for these days I was considering selling it recently but I think your review convinced me to keep it and play it someday! Witch Waifus!!!! 😅
You should definitely crack that open and play it! It's well worth breaking the seal. Haha, the tuning factor in this game is crazy. Thanks for watching!
Super stoked you got this in your library! Play it sometime and let me know how you like it. Ohhhhh nice, I didn't know about the SMT game on the 3DS. I'll look into it!
An underrated gem. When I first saw Stella Glow, I didn't think much and forgot about. Then Thanksgiving came and I was SO Bored I bought the game and expected your mediocre rpg. And it blew my mind. Yes some would say the story if mediocre. Yes some would say its anime cliche. But you know what. The execution is what made that mediocre great. Keep in mind this was during Fire Emblem Fates came out and that game story was......Meh. Stella Glow did an excellent job despite what it was given. Top it off with great voice acting and music. Its a hidden gem. One of my favorite games on the 3DS!
I've never been into grid based tactical games. And the plot is way to confusing for my dumb self. But literally was LOL at all the tig o biddies. My man rusty sounds like my kinda guy and the one scene where it was all dark, he was definitely taxing that booty. Lol I won't play this one but a great review
Lol the plot can get pretty confusing. Rusty is our type of guy. I was shocked at that in the dark scene, had to turn the volume down when I was playing it. Didn't want Cherry to think I was up to no good. Thanks for watching buddy!

the Luminous Arc series as a whole are Tactical RPGs like no other
I only wish i got to actually play 3. I was obsessed with the first two games
I really need to seek these out now!

I’ve seen a partly play through of this game but not all the way through. But up only until the plot twist with Hilda was revealed.
It's such a great game! I hope you get to play it sometime. Thanks for watching.
@ your welcome dude
As the head of a small studio, I love watching videos like this while I work.
Awesome! Glad it could provide some entertainment while you work. Best of luck in the gaming industry!

I can't wait to play this game!!! I own it!
Yes!! Give it a shot sometime soon pal!
You won't regret it.
4 hour battle, wow haha! I do have this as I do need to play it. The never ending backlog haunts me lol
The epilogues to this game and the characters are crazy.
How did you manage that 4 hour level? Can you save in the middle of the battle?
I took a break halfway through it. I just closed my Nintendo3DS and came back to it about 30 minutes later but other than that, you can't save during battle! So lock in and get ready for the long haul haha. Thanks for watching!
I have to watch you on 1.5x speed to make it sound more normal speed
Haha I do talk slow sometimes. No worries, thanks for watching!
Can't say I'm a big JRPG fan, but it is fun when one has a lot of content and adds layers to the formula 😀
Well I appreciate you watching anyway. Thanks for dropping a comment. There were some silly parts to this game that I enjoyed.
im actually playing it now!!! its soo fun with game play and story!!
same! all hail the mighty emulator 😂
Awesome!! Best of luck and happy gaming. Thanks for watching!
Nothing wrong with that!
4:17 you said her name right
Awesome, usually I slaughter the names haha. Thanks for watching!

Glad I picked this up digitally on the 3DS. I'll have to play it sometime especially for the girls. Lol. The SMT 3DS TRPG is fun.

Yes, unfortunately, I think they did : (
