I have to disagree with you on the homeowners liability. The homeowner hires the water restoration company. The homeowner hired the insurance company. Insurance has NO obligation to water restoration company. Insurance is responsible for REIMBURSING the homeowner.

Plumbers invoices are also covered if temporary plumbing is needed during water restoration.

You can file complaints with the insurance commissioner and /or BBB... Generally they'll try to avoid that as it's public reputation information.

I work for a restoration company but feel stuck between a rock and a hard place as preferred vendors. Would working as a PA be a better payout and help the homeowners, more so?

That would depend on the State. Right now in FL it's not good for anybody... attorneys, PAs, or homeowners

Awesome info. Do you know any good public adjusters in Colorado? If not, how do you find a good public adjuster? (I use Google and see that you have lots of 5 star reviews. Most of the public adjusters I Googled are poorly reviewed and none have consistently good reviews.

Thank you. Colorado has the attorney fee statute meaning any attorney fees you incur would be paid by the insurance company. We did have that for 100 years and just changed. I don't know any in Colorado right off hand but I'll see what I can find out if any are worth their weight.

@@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters I had something similar happen, where I had the main drain line under my basement Slab break which caused a backup of sewage water into the basement from the floor drain. Insurance is saying they won't cover the cost of Access because "the place where the water escaped from the pipe and came into the home to cause damage was the floor drain. Nothing needs to be torn out to access the floor drain and there was no escape of water from the drain line under the slab that came up into your home".
were you able to get insurance to cover your Access repair?

Hello me and my husband are in Tennessee. We have been fighting with Travlers for a frozen pipe burst for a month and have been switched adjusters now 3x. We had several items that got damaged due to the damage and unable to live in or close to our house and are having to stay with in-laws because they said they won’t pay for a place until clarified this is the frozen pipe. Please help. We were planning to put the house on the market in May and have been dealing with this till February. We want to get the most out of this we can so we can have maybe a good downpayment for a next house. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear that, insurance corporations are criminals. I'm in a similar situation myself, just with a different insurance company. In a different state on the other side of the country. If you haven't hired a public adjuster you should do so. However where I am they only take claims 1 week old or newer. Sadly I didn't know that and almost no public adjusters around here. It's been 1.5 years for me so far with an uninhabitable house due to sudden and abrupt water damage.
I don't know how lawsuits and attorney's handle things where you are. You might have to go that route unfortunately. Find one on contingency NOT one who bills hourly. Hopefully they will take breach of contract and bad faith a like on contingency not just bad faith. Get as much as you can in writing, and save all voicemails etc.
I wish you the best, this is just terrible.

What about when we don’t have demo to do an unfinished Basement and my bill was 5k (example) and the insurance company paid me 4K just because you guys paid the DD out of our bill now I have to go after the HO to collect the rest (go back to class man) collect your DD if you can please follow me for more info

@@CANECORSOPRINCIPE you have to make a business decision if you going to get the remainder 1k from HO in the example you laid out.
Let's say the spread is larger
Your bill is 30k and insurance pays 15k
Gotta be careful, a HO , if smart , can use the insurance company audit of your bill against you. Just saying
