I stopped skating in 2017 after being a skater for 17 years. watching you put this beautiful deck together definitely has put the bug back into me and start skating again at 36. Good work and great video 🤙
8:22 so true except when you get a deck that just never clicks with you. personally i think it’s good to have a rotation of trucks. ace - shortens the wb indy - slightly longer than an ace/ shorter than thunder or venture thunder or venture - longer wb whichever deck you get has to at least pair with one of em trucks or just get wb tool
Got my first April deck the Rayssa Leal first pro model (fairy graphic). And I'd say, I love the concave. It's not as aggressive as my previous my country's local brand, and pretty light while not feeling too fragile. Such a deal I got it for only 38 bucks on clearance sale!
I had an 8 inch board in my closet for 4 5 years. Put it on recently and went skating yesterday for the first time in 5 years. Man 10 mins and i was done! Im 38 btw and not the young thang i once was but still got them switch heels
I skate the true fit 8.06 with thunder 148s (8.25) trucks. The wheels line up better with the edge of the deck than with 8 in trucks. Better/easier pinch!!
riding those tablets rn bc u got me on the small wheel train. I ordered 99a’s but the shop only had 101s in 50mm so rocking the 101s rn love the slide on em
went to Bills Wheels yesterday in Santa Cruz and they had a set of 49mm 99duro tablets had to grab em will try on next set up. also sticker on them dated 7.12.23
I always change my set up seems around same time you do. lol I was on 9-10 inch boards than went down to 8.75-9 for a while, than 8.5, than 8.3. now Im Stuck on a 8.25 lol but still ride a 9 for Curbs My current setup is "almost" your setup now: DECK = 8.25 Santa Cruz Fabi Delfino Deck 14.0 Wheelbase Length 31.6in 6.5 in tail/ Moderate Concave Symmetrical Shape. TRUCKS = 8.0 Venture Highs Team Edition Venture Loose Bushings WHEELS = Spitfire F4 Lock In Full 55mm "Wide Wheels" I skate only "Street Rough Spots" "Ditches" & "DIYS" This MIGHT BE MY NEW GO TO!!!!! its NICE in a very odd way. I put the 8in Trucks on instead of 8.25 because the wheels make up the rest of "0.25" space. "I don't like my wheels sticking out." I always catch my foot on them if they stick out. haha right now Big wheels with a smaller board and small trucks is workin for me. crazy because i normally skate 169' Titanium Indys lol
I rode 7.4's up to 10's and for my skating and shoe size 8 (if you believe in that) - 8.125 feels the best, but the shape is even more important than the size.
Me too! Life been kinda crazy, just got back into the country, been feeling a little off but body is adjusting back and hope to get a real street sesh soon!
Note those wheels are 2 years old. 2022 and that's the color. they were never whiter. i have like 3 pairs lol they actually never colored or yellowed ever. Most of the Formula 4 are not white. Some are. some are that color like a cream or a off white.
I’m on an 8.0 Popsicle and just set up a 9.0 egg to try out for some curb stuff. The 8.0 is on the small side, but I had the trucks around already, so what ya gonna do?
@@Roxus1 I think it really depends on what ur skating and what tricks u like to do. Always nice to have two setups and one with rails to have the option
I put together a 7.75 a few months ago just to have something like what I skated as a kid, lol. It’s fun. Has pop and flips for days. But it is a hard to keep under foot, and it wrecks my ankles when I don’t quite land right. It looks like a literal popsicle stick compared to other boards. Your comment is funny though, because I’ve been on an 8.0 as my main lately, and it does feel totally reasonable sized after being on the 7.75.
Thanks for watching everyone!

You just screw your rails straight in to the deck? I remember when they used to come with T-nuts.
