The crazy part is in the first two seasons, Justin NEVER left Alex hanging (except one time, cause he knew she could do it without him and it would make her a better wizard). However there were so many times she almost left him hanging until someone reminds her. Then, later it becomes the opposite with Alex caring for him (and other people in general) more than he does…
So, I think they killed Justin character to make him so unbearable that if Alex won it would feel deserved. However, they didn’t need to do that cause we liked Alex and knew she was gonna win anyway…like she did things in the show that other wizards wouldn’t dare do (bad and good) and saved people lives constantly (plus she the main character). But I will never forgive the new writers for messing up their sibling dynamic, cause it was so realistic and genuine in those first seasons.

I agree. The first two seasons, and especially the movie, did a great job exploring the dynamic between Alex and Justin and how much the love between them is always there.
But the last two seasons made him so unlikable and egotistical. Also in the finale he was willing to sacrifice his own friends to keep his powers. And him (and Max) being so mad at her was so forced and apparently he’s violent towards her now???? Like honestly the finale might be in the running for the worst episodes

The show was technically before my time so I didn’t get into it initially but rewatching it I realize that the last two seasons are when the show starts to lose its charm. Suddenly it’s all about the competition and they all(especially Justin) become way too competitive and selfish because of it
