Without a doubt, the introductory and final chorus of Boito's opera Mefistofele is a perfect synthesis of the transcendence of the human being in the face of life's challenges. Excellently performed and executed.
Beautifully prepared. Where are all the likes? I would think everybody on stage would've watched it and given the group a well-deserved pat on the back. Well, I've done my part. Such a thrilling piece of music!
One of the very first pieces of music I ever bought...This is a fabulous performance! Verdi's Librettist...as far as I know, it is the only thing he ever wrote for himself!
One of my favorite pieces, I discovered it late in life. A true gem. However, the tempo on this performance was too fast. A slower tempo suits it best.
I caught this piece towards the end on SIRIUSXM, driving home from work, and just had to pull over to Google it, to listen to it in its entirety when I got home; and, I'm so glad I did. First, the chorale harmony is [thinking] just heavenly! Ànd, just when I thought that that was all there was, then came the finale...and seeing the entire string section getting all worked up: Ah, this performance gave me chills!!

I think Boito is the one who deserves the pat on the back....
