At least you weren't there in 2012 sitting in seats behind the end zone where tavon austin took a TCU punt back for a touchdown right in your face...only to watch tcu answer and take the game to overtime...and then double overtime...where TCU's boykin hit boyce on a 2 point conversion in the same end zone where tavon ran in the punt return...so close that they needed to review it...I saw him pretty clearly make the touchdown..but we had to sit in anticipation and then walk out of the stadium in disgust after the call was confirmed.

Most of my dads side is from West Virginia, so his dad (my granddad) was a mountaineer fan, and he made my dad one and now my dad has made me one with this past March Madness! IM STOKED FOR THIS FOOTBALL SEASON let's go baby!!
Nice touch putting the two highlights from the 2009 game against Pitt at the end. I like WVU being in the Big 12 and I know we have an upcoming series with Pitt planned but the ADs from both WVU and Pitt need to get their heads out of their behinds and start to reschedule that game every year - you don't take a 100+ year rivalry that is an easy road trip for the visiting team and let it fizzle away for whatever reason. As a long time WVU fan I've seen good years and bad years but one thing you could count on during the bad years was that you always had the Pitt game to look forward to and beating them made a bad season a lot better.
Agreed. I'm happy to be in the Big 12 but if there's another realignment in the future I think the best case scenario for us would be to end up in in the ACC Coastal division and get Pitt, VT and Miami back on the schedule.
I miss playing pitt and turkey tech on a regular basis but overall top to bottom the acc is lame and boring in football and I'd MUCH rather see us in the Big XII !

LOTS OF THEM :) When we sacked McNabb his senior year (1998) (James Earl Jones was at the game that day); A VTech game (no I don't remember which one, lol).. had to stop play because they (Hookies couldn't hear) same with BC and a few other games... This was 97-2001 (when I was there, lol)... The stadium used to have it where they could put the decimals on the jumbo-tron, but I don't know if they do that now :) That was always awesome to see how loud it really was in there :) Good Times. WVU Football always makes it exciting :)

One of my memories from childhood is the night of the game against Doug Flutie's Eagles of Boston College (in 1984, the year he threw the hail mary against Miami). We were down 20-6 in the 4th quarter and came back to win. At the end of the game, I could hear from my house 3 miles away, "LET'S GO..... MOUNTAINEERS.... LET'S GO.... MOUNTAINEERS....!" Flutie never beat WVU.
Those were great times. Our season fell apart after that, but we had a good bowl game against TCU in the Bluebonnet Bowl once we got our starters back from injuries.
I was at the Va Tech game in Landover. Most fun I've had at a game that we lost. LSU game was fun also, but that damn punt return is like a black cloud!

The loudest I've ever heard it in person was that night game against LSU during Seven Nation Army. The whole crowd was going apeshit. Shame about what happened immediately after.

Yeah there’s not much happens up here in West Virginia but when we do get a play we do get excited we don’t have much to look forward to here in West Virginia We have Coleman’s pipe lines we have people drinking moonshine at the football game I thought we got up here in the mountains
West Virginia needs to change your schedule first four games of the season they need to play the big school like Ohio State LSU Florida all West Virginia does is talk to talk I like to see them walk the talk
Just discovered this video I see a lot of should coulda would’ve comments. how about what we did to CLEMSON it might be said we changed Mrs Sweeney for life with that game. That program completely leveled up after that loss. Unfortunately West Virginia university has been plagued with bad politics and athletic directors. It may be changing but basketball always seems to get the attention.
Dana was such a bad coach lol. So many games were up two scores but he couldn't manage the game properly. How the hell did we lose that TCU game on gameday? His special teams and defense was always horrible.
