They look great. I’m mid 60’s, retired and have long hair, way past my shoulders. My daughter and I went to a Reggae concert a couple years ago. I never saw so many white folks, young & old, with dreadlocks. I’ve thought about that for while. Have old hi school friend, who’s a hairdresser. I should see what she thinks. Either laugh in my face or, say hell yeah let’s do it. 😎

I used to have dreadlocks! Unfortunately, I had a really hard time with maintenance. The whole constantly rolling them to keep their shape (I never used wax) or crocheting pieces in if things came out over time. Also my texture hair on the back bottom of my hair made a uni-dread from several pieces (I also have wavy hair that contributed to that). They made my head so itchy too. I remember it took over 9 hours to get them in too. I gave dreadlocks to someone else who kept them for many years, but they weren't for me. People always have this idea that dreadlocks are gross and dirty or something, but they were the most maintenance I have ever had to spend on my hair. I had to cut my very long hair so short to take them out. I will never have them again. It was fun while it lasted, I suppose.
I am glad Jerusalem liked having them so much that he decided to get them again. Some people are made for them :) I do like how tight the woman who made his dreadlocks were able to get them. That's very good. I feel dreadlocks take about 3-6 months before they start looking really good, and then definitely a year to be perfect. I look forward to seeing how they look in the future (I remember when he had them last time though too).

Do you have to have specific beads for dreads? I have a thousands of beads of many colours and sizes. I live in New Zealand but when i was making jewelery I bought a lot in Australia because they have many more bead shops with 10 times the range. The dreads look awesome but I've always thought your hair looked better in dreadlocks. It was well worth all the time it took. 😊
