Mixing Corn and Soybeans in a Food Plot - Why?!

  • First and foremost if you're wanting to maximize your crop yield this isn't the mix you should try. But! If you're wanting to diversify your plot this might be a good option. Looking for a way top screen your food plot but also provide food? That's how we're utilizing this blend, to help breakup the views from a nearby gravel road looking into this plot.
    At about 80 pounds of soybeans and 7 pounds of corn per acre this plot is going to provide plenty of forage this winter for the wildlife.

    That's pretty cool. I'm going to plant cover crops in my corn this yr after they spray the corn.

    Do the stratton soybeans need to be innoculated if so what kind of innoculant do you guys recommend. Thanks.

    Now go in august 1 -15 and put 200 lbs to the acre of winter rye and you will end up having food into the late winter early spring time period!

    My area ran a great crop this year with about 15lb/ acre corn had a mix of a beans and forage beans combined. I'd up your rate of corn for plot breakup and windbreak for the wildlife

      We had to go light for maintenance with herbicide. Lots of Sericea lespedeza.
