Some notes of the bassoon are so high. I would expect some students from the higher levels of high school to play those notes. The oboe and the clarinet range in those pieces are what I expected from high middle school to low high school levels. So turn it down an octave and have the bassoon play out. Also please note I am assuming that is your attended audience

Thanks for the comment! I originally arranged this for a professional trio several years ago. I'll keep your ideas in mind if I need to make an easier version one day. Here's the debut performance: th-cam.com/video/evQSDf0KVzk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5iOaoZnZ0GbIwWqY

Professional bassoonist here: the bassoon part is fine, E's F's and G's are not high, all of my private middle school and high school students can play up there just fine

@@OneManBassoonBand I have some questions. Did your private students, when you took them on, knew how to play those notes? If not how long did it take for them to learn? Also I would like to add that private students always advance faster than self taught or public students.
When I made the original comment about how high the bassoon notes are, I was assuming that the target audience was lower level players. Players that are beginning their musical journey. Players that are self taught or in public education. I did not knew at the time that this piece was made for professionals

Cool, but the basson is barely hearable in most of the pieces.

i think it’s supposed to be like that. usually bass is in the background. take the first piece for example. it’s like a sandwich. the middle is all the ingredients. all the juicy stuff. the top is the bread, holding the piece together. and the bassoon is the condiments. it just makes the sandwich better and have more flavor. i’m saying this as a trombone player.

@@Izzie_INTP I understand and maybe it is my playing device but the basson is so quiet for me that it can't do its job right. I agree that it is important to for the bass is to not overpower the piece.
I am a trumpet player and a baritone singer :)

@@Izzie_INTPHi Bassoonist here. Bass and melody are the most important when it comes to music. Using your sandwich analog It is the bread. It is actually the harmony that is all of the stuff inside of a sandwich. Also I would like to add if you take off the top bread or the melody off you still get something that you can hold. Like toast and jam. I also agree that that bassoon is too quiet. It doesn't support the rest of the ensemble, like the bottom bun of a really good burger.

@matedrong Do you mean the sound quality of the playback or in the arrangement itself? I'm using the new sounds in MuseScore 4 for this for the first time and I'm not 100% happy with them. The instruments all sound nice on their own but don't really blend too well in situations like this, imo.
If you're talking about the arrangement, in live settings the bassoon is quite audible I think. Here's the debut performance of this arrangement: th-cam.com/video/evQSDf0KVzk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8QWxcVij5HULYGCb

@@KylesSheetMusicShop I mainly mean the playback, what I can see from the sheet music the arrangement is good/fine. I used musescore as well and found hard to find a good overall balance of instrument volumes. (In real play the musicians and the conductor can fine tune the piece sounding) I hope you can understand my broken english xd. (It is not my first language)
